Global Okanagan - March 22, 2024 - Marking March 22: World Water Day

Discussing the Myth of Abundance on World Water Day 2024.
"You can't have life without water. It's an opportunity to think about what we treasure, what is important to us, and the way water plays a role in that and how we can help protect water." says Corinne Jackson, Director of Communications with the Okanagan Basin Water Board.
"We call it the myth of abundance. People see that we have this string of gorgeous lakes, and we feel we can't possibly have a water problem, but the fact that we have water restrictions is a good indicator that we have water challenges."
Okanagan residents are among the highest users of water, something the Okanagan Basin Water board hopes we can turn around by making more conservation efforts.
