Global Okanagan - June 24, 2023 - B.C. Government moves the Okanagan to Drought Level 2

  • An extremely warm spring and lack of precipitation has led the Government of B.C. to declare the Okanagan in Level 2 drought.
    A level two drought isn’t expected to severely impact the environment, however that could change quickly if the valley doesn’t get enough rain in the days and weeks ahead. Residents are asked to consider taking precautions now to conserve, ensuring enough water this summer for agricultural and domestic use, potential firefighting, and for fish returning to creeks to spawn in fall.
