Hypotension is low blood pressure.[1] Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps out blood.[2] Blood pressure is indicated by two numbers, the systolic blood pressure (the top number) and the diastolic blood pressure (the bottom number), which are the maximum and minimum blood pressures, respectively.[3] A systolic blood pressure of less than 90 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) or diastolic of less than 60 mm Hg is generally considered to be hypotension.[4][5] Different numbers apply to children.[6] However, in practice, blood pressure is considered too low only if noticeable symptoms are present.[7]
Hypotension is the opposite of hypertension, which is high blood pressure.[2] It is best understood as a physiological state rather than a disease.[2] Severely low blood pressure can deprive the brain and other vital organs of oxygen and nutrients, leading to a life-threatening condition called shock.[3]
Hypotension can be caused by excessive exercise, excessive heat, low blood volume (hypovolemia),[8] hormonal changes,[9] widening of blood vessels,[10] anemia,[11] heart problems,[12] or endocrine problems.[13] Some medications can also lead to hypotension.[14] There are also syndromes that can cause hypotension in patients including orthostatic hypotension,[15] vasovagal syncope,[16] and other rarer conditions.[17][18]
For many people, excessively low blood pressure can cause dizziness and fainting or indicate serious heart, endocrine or neurological disorders.[15]
For some people who exercise and are in top physical condition, low blood pressure could be normal.[19] A single session of exercise can induce hypotension and water-based exercise can induce a hypotensive response.[20]
Treatment of hypotension may include the use of intravenous fluids or vasopressors.[21] When using vasopressors, trying to achieve a mean arterial pressure (MAP) of greater than 70 mm Hg does not appear to result in better outcomes than trying to achieve a MAP of greater than 65 mm Hg in adults.[22]

I've suffered from low blood pressure practically all my life. Fainted a couple times and banged my head into the tile floor the last time. There are several things I've done that have immensely improved my energy levels. Firstly, if you're a female, take iron before your period. Also, eating a lot of red meat (at least 2-3 times per week) helps iron levels stay higher. Eat healthy!! Cutting out most sugars and starches seems to help a lot. Take a multivitamin daily. But the MOST important thing of all to maintain energy and pep is to exercise!!!! It is a must to fight this condition and these symptoms. And I fully understand is really hard to exercise when you're dizzy and lethargic. Deep breathing is essential to get oxygen into your cells as well. That's why you eat really healthy for a few days and then slowly start to exercise, doing what your body is comfortable with and then increasing in intensity and amount of time spent. After I did the eating right and exercising, I've never felt better. I'm a 38 year old who suffers from adrenal fatigue, low blood pressure and endocrine issues. There is hope for us. I know that these conditions can cause anxiety and depression so it's really hard to get going sometimes, but you can do it and you will be so glad you did after just a week or two and you'll feel so much better. Good luck to all of you and God bless.
Sorry to learn about your experience, Glad to know you are better now. Please, take care of yourself, rooting for you
Low blood pressure 94/57 but normal pulse. Unable to sleep in the night because I feel like my heart is pumping too fast and I can’t relax. Did you have any issues with your sleep ?
I went to the doctor, they told me all looks good. But I don’t feel good.
I usually have a high pulse and low blood pressure. I usually always have insomnia but I think it's more a symptom of anxiety/depression but there have been times I can definitely feel my heart rate keeps me up. Do deep belly breaths and listen to meditation music. Also, I know it seems like a no brainer but I'm shocked to hear people with insomnia or anxiety still drink caffeine like water. Caffeine WILL DEFINITELY effect your heart rate and ability to sleep. So cut it out in you still drink it.
@@beatrixbrennan1545 I had a sip of coffee yesterday and wasn’t able to fall asleep. Today I didn’t have any, so let’s see how the night goes. What was your pulse rate ?

I run low blood pressure for years now. I can walk in for an appt and my pressure will be 86/50. When I was in the hospital last month, it ran on an average of 80/40 and at times lower. I had cellulitis. I pass out very easily. I probably black out almost daily. But I've been evaluated by a cardiologist. All tests are normal. I dont Inow if it's related but I get very severe headaches. My migraines are frequent and severe. Thanks for the video.
This is exactly what happens to me.
You need a new doctor. Someone that actually cares.
same here, how do you treat it, have you found out what's causing it yet
Please check sugars, low blood sugar causes same symptoms but also headaches . Vision blurrs.

EXERCISE IS THEE MOST IMPORTANT THING ON THIS LIST! In fact you will NEVER feel better or end your nightmare of fatigue until you move around more & force the blood to move around. I promise you that if you can sleep literally ALL DAY & NIGHT LONG, exercising for 3 minutes every hour helps, immensely. Stop about 3-5 hrs before bedtime though. Try jumping jacks, burpees, push ups, jumping rope ect... Come back I chat with me after your 1st week of doing this. 🤗💕
But if I feel bad when I train my head turns and I get dizzy

Yoooo
@@lokmenhmida1549 - You don't gotta move fast or even sit up! Lay on your back & get those legs in the air! Ah, wait a minute... that is NOT how I meant for that to sound. I was thinking like a bicycle motion or getting your legs moving the blood around... at 1st, LoL!
@@Digitalhunny I didn't understand anything
I was chilling at home and went to go change the temperature and suddenly walking was really hard and keeping my head up felt impossible I walked back to the bed and basically laid down and just started making my peace in case it was about to be all over and then I must have fell asleep and woke up feeling way better and hasn't happened since but was terrifying
This is helpful ❤️
Agreed
Is it harmful to drink water before shower? does it affect blood pressure?
Check the hormone progesterone. If it is high, it is probably the cause of low blood pressure
Hello, I’m a young male adult who’sfeeling depressed and lacking energy to do things for a long time now. Few weeks ago I tried my grandmas home blood pressure measurement eguiptment and have gotten regurarly low readings since then. Average systolic 69 and diastolic 47. Resting heart rate probably isn’t relevant but it’s also in low 50s.
I had low blood pressure in my teens and 20s - I was very active and turns out I had a heart condition called ARVC - my stroke volume/cardiac output was horrible - this is probably a rare cause.
I was the lucky recipient of a transplant 2 yrs ago and my blood pressure is still in the 90s/60s now .. hoping the cause is non-concerning this time, but my stroke volume is decreasing … sigh! Thanks for the video!
I want to commend your resilience and strength throughout the process. Please keep communicating with your doctor, sharing your symptoms and concerns. It gets better
So I am most probably dehydrated and low in salt most of the time. Thank you for this very useful info.
Make sure to use a mix of sea, Himalayan, Celtics, and that "no salt" that is potassium. Mix it up and use often. That other stuff is not at all good for you, (regular table salt). You can also get the iodized sea salt. I mix it all up and fill my shaker.

:) I have a medical question! Since September last year, I've been having episodes where I get lots of chest pain,I struggle to breathe, I have pins and needles and then I faint. I've been in and out of hospital for weeks, but no one can figure out what's wrong with me. I now have a blood pressure of usually 140 - 169/ 90 -106
What do you think that it may be????
Edit: I am only 14 and it's making quite a big impact on my learning as I have one nearly every day

When I get up after sitting or sleeping for a while my head spins sometimes...
