  • High blood pressure is the number one problem that can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. Antihypertensive drugs are prescribed immediately, but there are natural methods to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of secondary diseases. One important approach is to change your diet. It is important to increase your intake of fruit, vegetables, wholegrain products and fish.
    Another important step is to lose weight. Being overweight can increase blood pressure and even moderate weight loss can significantly improve blood pressure.
    Salt reduction is also crucial. Too much sodium in the diet can cause the body to retain more fluid, which increases blood pressure. Reducing salt intake can help lower blood pressure.
    Finally, regular physical activity is essential. Activities such as walking, swimming or cycling can lower blood pressure by strengthening the heart and improving blood circulation.

    If I have a very sweaty workout daily for an hour, how much salt does that deplete? I’ve been doing this and having a low salt diet and it’s clearly a problem. I have headaches and fatigue. It’s only been a couple weeks, so I’m glad I figured it out already. I had a glass of warm water with a half teaspoon of salt and felt remarkably better in minutes. I’d love to have an idea how much salt I need after having keeping my heart rate over 150 for an hour.

    My pressure don’t get up to 120/80 at all it’s lower than that. I get light headed. I lost over 80lbs and i walk 15 miles a day. I think i shouldn’t take meds no more. Im on 2.5 amlodipine and 12.5 spironolactone but it makes my blood pressure really low when i take it then im lightheaded and feel. terrible! Do you agree i should come off meds? I don’t eat high potassium because of the spironolactone. Im tired of it!

      I know this study. There are larger studies needed, to really show, if keto is better. Please consider: Not everybody is willing to do keto on such a strict level and can hold this diet on long term. I see a lot of patients struggle with keto and carnivore on the long term...it is one-sided.

    • @RobertWinter2
      @RobertWinter2 Місяць тому +6

      @@DrUlrichSelz_english I hope doctors are now giving people the option and don't automatically assume it's too hard for them. I didn't stumble upon keto until I had been a type 2 diabetic for a over decade. Keto gave me my life and vitality back, including normalizing my blood pressure and getting me off all my multiple medications. Keto is not hard to stick with if you're scared of going back to feeling as bad off as you used to feel. If you just do it to lose a few pounds, sure, you'll eventually be lured back by the siren song of ultra-processed edible substances that pass as food these days.
