I always thought a cool mod would be to revamp all the classic farms because I always feel like they’re not SPECIALIZED enough, like the forest farm is slightly worse at being a farm with the added benefit of regrowable stumps and some seasonal forage, what if instead it barely even had tillable land but had a massive forest of magogany trees, unique forage that sells for a lot, naturally occurring fruit trees, ect, what if the hilltop farm had a quarry that took up HALF THE FARM and had the potential to be filled to the brim with iridium and gold ore, what if the river land had river, lake, AND ocean spots and had the potential to collect rare fish that shouldn’t spawn on the farm like lava eels or fish that are entirely out of season, theres so much potential for hard core specialization and making the absolute most out of one specific skill
If you look up mods for the map, you can find lots of variations on the farm layout!! Not exactly what you are describing but can be a great way to spice up your gameplay
man, I love those ideas. forest farm has always been my favorite, but I've always been kind of annoyed that they give me so much tillable when I really want my farm to be almost entirely forest. I want the layouts to be extreme and give wildly different experiences
@Robyn Sparkle Up Cat cave. Literally the entire point of the mod is to offer a chance to replace the cave where bats screech and give fruits with a cave where cats meow and bring you different items.
One mod that helped me a ton with combat was Combat Controls Redux. It does a few different things, but the biggest one for me was it turns your character in the direction of your mouse click, meaning you don't have to use wasd to look towards whatever you are attacking before clicking. Auto-swing is nice too if you are lazy and just want to hold attack
I've always thought it would be cool if you did a video on every missable item/thing in the game for the absolutely insane people like me who want absolutely everything on one save, or as close to that as possible. Keep up the absolutely quality content!
Actually, I believe the only genuinely missable items would be the Stardew Valley Cup, and the Joja vending machine. Even the Penny items can be gotten with multiple players
@@salmence100you can permanently lose the gold Lewis statue if you place it in someone's path and you don't even get the money from Lewis. The statue doesn't respawn after that and you can't get it with item IDs
If I recall correctly, giant crops have a 100% chance to drop a journal scrap or secret note (assuming you have one left to find and can get it) with scraps on the island and notes on the normal farm.
The randomized crop pricing sounds awful when you have to plant a rare seed like Sweet Gem Berry, only for it to return less than half what it used to be 💀
@@slwrabbits I wondered the same thing. Everything every day seems awful, but once at the beginning of the save? Now you have to go in and learn just like your character (who worked in a cubicle their whole adult life) would have to.
"More Giant Crops" is awesome when paired with the "Tap Giant Crops" mod. I like to set up a little area to collect all of them, and with tree tappers it can be a display that's also functional.
Getting back into SDV has been a treat because the game still has an active and informative youtube presence! I really like some of the mods, thank you for making such wonderful and helpful videos!
Along the lines of the cat cave, there's a mod, Cat Gifts, where the cat brings you a gift to your doorstep depending on the friendship level. It's not perfectly optimised, but I think with some tweaking it could actually be really nice
The animated mining pack is my second favorite that I have installed, first is the ui one that tells you when the traveling cart is there and what your luck is and when you level up etc. strongly recommend those two at least, and also animated fish
THANK YOU! Mods videos are so often repetitive stuff (for ex Automate, like searching Nexus by most download wouldn't pop that one out in five seconds). It's so nice to discover new fun mods, even if they aren't game breaking. I loved this video, got a few of the mods for myself, I can't wait to try them out tomorrow
Really love your mod showcase videos, it makes discovering new mods to use so much easier (cause sometimes at least for me you cant tell if a mod is something youd wanna use based on its download page alone) and reminds me of growing up watching minecraft mod showcase videos obsessively
Honestly all of the foragable trees got me like that. I'm tripping over Blackberries and Common Mushrooms, but Hazelnuts just seem nonexistent before Fall 7 or 14
Just discovered you recently and absolutely LOVE your Stardew content, started playing this game with my fiancé and learning about all the new stuff that's been added since I last played and your videos have been a huge help in rediscovering my love for this game :) keep up the amazing work!!

The Water Bomb is actually based on a prank/meme from a couple years ago where a bunch of streamers were tricked into doing that and losing a bunch of their crops
OH LETS GO! I always love your mod showcase videos Edit: something I noticed on my steam deck with the tree transplant mod is that I can't only use the tough screen to move the trees and even then it's really janky to the point that I couldn't use the mod.
Ooo, the fishing net one is rather delightful, especially if it contribuites to fishing skill. I've yet to find a game with interesting fishing, but it's always a pity to either ignore fishing quests or cheat through them. Would be nice to have a mechanic for them instead - at least this is just 'go on the rounds'
The fruit tree mod is lowkey crazy cause if you combine it with the Fruit Bat Cave, you can essentially craft Fall Foraging seeds the entire year for Tea Saplings.
I actually got my first prismatic shard form a metal head, you know those walking balls of metal that clink when you hit them. Read as intended... And it was below level 40!
Dynamic Crops is an interesting idea, but I think it would better is the crops price would have small fluxuations at random, but what crops you sell and how many would cause big changes to the crop's sell price. For instance, if you sold 50 strawberries their sell price would decrease. However if you hadn't sold parsnips in a good while their price would climb. This would encourage growing several kinds of crops. This effect would probably need to persist across a year or more to be really noticable. There would also need to be some indication of the sell price of a crop before you actually sell it. The only game I've played with this type of system is Slime Rancher, but I think it adds a lot to the gameplay loop as you can't just farm for the meta material(s).
Yeah I would definitely get the mod for growing coconuts and golden coconuts don't really need the golden coconuts too much but the Coconuts yeah and Transplant tree sounds as good as well. And that's only the first six mods that you were talking
The giant crops mod being the first mod to be showcased here really hurt, just driving down the fact that I've tried to get giant crops grown in 3x3 areas for a year straight and failing
One farm I had I got super lucky and the quarry started with two mystic nodes both of which dropped prismatic shards and I don't think I've gotten a mystic node in the quarry on any farm since then
Oh, some of these look great! I'm going to have to try out some of them! Also- do you have any recommendations for a single mod with more crops? That's one thing I always want to try out, but the only ones I've found are part of much larger mod packs.
Will the transplant tree mod preserve the tree's age? As in, if it's a three year old tree producing gold (I thump) star crops, will that still be the case when you move it?
I'll be careful what mods to grab for my game, since I don't want it to be overpowered, but the versatility of giving better use for less useful items or absolutely useless items is a big one.
Stardew mod but the game uses the same data it tracks for daily luck rain etc. Combined with your buy and sell habits to generate an ingame stock market that you as the farmer must pay attention too in order to actually make sales. If you grow and sell 100 parsnips, you oversaturate the parsnip market and take huge losses on your profits. Flower dance coming up? Flower demands start to rise and desperate young bachelor/ettes have thier eyes, and wallets, set on getting high quality gifts in a pinch to show thier affections.
