    GREAT tips -- and the one about figuring out which TYPE of lifestyle you want FIRST is gold.

      Yes... so many buy on the RV's appearance or affordability or color scheme without figuring out HOW they will actually be using it.

    Nicely done. As newbies we did not know any of what you covered. We bought a very old, solid, high quality small class A to "try it out" and figured if it did not work we could sell the class A with very little loss. We looked for two years. Sitting in each one forever asking could we live through a rainy weekend in it. Then we found the one. The first year was awesome. The second year we "fixed it up" with what we needed to make it perfect. Third year came and things started to fail and parts were obsolete. Year four we sold it and upgraded to a newer "perfect" class A with slides. Now every time we look to upgrade we are thinking about what we are giving up to "upgrade" so we just stopped looking and enjoy what we have. Whatever you buy, new or used, get an inspection by a company you hire - that works for you and not the dealer/owner. Going on eight years and love it. Currently sitting at home counting the days until the next trip!

    We bought a small RV after having to deal with A LOT of rain one too many times while tent camping. We love camping but in our 50s and just wanted the comfort of an RV. My husband looked and waited then found the ONE. We've had it for 4 years now and love it. We aren't full time, and just the two of us. We were lucky to get a great deal and the camper we love.

      We are in the same postion of travel as you have described. Which RV did you purchase? We have narrowed our choices to a motor home 30 ft class C after a couple of years of reviewing all the options within our budget.

      @@brucehamm6197 we have a Star Craft Autumn Ridge, 17ft. My husband was a truck drive and don't mind hooking it up. He can park it so easily and doesn't mind me NOT parking it. :)

    We’ve had three rv’s since the early 90’s. Our latest is 2021 33 foot class C . We are both retired and carefully chose our floor plant and options including full paint . We love it and have no regrets. Done some suspension upgrades and a few inside plus had tow dolly painted to match the coach. Best coach we’ve had yeat.

    It may be a good idea to start with a used rv, if you want to change in a year or two, you won’t be hit with as much depreciation as if you had bought a new RV.

      That's a great tip! Starting with a used RV can definitely help avoid major depreciation if you plan on upgrading in the future.

    I guess we got lucky. We bought a new Tiffin 2019 36LA Open Road and have been full time ever since. Love it. We are retired and in our younger days have built 3 homes. I think that helped us know what we wanted or we just got lucky 🤣😂. Enjoy your channel!! Safe travels 😊👏❤️👏

      Wow, it sounds like you hit the jackpot with your RV purchase! Maybe you should start a "RV Owners' Lucky Club" for those who got it right the first time. But seriously, I'm glad you're loving your RV!

    We have had 5 class C motor homes. Yes 5. We love the floor plan of our latest Class C. It is a bit too long for us to navigate now that we are older but it would have been perfect as the third motor home. Who knows which floor plan is your best until you live in it for a while with Visitors .Children. Grands. dogs, & one time a cat. We love to travel and we are very satisified with our present Class C.

    How about the regret of buying an RV with quality problems? I have seen many horror stories about issues with the RV and then the problems getting them fixed.

    Mike, Is rent often before you buy still good advice or is it out of date? Have you seen the prices to rent an RV lately? Can you even use a towable if you don’t have the tow vehicle yet? While rent before you buy seems like a great idea, often renting one for just a weekend is often as expensive as paying the monthly note. Check out the prices please. Perhaps you have suggestions that I have not found.

    • @RVLifestyle
      @RVLifestyle  11 місяців тому

      Yes, it is expensive to rent. Ridiculously so. But a bigger expense if you buy the wrong RV without trying it out first.

      Ah, the good old "started with a 1000 dollar pop up." Us, too...many years ago. We had some great family time in that pop up.
