So lovely as always Sara. Could I ask what exactly are chakras? Im not new to yoga and ive heard of chakras before but never understood what it all means.
Of course, Annabelle! It's an important question. You can think of the chakras as the body's spiritual energy system, consisting of 7 primary points, each corresponding to specific organs as well as different emotional or spiritual states. According to ancient India philosophies, the chakras play an important role in influencing all areas of life including our physical and mental well-being. When our chakras are 'balanced' or 'open', the energy derived from this system is constant and free flowing. But conversely, when the chakras are 'misaligned' or 'blocked', the opposite is true. I hope that helps but if you would like to learn more on the subject I would recommend the following article from The Chopra Centre as a good starting point (chopra.com/articles/the-philosophy-behind-the-chakras). It does a much better job of explaining the philosophy and in much more detail. 🧡
