I just found this and I sat and cried through the whole thing, as it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. Thank you for sharing with those of us that need these at this time of Advent. It is 12/23/2024 and I will play this one over and over.. Love to all.................Betsy
God bless you, Betsy!
KING of Kings and LORD of Lords!!! Hal-le-lu-jah!!!
The most heavenly music on earth ❣️
It was in a crisis that Jesus appeared as my Lord + Saviour. Hence my undying devotion to Him.
RIP Sir Colin Davis (born #otd in 1927) 🌺🌺🌺
I could listen to this for the rest of my life.
I was thinking the same thing. It’s shockingly beautiful. It’s like listening to heaven.
I believe we will hear it forever.
PRAISE LORD GOD JESUS CHRIST OUR SAVIOR! HALLELUJAH!
❤
I´ll never get tired of hearing and seeing this wonder.
Sir Colin Davis - may he rest in peace!
This piece always moves me to tears! My one regret in life is that I found Handel's Messiah too late to see it performed live by the LSO and Sir Colin Davis! Magnificent!
I remember watching King of Kings the 3 hour epic movie for the first time as a 6, 7 or 8 year old kid. This song ended the film when Jesus rose from the dead. I think I cried then, 38 years later it still makes my eyes water (in a good way). This is one of the most beautifully, uplifting songs ever. Thanks for posting the perfect rendition.
ALL taken directly from the sacred Biblical text ... "His WORD shall not come back void!" Amen we have the greatest gift at this time - Through FAITH ALONE, SALVATION in His Son, Jesus THE Christ" Amen Rejoice in this marvelous Gift from our Creator G-d: The G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!
How many athiests, secularists have stood and praised the LORD through this work? "Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall sing: HE IS LORD!"
😶🌫️
hellelujah to the only name higher than the heavens , mighty than the sun and all planets , glory to the name of you Jesus Christ , accept me lord into your doors
May the King of Kings and Lord of Lords reign forever and ever...God gave is only begotten son our lord Jesus Christ, maker of Heaven and Earth, so that we could all be saved under Gods grace and sit with him in the Kingdom of Heaven for all eternity. God Bless you all
Fantastic! ❤
this song always lifts my heart as if I'm walking to the gates of Heaven to meet Jesus face to face and just me seeing him is enough to bring me to tears to run to his open arms
Amen! I envision Him descending with all of Heaven, coming for me.
And then standing on the sea of glass, casting my crown at His feet because He is Worthy! 💕 Love has conquered.
Good to see some of the audience standing for this!
I’m not sure I could stand for this. I’m afraid I’d fall on my face. Its breathtaking.
I am standing while listening to this masterpiece.
That's customery....
Hats off to the choir and orchestra (:
and definitely to the few people who actually bothered to stand up!
May He reign forever!
I get goose bumps when the sopranos join in...........
Hallelujah !!! Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, greetings from Costa Rica 🇨🇷, May 2019
Greetings from the US! God bless you my brother in Christ! February 2021 :)
Glory to God in the highest. Magnificent music. Glorious God!
Our Messiah is the King of kings. He lives forever!
Amen.
Beautiful, Halleluja HE will return soon, praise HIS name!!!
i just listened to selections of Handel's Messiah at an afternoon concert this afternoon and it was beautifully done. Handel's famous work and other sacred pieces of chorale music really touch me emotionally and spiritually and bring me to moments of private worship in my heart. "King of kings, and Lord of lords" - taken directly from Revelation 19- what a majestic tribute to Jesus Christ- Lord and Savior and King of all!
HALLELUYAH!
KING of Kings and LORD of Lords!
HE SHALL REIGN FOREVER AND EVER!
THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR LOVE!!!
Jesus is Lord. Hallelujah
I love this piece more than any other piece in this world.
Beautiful. It always drives home the basic points of Christianity in pieces set in music.
I so love this version...splendid!!! :)
It is refreshing to see some listeners STAND when the Chorus No. 44 of the Oratorio is sung! Tradition!!!!!!
This is how the Messiah should be performed. Small accurate choir ( non of this massed choir of 500 voices nonsense) similar orchestra and a world class conductor. God bless you Sir Colin.
Hallelujah! For the Lord our God Omnipotent reigneth!
The kingdom of this world is become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ!
And he shall reign for ever and ever! King of kings and Lord of lords!
I noticed that most of the audience remained seated. How can ANYONE remain seated for this magnificent music??
King of Kings, Lord of Lords, HALLELUIA!!
I like the trills at 1:36. Not all performances of the piece have them there, but I appreciate it when they are.
KING OF kings HE is
💕🕯️🕊️ needed to listen to this today 💖
Indeed all cultures are not equal. The most exquisite Music, Art, and all earthly beauty permeates and glorifies God regardless of how the secular world is attempting to de-Christianize Western civilization.
The day is coming.
Philippians 2:
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
amen
I think Handel was the best there ever was when it comes to setting Scripture to music
It's nice to see that some of the audience followed tradition and stood while this was being sung.
Majestic! When they play this in heaven, angels stand too.
RIP SIR COLIN DAVIS
Amen. This is the gospel that Jesus is Lord God and Christ and he reigns us for ever and ever.
Nunca me canso de ouvir essa maravilha!❤🙌🙌🙌
Yes, He Is Risen!
what can i say? this is my favourite handel piece. my music teacher played the 1st violin part for me and i knew i loved it!
Intrigued by artistic composition of hallelujah thou shall forever remains immortal to humanity
Hallelujah does translate to mean, "Praise the Lord," in all capital letters and with great emphasis!
There's good reason to stand!!
Beautiful. I used to sing this with the St Thomas More choir as a child.
We had a full "high mass", with robes and incense and candles and Christmas carols. It was a beautiful ceremony. Even as a child it felt old and traditional to me.
Hallelujah and to all a goodnight!
Hallelujah Jesus is my savior ^_^
Whereas evil is meant, God turns things around for GOOD .
Allow me to beg your indulgence for a moment....sayeth the intellectual savior of the masses
The piece was boldly accented and glazed with majestic crisp and thrills! One of the best interpretation of the famous Handelian masterpiece-Hallelujah Chorvs. Thanks for sharing.
♪♫ King of Kings! forever and ever! Hallelujah hallelujah! Lord of Lords! ♪♫
Flying Spaghetti Monster
The most majestic two beats of silence in the history of music...
Agreed! This is an awesome performance. Vocal and otherwise, it is one of the best I have seen in my 53 years on this earth@
Am listening to it in 2018. Used to sing it before college and 4 years while in college.
The hallelujah chorus is one of the biggest and one of the famous pieces of all time and it's one of the biggest pieces in act 2 of this wonderful oratorio which is called Handel Messiah Handel was one of the biggest composers into the brook. Time. And on top of that Sir Colin Davis did it he really really did the entire concert on particular piece. I love the way this turned out.
our orchestra shall be performing the messiah with a chorus i am very excited!!!
Though the centuries, perfect forever, parabéns do Brasil !
divine...inspired...God's hand touched this
Hallelujah!
This chorus has a very special place in my heart! Classic among all classics, The Lord God omnipotent reighneth! It touches my heart everytime I see the audience stands when singing this wonderful chorus!
Merry christmas to all & god bless
D.E.P.SIR COLIN DAVIS
Handel at his best in the art of counterpoint! Speechless!
I`m very grateful for for your contribution on you tube
thanks a lot for pleasure you are spreading
GLORY TO GOD
This is the song that played in my head when I finished my summer work.
Colin Davis is one of the best choral conductors out there....his conducting of Berlioz' Damnation of Faust with the same orchestra here is a testament to that.
It's of my great pleasure to find your great divine music from your Orchestra. The and you all! Praise an glory to The Lord!
God be praised for this wonderful and divine piece of music!
George Frideric Handel be praised!
懷念啊!那個讓我驕傲的年代,演唱會的安可曲。
@DeLiCioUsFiReS I was performing with the massed choir in Sydney in 2007, everyone stood up! Including the soloists, and all the audiences (except for the orchestra of course). It was awesome!
always beautiful to listen on special occasions like good friday, peace on earth
GRACIAS A MI PADRE, PUEDO DISFRUTAR Y AMAR ESTA MUSICA, PARA EL DELEITE DE MI ALMA........
Hallelujah🙏
¡Rey de reyes!
¡Señor de señores!
¡Jesús Hijo del Dios Altísimo te alabo por ser el Salvador del mundo!
Maurice Murphy on trumpet from 2:58. No backing down from that high note. What a guy.
Maurice used to tell a story about his time as a young man in the festive season. He would get booked for so many Messiahs on the same day with different choral societies all over Yorkshire that eventually they would coordinate their start times so that he could play in all of them, moving from town to town after each Hallelujah Chorus and The Trumpet Shall Sound. Perhaps slightly exaggerated, but knowing him, probably not!
@TMHackett I would have to agree. I get tears in my eyes and goose bumps every time I hear this. What a glorious work.
KIng of King and Lord of Lord and the Almighty God JEsus Praise.
Coro,orquesta y director excelentes.
Sir Colin Davis está extraordinario en todo el Oratorio.Los maestros no tienen edad.
we are studing the messiah of hendel now in BRESCIA (italy)
the chorus of the conservatory !!
very good!
I have Mozart requiem directed by Colin Davis and it is worn out so many times I have played it. Davis is gorgeous and so powerful. Thanks for posting it.
Hallelujah from Handel is a very hold piece and is really beautiful. The vocals are extraordinary and I can't wait for the London Symphony Orchestra play something else part of the Messiah by Handel!
World class performance.

I adored it!More!
I bet that is so fun to play or sing!
No, it isn't. It IS satisfying, but this piece is HARD.
I wanna be the "Drummer* Bro !!!!!!!!!!!..... #LordovLords
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
@thesafekind The tradition started when Messiah was first performed in London; King George II was present. When the Hallelujah chorus began, he stood up and remained standing throughout the chorus. Royal protocol dictated that when the monarch stands, everyone in the monarch's presence is also required to stand, so the audience and even the orchestra rose to their feet. It's a good tradition; you can concentrate on the music just as well standing as sitting.
¡¡PRECIOSO!!
Simply beautiful!
