I agree 100%! He is my best friend, the total and unselfish sacrifice, without Him there is NO hope for tomorrow in this world we live in now and He is MORE than Wonderful. He is our all in all!!! My father visited my wife and me in London 30 years ago. He decided to take us to see Fidelio at Covent Garden. He bought the best seats available, which were the closest seats to the conductor, Colin Davis. It was unforgettable to sit so close and hear him singing and humming along, as he's doing in this video.

This song brings back childhood memories. The goal was to join the choir and sing this song when I was younger. I am so happy that reading Isaiah 9:6 brought me here.
The entire oratorio written in 23 days. Most couldn’t write this tiny piece of it in 23 days. the “sheet music” for Messiah for voice alone is 252 pages. Now add to that parts for the oboe, timpani, trumpet, and of course those all-important strings....all written in 23 days. then to make it not-so-arguably the greatest piece of music ever written, well that’s supernatural.
I have heard, many times, and performed The Messiah in concert. This is my favorite tempo and performance of all. I was a flute performance major. I thank God for Jesus, and that He is everything that He said He is.

I miss my dad...I gave him a CD with this song and many others on it...he died not long after... every time I hear these songs...I listen for voices that sound like my dad...he sang in the choir of our church...he was so awesome...kind, gentle, intelligent, elegant, every morning he made us breakfast, he took care of our yard (over 5 acres!!), he dressed impecabbly because he was a businessman, he never cursed, never spoke an unkind word about anyone..(his worst expletives were 'oh horseapples' ...i miss you dad..you were the best of the best man I could ever want for a father...

This song brings back childhood memories. The goal was to join the choir and sing this song when I was younger. I am so happy that reading Isaiah 9:6 brought me here.
The entire oratorio written in 23 days. Most couldn’t write this tiny piece of it in 23 days. the “sheet music” for Messiah for voice alone is 252 pages. Now add to that parts for the oboe, timpani, trumpet, and of course those all-important strings....all written in 23 days. then to make it not-so-arguably the greatest piece of music ever written, well that’s supernatural.

I have heard, many times, and performed The Messiah in concert. This is my favorite tempo and performance of all. I was a flute performance major. I thank God for Jesus, and that He is everything that He said He is.

I miss my dad...I gave him a CD with this song and many others on it...he died not long after...
every time I hear these songs...I listen for voices that sound like my dad...he sang in the choir of our church...he was so awesome...kind, gentle, intelligent, elegant, every morning he made us breakfast, he took care of our yard (over 5 acres!!), he dressed impecabbly because he was a businessman, he never cursed, never spoke an unkind word about anyone..(his worst expletives were 'oh horseapples' ...i miss you dad..you were the best of the best man I could ever want for a father...

It is amazing how prophets like Isaiah, who lived around 700 years before Jesus, were able to prophesy exactly what would happen.
No Isaiah did not predict the birth of Jesus! That is a prophesy that has nothing to do with the birth of Jesus 700 years later but with an immediate situation facing the King of Judea.

Handel composed "Messiah" and scored all the parts for the full orchestra, soloists and choir in
twenty days. If that isn't an example of Divine inspiration, I really can't imagine what would be.
I used to perform this entire oritoreo a few years ago with the Seattle symphony orchestra. I was 16 and 17 when I performed it. I had a great time.
There is only one word and it's genius. Maybe miraculous too, truly a gift from God to us all through Handel.
