He stood because HE recognized the King of Kings. It is called the Anthem of Heaven because it gives praise to the Godhead. We stand in reverence to our King, Jesus. Hallelujah, the highest praise to The God of Heaven.
This music is a declaration and exultation of the glory and majesty of Christ Jesus. My grandfather just passed away this evening. I was at the hospital with him, by his bedside, shortly after he passed. We had some music playing next to him, and when everyone stepped out of the room to give me a few minutes with him to say my final goodbyes, an instrumental version of masterpiece started playing (I've always loved Handel's _Messiah_ ). I interpreted it as God's little "wink" to me that all is well, and that my grandpa, with all those who die in the Lord, is victorious, and will now eternally enjoy the presence of the One who reigns forever. I love you, grandpa, and can't wait to see you again one day. ❤️

I've sung in chorales for over 50 years. Many choisters are agnostic or atheist. They sing because that enjoy performing what a human has composed. The section leaders in large church choirs are often professional singers who sing for pay and do not necessarily have any opinion about the existence of God. Inspiration comes from many sources, be it belief in Gods, a God, or appreciation for the works of humankind.
The Hallelujah Chorus is from Handel Messiah. It was first performed in Dublin in 1742 and on to London. The oratorio gained in popularity, eventually becoming one of the best known and frequently performed choral works in Western music. The Royal Choral Society has performed the Hallelujah Chorus on Good Friday each year at the Royal Albert Hall since 1878.

that happend to me, absolument incroyable; but, finally, when destinaty accepted my dearest wishes, I had to accept that my will was not so good as I hoped.
Did you know? The piece is 94 measures long. Important events in piece: 1. Entrance of trumpets - “King of Kings” occurs in measures 57-58 ≈ (8/13) x 94 2. “The kingdom of glory…” occurs in meas. 34-35 ≈ (8/13) x 57 These are all Golden ratios(Fibonacci ratios ≈0.61803398…) which are also used by Mozart in his piano sonatas .
Amazing rendition of this song from Messiah, the famous oratorio of German composer George Frederick Handel. He was a deeply religious person when he composed the oratorio. The audience stood up as this song was performed in public.
This is actually a very difficult song to sing. Whether you're a tenor, alto, soprano or bass and singing only your part, you have to know when to go in and out of the song. If you sing it alone, it doesn't sound right until you put everyone into the mix. Then it's incredible how it all works out. It's one of my most favorite songs to sing.
It's difficult to play in the orchestra, regardless of the instrument as well, ray! I played the trumpet many years ago - the extra chills of being right in the middle, literally, of creating this gorgeous piece of music is still one of my fondest memories!
Yes. I remember it was definitely something to learn when I sang tenor for a choir around Christmas. I loved learning it and glad I got to be apart of that. BEAUTIFUL song! Praise God!
It sounds like 3 or 4 groups singing in the round, I bet this rehearsal took a while, but definitely worth it, I use to be in choir but I never want this one, the soprano part takes your breath away, but I'm going to practice perfecting it, just for my own. Satisfaction, It makes me feel like he's near me when I listen to this, such a beautiful feeling.i can't wait to see him his love will end all of the pain.!!!!
Halleluja Chorus is an ever green song which can never fade away. Handel was inspired by the Holy Spirit to compose it which confirms the song to also be an heavenly song.
When you pray for something the night before and lo and behold, God answers the very next day King of Kings Lord of Lords And He shall reign for ever and ever
may i say something please??..your comment IS beautiful, but- also an oxymoron...(yes, i DO know what you mean)...you said "He is risen" (AMEN!), but you also called it "easter"...i so wish that Christians would get their wording straight...it is "Resurrection Day" for the OBVIOUS reason, and NOT "easter"...the early church (beginning of Acts) knew nothing about that day being called easter...they ALL called it Resurrection Day, because they were preaching it!..the word easter came waaay later, and was named after an evil demon goddess...the devil did THAT...and to this day alot of people just say that word without realizing WHERE it came from...but i know it's with good intentions...but it's time for the Body of Christ to call that day what it REALLY is!..Resurrection Day!..beings that's the whole point!..He IS risen, resurrected from the dead!..HALLELUJAH!!..Praise God!!..just something to think about is all...thanks!..God bless you wonderfully and amazingly!!..🙏👍🏻😇
26th Dec 2024 - remembering when I was younger, i sang this song on the church choir at Christmas time. It’s nice to be able to listen to this again and remember the fact that He shall reign forever and ever. HALLELUJAH!
It's musically rather trivial compared to other things Händel did, even in the Messiah there is much, much greater music, but ok. Because it makes you feel a certain way, it must be the greatest music ever written. 🙄
Supposedly when Handel was composing this piece his assistant became concerned after calling to him for some time with no response. He entered the room to find his master in tears He asked what was wrong and Handel held up the sheet music for the Chorus and said "I have seen the Face of God"
That was BEAUTIFUL! My all time favorite song❣ I sang first soprano since 7th grade(1980) and was used to the high vocal ranges. In 10th grade, (1983) was moved up to Concert choir. The first day of class, (end of August) the teacher hands us the sheet music for this song. As the teacher took role call, I remember looking at the music and the first soprano notes heading into the RAFTERS! Thought we were going to need ladders to reach them! By time of the concert in December, I totally enjoyed the song because it was a challenge. The Christmas concert was at a local church and we got a standing ovation! We were so proud of our selves. 😃 My senior year of high school, (1986) I joined the church adult choir, and our choir director had us do this song for Resurrection Sunday. I was already familiar with it and this time got to really listen to the words. Between the music and the lyrics, I came to realize what a strong, powerful and beautiful song it truly is❣ In the last ten years, I have completely lost my singing voice. 😔 I was never going to make it into a career, but I enjoyed singing so much. But there will come a day, when the Lord calls me home and I'll NEVER LOOSE MY VOICE AGAIN❣🙂✝️🙏🎶
It’s already a beautiful piece of music when it’s arranged with only a few people. It’s completely incredibly majestic with this many people for all of the parts.
George Frederic Haendel has been one of the first true europeans - like Beethoven and Goethe. One fine day this will be the hymn of a whole world united. Thanks to the Royal Choral Society for this GREAT performance ! !
@@phish_smish They're not that high for singers of this ability, They're high af for high schoolers, and community chorales. Lots of chorales use an arrangement one step lower, in the key of C, where the highest note for sopranos and tenors is a G.
This is so much more than a piece of classical music! It is a testimony of the work God has done on this Earth and in Heaven. Hallelujah! God bless everyone!
I sang this every year in high school as part of of our choir concerts. It was a huge tradition, and we invited alumni to join us on stage. It's been 32 years and I STILL remember my bass part.
As someone who has sung this, not really. It starts painfully high, and goes *up* from there. And it's nearly impossible to not sing it at "blastissimo", so it completely thrashes your voice before you get to the hallelujah chorus. I much prefer Beethoven's 9th, especially the Bernstein in Berlin version where he changed freude/joy to freiheit/freedom, just after the Berlin Wall came down.

Bach's mass in b minor or cpe bachs magnificat might want a word with you
Just finished my final piece of coursework for university. Hallelujah!
Amazing rendition of this song from Messiah, the famous oratorio of German composer George Frederick Handel. He was a deeply religious person when he composed the oratorio. The audience stood up as this song was performed in public.
Still the greatest 4 minutes in the history of music.

What about Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden ? Yeah ... you ‘forgot’ about that one, didn’t you ?

This will NEVER get old
Oh, holy goosebumps! This marvelous piece of music never gets old.
Instead the more ages passes by the more we enjoy it.
Handel's Messiah is among my favorite worship music. TYSM
If humans singing it is beautiful, imagine the choir of angels praising the Lord!! And one day we’ll join them worshiping our Lord! ❤
Amen!!! ❤
I was just thinking the same thing. I'm moved to tears.. ❤️
I look forward to that day oh so much, I find life hard.
I imagine it sounds like a baby....laughing.
Pplease,
Lord watch over me . Thanks.❤😂🎉😅
This songs makes my soul long for heavenly life
This is actually a very difficult song to sing. Whether you're a tenor, alto, soprano or bass and singing only your part, you have to know when to go in and out of the song. If you sing it alone, it doesn't sound right until you put everyone into the mix. Then it's incredible how it all works out. It's one of my most favorite songs to sing.
Our choir sang it in high school, and I agree (as a Second Soprano). It just made me so proud to perform it!
It's difficult to play in the orchestra, regardless of the instrument as well, ray! I played the trumpet many years ago - the extra chills of being right in the middle, literally, of creating this gorgeous piece of music is still one of my fondest memories!
Try learning it while not being able to read sheet music. I’m amazed I managed it ngl.
Masterpiece❤❤
Still listening in 2024
Iam so glad that i was born in Christian family..... lots of love and regards from Manipur , India....

Halleluja Chorus is an ever green song which can never fade away. Handel was inspired by the Holy Spirit to compose it which confirms the song to also be an heavenly song.
+Adeniyi Adewale I wouldn't be surprised if the angels play and sing this blessed chorus during Jesus' return!

Playing this on Easter Sunday. He is Risen!
He is risen indeed!!!
Me too
may i say something please??..your comment IS beautiful, but- also an oxymoron...(yes, i DO know what you mean)...you said "He is risen" (AMEN!), but you also called it "easter"...i so wish that Christians would get their wording straight...it is "Resurrection Day" for the OBVIOUS reason, and NOT "easter"...the early church (beginning of Acts) knew nothing about that day being called easter...they ALL called it Resurrection Day, because they were preaching it!..the word easter came waaay later, and was named after an evil demon goddess...the devil did THAT...and to this day alot of people just say that word without realizing WHERE it came from...but i know it's with good intentions...but it's time for the Body of Christ to call that day what it REALLY is!..Resurrection Day!..beings that's the whole point!..He IS risen, resurrected from the dead!..HALLELUJAH!!..Praise God!!..just something to think about is all...thanks!..God bless you wonderfully and amazingly!!..🙏👍🏻😇
26th Dec 2024 - remembering when I was younger, i sang this song on the church choir at Christmas time. It’s nice to be able to listen to this again and remember the fact that He shall reign forever and ever. HALLELUJAH!
HE will be praised! Beyond forever!
Quite simply the greatest music ever composed in praise of God.
Definitely
It's musically rather trivial compared to other things Händel did, even in the Messiah there is much, much greater music, but ok. Because it makes you feel a certain way, it must be the greatest music ever written. 🙄
Supposedly when Handel was composing this piece his assistant became concerned after calling to him for some time with no response.
He entered the room to find his master in tears
He asked what was wrong and Handel held up the sheet music for the Chorus and said
"I have seen the Face of God"

Haleluya,Haleluya,Haleluya Jesus Christ Rose again,reigns forever,King of kings🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
That was BEAUTIFUL!
My all time favorite song❣
I sang first soprano since 7th grade(1980) and was used to the high vocal ranges.
My senior year of high school, (1986) I joined the church adult choir, and our choir director had us do this song for Resurrection Sunday. I was already familiar with it and this time got to really listen to the words.
Between the music and the lyrics, I came to realize what a strong, powerful and beautiful song it truly is❣
In the last ten years, I have completely lost my singing voice. 😔 I was never going to make it into a career, but I enjoyed singing so much.
But there will come a day, when the Lord calls me home and I'll NEVER LOOSE MY VOICE AGAIN❣🙂✝️🙏🎶
Amen!
Glory to the Lord Jesus Christ!
Beautiful story maam. I hope you are feeling better.

The best evergreen Christian renditions in History. Nothing can make this song go away. Absolutely nothing. The King Reigns!
An uplifiting piece of music. Absolutely sublime.
It’s already a beautiful piece of music when it’s arranged with only a few people.
It’s completely incredibly majestic with this many people for all of the parts.
Hello Martha
How are you doing?
There are certain classical pieces that can truly be called masterpieces.
This is one.
Merci.
This brings me to tears every time I hear it performed.
And Jesus becomes more real to me every time.
Did you understand a single word
Me too. And when I'm blessed enough to be in a choir singing it ... the tears don't stop.
This brings me one step closer to Heaven
If only people knew and understood why Handel wrote this piece. Indeed, Psalm 2, Luke 21, and Matthew 24 are the reasons for this masterpiece.
im crying manly tears of joy
This is truly made in heaven
No, in Europe.
Happy Resurrection Day!!! Jesus is the King and🎵 ' He shall reign FOREVER and EVER'🎵... Amen🙏💕
George Frederic Haendel has been one of the first true europeans - like Beethoven and Goethe. One fine day this will be the hymn of a whole world united. Thanks to the Royal Choral Society for this GREAT performance ! !
i'm practicing this song with my class. i'm a soprano ,and those high notes r no joke!
Same the notes are high asf
They're not even that high 😂
@@phish_smish They're not that high for singers of this ability, They're high af for high schoolers, and community chorales. Lots of chorales use an arrangement one step lower, in the key of C, where the highest note for sopranos and tenors is a G.
Nooooo it hurts ur head on the final “king of kings” not a fun time
😂
Listening , singing or humming the hymn fills my heart with peace and healing.Praise God.
Always a thrilling experience to hear the Lord God Almighty praised.

This is so much more than a piece of classical music! It is a testimony of the work God has done on this Earth and in Heaven. Hallelujah! God bless everyone!
Totally disagree.
I'm an athiest. I just like the music.
But Handel composed it
@@fishjj76 it is a very beautiful and likeable piece of music! All the best!
This chorus has just started playing in my mind now that I have finally found this composition after years of searching
I sang this every year in high school as part of of our choir concerts. It was a huge tradition, and we invited alumni to join us on stage. It's been 32 years and I STILL remember my bass part.
Same here! By any chance, did you go to school in CT?
No, sorry! Awesome coincidence though. @@Lady_Strange
The greatest choral piece ever written.
Happybidr Naaaaaa
As someone who has sung this, not really. It starts painfully high, and goes *up* from there. And it's nearly impossible to not sing it at "blastissimo", so it completely thrashes your voice before you get to the hallelujah chorus.
I much prefer Beethoven's 9th, especially the Bernstein in Berlin version where he changed freude/joy to freiheit/freedom, just after the Berlin Wall came down.
This is best song ever i heard in my life ....
Been my favorite over 50 years
Daniel Pame yes sir, pure genius
I sang in chorus years ago, church, concert; I still sing along when I hear it playing, and I still get goosebumps.
