Royal Choral Society: 'Hallelujah Chorus' from Handel's Messiah
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- The Royal Choral Society has performed Handel's Messiah on Good Friday at the Royal Albert Hall every year since 1876. The RCS filmed their performance on 6 April 2012 by kind permission of the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. This clip features the glorious Hallelujah Chorus with the choir performing under the baton of their Music Director Richard Cooke. Students from the City of Lodon School for Girls joined the choir for this performance.. For further information on forthcoming RCS concerts please see www.royalchoralsociety.co.uk.
"A standing tradition: Audience members usually rise to their feet when the famous "Hallelujah" chorus begins. Supposedly King George II was so moved during the London premiere of the Messiah that he stood and then everyone else in the theater followed so as not to offend him."
Since then , everyone stands for this masterpiece.
He stood before his King.
@@michaelkingsbury4305 Amen.
Nice
ohhhhhhhhhhhh I saw a performance of this last night and everyone stood up and my friend and I were like ummm what??
He stood because HE recognized the King of Kings. It is called the Anthem of Heaven because it gives praise to the Godhead. We stand in reverence to our King, Jesus. Hallelujah, the highest praise to The God of Heaven.
Easter Sunday 2024 because my Jesus is truly risen ..... Alleluia 🥳🥳🥳

Every knee will bow and tongue will confess that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah! King of kings and LORD of lords.
Handel's Messiah is among my favorite worship music. TYSM
My grandfather just passed away this evening. I was at the hospital with him, by his bedside, shortly after he passed. We had some music playing next to him, and when everyone stepped out of the room to give me a few minutes with him to say my final goodbyes, an instrumental version of masterpiece started playing (I've always loved Handel's _Messiah_ ). I interpreted it as God's little "wink" to me that all is well, and that my grandpa, with all those who die in the Lord, is victorious, and will now eternally enjoy the presence of the One who reigns forever.
I love you, grandpa, and can't wait to see you again one day. ❤️
That's beautiful!!! Amen to that
WILL HE REACH HEAVEN??!

I've sung in chorales for over 50 years. Many choisters are agnostic or atheist. They sing because that enjoy performing what a human has composed. The section leaders in large church choirs are often professional singers who sing for pay and do not necessarily have any opinion about the existence of God. Inspiration comes from many sources, be it belief in Gods, a God, or appreciation for the works of humankind.

I don't understand who would thumb down Trump.
Indeed this is a work of devine inspiration. It is said that Handel wept and claimed to have seen a heavenly vision when he composed this chorus. Everytime I hear this chorus I wish to be in that same spirit. This is not the work of art, this work the work of God.

Such beautiful chorus and song, Praise the LORD!
The Hallelujah Chorus is from Handel Messiah. It was first performed in Dublin in 1742 and on to London. The oratorio gained in popularity, eventually becoming one of the best known and frequently performed choral works in Western music. The Royal Choral Society has performed the Hallelujah Chorus on Good Friday each year at the Royal Albert Hall since 1878.

When I was a boy my dear mother (now gone for over a year) would sing alto for the whole oratorio. I never got to sing it, and now I regret it. But I will always remember sitting up in the gods and singing the 'H' chorus with them, loving it immensely. I do so wish that all mankind could sing it and realize just how much faith and joy and love it contains! God loves us - and we sing our love back to Him!!!
This is the entrance song to heaven.

One of the most beautiful musical arrangements, and beautiful message.
That was BEAUTIFUL!
My all time favorite song❣
I sang first soprano since 7th grade(1980) and was used to the high vocal ranges.
In 10th grade, (1983) was moved up to Concert choir. The first day of class, (end of August) the teacher hands us the sheet music for this song.
As the teacher took role call, I remember looking at the music and the first soprano notes heading into the RAFTERS! Thought we were going to need ladders to reach them!
By time of the concert in December, I totally enjoyed the song because it was a challenge.
The Christmas concert was at a local church and we got a standing ovation! We were so proud of our selves. 😃
My senior year of high school, (1986) I joined the church adult choir, and our choir director had us do this song for Resurrection Sunday. I was already familiar with it and this time got to really listen to the words.
Between the music and the lyrics, I came to realize what a strong, powerful and beautiful song it truly is❣
In the last ten years, I have completely lost my singing voice. 😔 I was never going to make it into a career, but I enjoyed singing so much.
But there will come a day, when the Lord calls me home and I'll NEVER LOOSE MY VOICE AGAIN❣🙂✝️🙏🎶
Amen!
Glory to the Lord Jesus Christ!

He asked what was wrong and Handel held up the sheet music for the Chorus and said
"I have seen the Face of God"

I'm a muslim and i like this song, these people manage to do it magnificently
WCKD 232 • 5 years ago you don’t have to be Christian to like this song; music is meant to appeal to many people.
And Why Did You Wrote that you are muslim Is there Any Need?
John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Full Chidori - In the context of the oratorio, the chorus expresses jubilation at the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Making this a Song made by Christans. When he said I’m a Muslim and I like this song is means that he likes the song made by the Christians.
King Ghidorah- Didn’t your read what I said? This song was made by Christians. When he says I’m a Muslim and I like the song. He complimented the song that the Christians made. He is not saying his beliefs at all. Muslims also have something close to this song called “Adhan” they read it of the quaran which is like the bible.
