  • Verno and KOC congratulate the Boston Celtics on winning the 2024 NBA Finals! They discuss their dominant playoff run as well as their dominant play all season long en route to an NBA record 18th NBA championship. Where does this Celtics team rank among the all-time great teams? The guys also applaud Brad Stevens for making the necessary moves to win it all, what lessons owners can take from this year's Finals, as well as the redemption arc for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Next, KOC shares some undervalued players he believes teams should target going into free agency, and what Luka Doncic and the Mavs need to do to not only make it back to the Finals, but to win it all .

It’s great that the Ringer NBA staff appreciates the Celtics greatness *AFTER* the Celtics win the chip.
Way to keep your eye on the ball.

KOC, with every lie / series prediction reversal -- your hairline moves back an inch.

Pretty shocking how the celtics were the best team this year from day 1, have every stat and advanced stat telling everyone this, vegas telling everyone this, and 99% of media people picked the mavs to win. Wild world. Watching the cope fest for the past 2 days has been hilarious.

Another mind blowing stat is that the Celts scored 80 or more by half time 3 (maybe 4) times this season.

The one that sticks out to me is that the Celtics built more 20-point leads than gave up 10-point leads. Dominance from wire to wire.

Ah these losers. The worst analysts in the game. Just checked in to see if they acknowledge how wrong they were. The celtics won with defense...with versatile offense....amd they never ever talked at lentgth about it. Vernon continually pooh poohed it.

Comical to hear Verno lament how the playoffs this year were not so hot. Sounded like sour grapes for picking the Mavs in six and seeing them go down in five.

Or, maybe, just the truth? Every team the Celtics faced until the Finals was compromised. The West after the Wolves took out the Nuggets was a snoozer. And then the Finals wasn't really that close (which, props to the Celtics).

No injuries compromised Minnesota vs Denver or any of the series the Mavs won on the way to the finals or the Mavs in the finals. Knicks got hit the hardest, but we’re up 3-1 when Indiana got a long buzzer beater to begin their way back. Minus Halliburton Indiana had three winnable games that the C’s took from them. Plenty of great basketball across all those series.

Not an all time team. Stop. They lost every game they played to the Nuggets this season and didn't see the Nuggets in the finals. The asterisk is because the Timberwolves got lucky and beat the Nuggets in a game 7 when their team was specifically designed to neutralize Jokic. If they run it back next year and win again, maybe they could be in the discussion.

Every game they played the Nuggets? The C's and Nuggets played twice. The C's didn't see the Nuggets the finals because the Nuggets let the Timberwolves hold them to 80 in one game and 70 in another, before blowing a 20-point third-quarter lead at home in the deciding seventh game. Why speculate about how the Nuggets would have fared in the finals vs. the C's when the fact is they got eliminated in round two?

Denver has nothing to do with recognizing the Celtics were insanely impressive this season. It was so cool to see a team make big trades, wonder if the personalities would all mesh, and then they dominated so many games with a crazy palpable sense of camaraderie. And I’m not even a Celtics fan 😂

@@9Saville It's a game of match ups. If the Timberwolves faced the Mavs before Denver, then Denver would have been in the finals and the Celtics might have seen a different outcome.

so to your braindead ass the celtics have to repeat to be in the discussion but the nuggets can get bounced in round 2 at home and they're cemented? cope harder brother.
