- As far as weight loss and good health goes, Helen has been there and tried that. Diets always work for her... until they don't. She lets it get her down for a while and then she tries another version of the same thing, and the cycle repeats. Helen is really unsure of how to solve this problem once and for all, actually she starting to think maybe nothing will actually work for her in the long term. One thing she IS sure of, is that more of the similar won't get the job done. Helen is tired of the numbers game, sick of learning whole new sets of rules and to hell with being hungry! She's ready to challenge some long held core beliefs and try something radically simple.
We've tried so hard over the years to boil our message down into a simple elevator-pitch, the trouble is we could never find a tall enough building to allow us to explain all the ways we do things differently! In the end we've settled for this explainer video... 8 years in the making.

Well done Spud Fit, I love this! This way of simple but generous eating has kept me well, feeling great and healthy for many years now! I still eat as much as I want, when I want - lots of rice, potatoes, pasta, beans, lentils, wholegrain bread, all the fruit, vegies and spices - all the good things! Keeping it simple and do-able for every day life is essential.
Thanks Elly, great to hear from you!
Dr John McDougall has just died. VERY sad day 😔
I lost 80 lbs eating potatoes never felt better and kept it off since 2021
Amazing job, keep it up! What's been the best part of the whole experience for you?
It is a whole new lease on life. I started because I got injured skateboarding, and loosing the weight has enabled me to continue to skateboard even after the bad injury. Feeling great is the best part and nothing is easier than eating potatoes.
@@kylemartinpaintings so awesome, well done!!
@@SpudFit thank you, it’s like a brand new life
Wowzer that is very encouraging. What do you have for brekkie? Porridge or spuds? I sometimes nuke a baked potato in the micro for breakfast.
Great video!
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!
I like the animation I just find the music a little too repetitive, but I like it. Nice presentation.
Turn the sound off.
@@conniel.4601 I did do that. Mandy is very musically gifted so I’m sure she could figure something out if she had time. I’m sure they’re working hard and I thought it was innovative, but I would like the music to be buried not repetitive that was my feedback
Great video - but please Sloooooowwwww Doooowwwn! - You've got a great message! But I'm not a speed reader and had to pause it from time to time. Sorry - again I love your message, it's awesome and vital! - I'm just knitpicking on the pace on how it's being deliviered.
In settings, make the speed slower.
That’s great Feedback and something a lot of us need to do we overstimulated world a lot of us are stuck in fighting flight so I think your feedback is really good
Thanks for the feedback, we did play with different speeds, it's really hard to get the right speed so slower readers can keep up at the same time as faster readers aren't switching off. If you click the little cog on the screen you can also adjust the playback speed yourself.
Also, my wife Mandy made it and she reads (and talks!) super fast. She had our 10yo son test it and he already made her slow it down a bit, but it turns out the apple doesn't fall far from the tree 😂
Hi I'm new here, I have a question. So I did the math , I need to eat 2100 calories a day to reach and maintain my weight loss goals. A kilo of white potatoes has 700 calories.
So I'd need to eat 3 kilo of white potatoes a day? That doesn't seem right, is it?
My midriff is bloated and my legs are horribly fat. I need to do this.
I'd love to have you take our free 1 day challenge. It's an hour of training that guides you through one day of our approach. It doesn't sound like one single day would do anything, but it gives you huge insight into your relationship with food as it stands and shows you exactly how our approach can change it for the better. Also, one day isn't really any different to one thousand days. It's only the stories that you tell yourself that change - and that's exactly the bit that we help with. You can get it on our website: spudfit.com/ (it's a pop out box on the side "Try it free". Get in touch if you need any help andrew@spudfit.com
I can't quite seem to get this to work - sorry 😐
Omg my name is Helen n I want to lose weight fast
It's meant to be Helen! We have a free 1 day challenge so you can test the waters, and our Mini Membership is only $7/month anyway :) You can get both at www.spudfit.com. Get in touch if you have any questions - andrew@spudfit.com
if i did this diet, i wouldn't be able to walk. potatoes cause me horrible joint pain. no joke. nightshades. you may be fine, but if you have unexplained joint pain, try NOT eating potatoes, or any other nightshade.
Is there any evidence than this anecdote? Would be interested to read independent studies about this topic.
It's not about the potatoes, it's reprogramming your mind and your taste buds. I've lost nearly 40 lbs and I eat more than 'just potatoes' 🤍
It's the tools! Not just the potatoes.
Thanks for this comment :) Actually we specifically didn't mention potatoes in this video because that's only one choice of many for achieving the psychological changes that people come to us for help with. I came to potatoes after an intense period of research that led to the conclusion that potatoes are the most complete single whole food and capable of sustaining great health over a long time. However two things: 1. I included sweet potatoes (which actually aren't potatoes, for the record!) too on my year long challenge and we have had many members over the years with nightshade allergies who have completed a short term mono-diet of only sweet potatoes, and 2. most don't need a mono-diet at all to get the changes they're looking for in mindset and habits. What you don't eat is far more important than what you do, and that's what everything we do is really about.
Evidence of which bit specifically? Nightshades? Joint pain? Potatoes?
