Great video Simon. For me, it's not trying to do everything yo have on your To Do List that day. Focus only on the top 2 or 3 priorities. Secondly, not a thing that I have removed, but more about adding, I check in with myself through the day, to see how I am doing, where am I at, how I am feeling (perspective/reflection), and ask if I need anything to change/add/remove.

Very insightful. Thank you for sharing this with us. I'm 65 and two years ago I was contemplating a cross country trip on a motorcycle. Something I always dreamed about. All the negativity and voices from others told me not to do it, it's too dangerous etc. I felt something within that was saying if I didn't do it I would always regret NOT doing it. I went away from the negative people and I planned it out and I DID IT! At 64 I rode all the way to the west coast and it wasn't the destination but the journey that was so fulfilling. I met people from all different walks of life on the way and got to see things I never would have seen if I would have stayed safe. Thanks again for sharing this. New sub'r here.

Excellent tips you gave. Some tips that have helped me:
    1. Never put off things that could be done today so you don’t carry that burden into tomorrow.
    2. Strive to do what excites you to keep you vibrating at a high level.
    3. What you put out is what you get back. Put out positivity and people will reflect your positivity back to you and you will in the flow of synchronicity.
    4. Be yourself. You all have your own signature vibration and frequency, just be yourself, it’s too much work, too complicated to be an actor.
5 circumstances don’t matter, only your mindset matters. Keep your mindset positive.

When I began grad school 20 years ago, I unplugged my TV, put it in its box and stored it away, because I suspected that I would otherwise be unable to keep up with the immense amount of reading and writing that the program required. It was hard at first, and I had to fight the urge to take it out and plug it back in. But it became easier as schoolwork demanded more and more of my attention. Since I broke the habit, it has stayed broken. Watching broadcast TV is a lot like being spoon-fed; it has a hypnotizing and enervating effect on the psyche.

The point about creating vsconsuming really resonated with me, as did the part about seeing constraints in a positive light. In my role running a larger mortgage office, I attend many meetings that generate fantastic ideas, but I often move on to the next project before completing the current one. Similarly, I can relate to the constraints mentioned in the video. My son, who is my first child, just turned one, and the impact on my lifestyle and availability has been significant. However, it has also been an incredible experience to watch him grow. Thank you for sharing this content. I believe that material like this can genuinely benefit people in numerous ways. 🙂

Hi! I just discovered your channel.
"Taking responsiblity is harder. Don't be allergic to personal responsibility, because only when you take full ownership of where you are and where you want to be, can life really begin."
Words of Wisdom! I see you also take notes from stoicism.
I'm at the crossroads of my life now. I gotta quit the alcohol and the nicotine chewing gum and get my body in shape, so I can have my life back! Maybe drink only on the celebration occations, and leave it at that!
Seems that you, Simon Alexander Ong, have lots of wisdom and have it together. Stay humble in your path! I wish you well!
    Best regards,

@@simonalexandero I appreciate that you replied to my comment! I see you reply to (almost?) everyone. Keep doing that, if you wish (not every channel's speaker is doing what you do). It helps keeping connected to the audience, though.
I liked that you even replied humbly to the sceptic comment after my comment, saying it's something you would dig into more in future videos (about how by shear force of will and choice, you started doing differently).
Yes, it's a MUST that I must quit those things.
I realized, that one must keep in mind the possible benefits of the good changes in life ALL THE TIME.
When the excusing mind set comes in (saying it's okay if I just keep getting drunk all the time), I just need to focus on what's good in my life's changing decisions.
I thought about writing it down, to differentiate the positive reasons/outcomes and the negative reasons/outcomes in my life - if I decide to stick with my plan to quit or not to quit.
What are your thoughts about this, Simon, to make a good change in life a permanent thing?

    • @simonalexandero
      @simonalexandero  2 місяці тому +1

@@Alex-i6b6g what makes it easier to stick to something is to connect with your future self, e.g. get clear on the identity of the person you would like to become and then operate from that future self in the present. So if your future self is living a healthy life well into their senior years what choices must you be making today for that to happen. For when the vision is magnetic and compelling, the choices in the present become clear ❤️

Bravo, Simon! You present ideas in the utmost concise manner so that everything makes sense and is memorable. There are strategies i try to live by in order to be more productive and happy. 1) no gossiping about others or myself. This means telling stories in a negative light. 2) Be aware of and quickly eliminate disempowering thoughts. This skill is powered by meditation, as it allows one to see oneself from a 3rd person perspective. 3) be self-expressive - share your thoughts with others and find your voice. 4) always be on time for every appointment/commitment. 5) quit lying to your self and others. The odd embellishment in a story to entertain? Sure. But stop lying otherwise. 6) always move with grace. Let other drivers in, don't get mad if you are cut off, etc. Essentially, take the high road. This is empowering.

Through meditations and cutting internal cords I felt relieved. I live only in the present not in the past accepting the bullying / mobbing from many different persons I had met - through my job mostly, without wanting to. Protecting my time and space and watching also what stimuli I receive, I am a different person now.

It’s so refreshing to hear somebody, an authority, no less, speak about the concepts that I’ve upheld for the last few years. It meant going against the majority, and being an outcast, but I was convinced it was the right thing to do. Each day, I look around and saw people who haven’t understood what it was to be really “free”. I’ve cut off toxic people from my life, family included. I’ve long quit social media, except the ones I use to communicate with colleagues at work. I’ve stopped watching the news and listening to people whose agenda was to manipulate others. I’ve stopped wearing fashionable clothes and stuck to 6 sets of work clothes and a couple of sneakers. Realizing that life is really short, I’ve carefully planned and done my traveling because reconnecting with people and exploring the world made me really happy. I’ve kept playing a sport that my peers would discourage me from doing because I’m 54 years old, but I still can do, and fairly well as people would say, all because it made me happy. And also because if I didn’t play it, I will definitely regret not having done it when the time comes that my body wouldn’t allow me to. I still got a lot of ideas that need to be pursued and executed but only so much time. I understand our limitations include being mortal. And so, before my eyes close and I rest for eternity, I understand I need to keep doing what makes me feel alive. Thank you, Simon. Thank you for making me feel understood and acknowledged. People have called me “weird” because of how I live my life. As it turns out, I’m not the weird one after all. 😁
