This 2009 Nissan Sentra with the 2.0L was idling rough and would die after a few seconds. The common issue is the camshaft position sensor which I show you how to replace!

Thank you for this video, excellent job. To bad my parts stores gave me the wrong sensor
THanks for watching and commenting! Sucks that you were given the wrong part! Hopefully you get the correct one soon!
@@Amundred tomorrow morning, I'm 50-50 on that actually happening. Thank you again
ooo car stuff
Yes....car stuff!!!
Hi! This is the same car I have, I ordered the part and went to put it on but I noticed the piece will not click into the connector. I am literally pushing with my entire life to get this thing to click lol. I ended up putting the old one back on but am wondering if they are always this hard to get in, or it’s a faulty sensor maybe? I went to a few different shops and I know for sure I got the right piece. It looks the exact same one as the one you use, but yours clicks into place so easily. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
It should just snap into the new sensor - I would look at the plug to make sure that a pin or blade from the old sensor isn't broken off and stuck inside the pigtail.
Double check the plug and the sensor to see if they look the same and there is always the possibility that the replacement plug was defective.
I got it, but in your video you should really mention the fact that not only do you have to push extremely hard, but you also need to push down on the tab to make sure the piece inserts all the way. Thank you!
How many sensors does this car have? Greetings from Sinaloa Mexico
A lot of sensors! 😂😂😂
What size wrench did you use?
I believe that it was 10MM
Do you have to have a code reader to fix this?
You will only need the code reader to reset the code after the fix - but the fix will take care of the issue without the code reader, you will just have a stored code
This was the camshaft sensor bank 1 correct?
I got a new sensor but it didn't have the O ring Seale on it, tips to removing the old one and putting it on the new one?
Hehe jk it had one
Glad you got that figured out! 💪
Thanks for your video!
@@mau2mau you are welcome! Thanks for stopping by, watching and commenting!! 🥰
Mine reads a camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction. A permanent code I can figure that out.
Did you replace the sensor and reset the code?
It could possibly be that the plug is bad or there is a bad wire between the sensor and the computer...I've had that happen before and had to trace down the bad wire.
Is this information relevant to a 2011 Sentra
@@RAWestROSE I believe that 2006 - 2011 should all be pretty similar 👍
Thanks for stopping by!
I'm going try this 😢😢😢 I replaced my spark plugs my ignition coils and maf center my car will stay running if I push throttle but dies whenever I let off throttle 😢 I ordered camshaft cencer I'll put it on tomorrow thanks for the help fingers crossed
Mine is a 2010 nissan sentra 2.0 hopefully it will work
Good luck!!! Be sure to let me know if this works for your car!
I will
Ok so my car won't sputter and die anymore I took check engine light off now it's doing way better car no longer stalls but still running rough I think I'm going change fule injecters but I don't have to keep my foot on gas pedal to keep it running thank you so very much😂😂
@@brittanydillon4132 haha...well at least it is running a little better! 😂
What year is this nissan?
2009 Sentra
I have a misfire I can’t get rid of. New plugs coils crankshaft and cam sensors. My patience is wearing thin and I’m about to burn this car. It has no power can get over 50 mph. The more you push the accelerator pedal the slower you go it bogs down
Catalytic Converter maybe? I would not recommend dumping money into it, maybe have a shop take a quick look and they could confirm. 👍
This is the crankshaft! Don’t get people mixed up they could pay a mechanic to change the wrong sensor
The Crankshaft sensor on this car is on the bottom of the engine...this is the camshaft sensor
@@Amundred I have the same exact car. Do you know if that is bank 1 or 2 ?because I changed the one u showed in the video and my engine service soon light is still on
@@Beatuup you will need to reset the check engine light after replacing the sensor otherwise if I remember correctly, it stays on after replacing the sensor. I had to use the scan tool to actually reset the light after replacing the sensor
