You also might need to put what year cars this covers. I also have a T31 X-Trail and they have moved a few things around.
I've got one for you. Two days back I went to start my 04 altima and noticed a longer crank time. Been through through it be4 so I bought a new CPS. Pulled the old one and found the three wires cut/ chewed ? through. Problem is there's only two inches left against the large wiring loom down behind engine. If you know could you tell me where under the hood I could splice into these blk, wht, red/ grn wires ?

I changed 2 years ago that crankshaft and know some time I can get it to star and sometimes work fine do I need to change the camshaft to or i have to replace both???
im by no means a expert but my mechanic told me when u replace one you have to do the other. so if u do the crankshaft. u have to do the cam
@@adonaiwoldeyohannes2631 I think this is BS that mechanics tell people to charge you more. I've owned a 2004 Sentra 2.5L for 14 years and replaced 5-6 crankshaft sensors in that time. Only replaced the cam shaft sensor once, and that was because the o-ring went and it was leaking oil.
How much volts goes to the cam sensor?

I have a T30 Nissan X-Trail You do not need to remove air filter or any brackets. You can simply reach down and you will find it. Very easy, less work.
Mate, this may be true if you are a snake-like person. With my T30 there is no way for me to pull it out without removing a lot of parts. Yeah, I can touch the sensor with my finger, but not the screw.

@@johna2076 I honestly was able to put a new sensor behind the motor block myself. You just have to lay on the motor and get in there with your whole arm. You can do it too!
Keith, I hope you mean the camshaft sensor. Yes: that's a snap.
No way, can you do the crankshaft sensor without removing some basic parts. (Unless you can get at it from underneath, with a hoist.)
@@barrystewart3950 Sorry to Disagree, BUT, I have removed and replaced the Crank Sensor on my T30, by reaching behind the motor from the top., now whether or not there were Plastic Parts removed before I purchased it, I cannot say, but the T30 I had I was able to get to it from the top, and I am a short-arse I actually had to lie on the guard/ Shockie Post to get to it. I also did the same on a friends T30, and without having to remove any other parts - Yes you are doing it blind but it is pretty easy really. Now, as for the Cam Shaft sensor, yes you do have to remove the Air filter and a few other odds and ends

I would say it's common. I had a bad crankshaft sensor when I bought my X-Trail, at about 220K Km. Now 6 years later, at 360K Km, I'm replacing it again. I did the camshaft sensor recently, as my analyzer said it was bad. That was very easy - and it also cleaned up a slight oil leak, as the 15 year-old o-ring was flat, rather than rounded.
The engine still stalled about 2 minutes after a cold start... or needed lots of cranking to start. Now the plug-in analyzer said the crankshaft sensor was also bad, so I did that.
I didn't remove the plate near the cam sensor, as shown on the video... but I did remove the throttle body. I find that gives more room for my arm.
This is NOT a job for fat-fingered or chubby-armed people. Thankfully I am neither.
• As shown in the video, unclip the connection AFTER pulling the crankshaft sensor out. It would be nasty to do in-place. I used carb cleaner and an air gun to clear all oil and gunk out of the connector. On reconnecting, it took a few tries before the 'snap' would grab, to keep the connector in place. I persisted, as I didn't want the connector falling off, once I put everything together.
• About a 2-hour job, for me, for the crankshaft position sensor. Given more practice, it might get down to 1 hour. The camshaft one takes maybe 5 minutes. (I'd like to hear what a shop charge for the camshaft one. Some light bulbs would take WAY longer...)
