Some carrot slices help with the sweet. Chomp on a carrot first. If it tastes bitter, then peel it and used slices sans peel. Adding diced bell pepper is good too. Want it hot? Add red pepper flakes.
Yes I have an onion board too,. When I was a young Mom my husbands Grandparents travelled 500 miles to visit us and I baked cinnamon buns to have with tea when they arrived. Unfortunately I took them out of the oven and turn the pan upside down on my cutting board and served those lovely sticky buns. The onion taste from the board ruined them...lol
You guys are the best! What a blessing Jane for you to have your precious mother and father at your age and stage of life. I just turned 60 last week and have not had my parents “ earth side” for over 14 years now. Also hubby and I just went back to plant based eating January of this year and we are loving all your recipes and the style of your videos is refreshing- (raw and real stuff!!!) Keep the videos coming. We just discovered your channel ( we used to follow Rips work and your dads when we were planted based 7 years ago. We often eat our lunch together and watch at least one video a day and I will also sneak in a few more on my own 💖💙💜💚
I make the Clean and Classic Marinara thar is in the Engine 2 Cookbook. I like to add fennel seed and I usually double the recipe. When it is mealtime I add cooked beans and whatever veggies I have on hand and then pour it over pasta or a cooked grain or a baked potato. Favorite combos are: Onion, garlic, kidney beans, artichokes Onion, garlic, mushrooms, spinach, beans Bag of frozen veggies, beans Onions, garlic, bell peppers, cabbage, beans
Oh I so love your mother/daughter banter. The zings keep coming! “Cutting basil on the everything board!” 😂 I wish I lived across the street! Also, great recipes from your “spiral bound” warrior cookbook!
A little splash of red wine added is nice ... or a splash of balsamic! Your sauce is completely authentic Italian and so good! The mistake folks make is overcooking it ... I loved that you knew it was done promptly!! And so easy and money-saving!
@@sO_RoNerYYou mean they didn't start with fresh diced roma tomatoes instead of crushed box tomatoes? Otherwise, this is how my nonna made it ... simple, only lightly cooked, and delicious.
If you use a glass chopping board you don't have to worry about onion seeping into the board - just rinse it. I thought most people had stopped using wooden curting boards because not only can onion juice seep into the crevices, bacteria can as well.
love you ladies and that kitchen so warm and cozy , i wanna cook there!😊did a marinara on my channel, and so gonna use the history you shared . love that. Thank you!
Thank you, Ladies! 💐👏❤️⭐️🥳
Great job videoing Wade/ Cleveland Video Company! 👍🏻

“I’m so tough”…. Yes you are, Ann❤️
Awesome thank you
I adore watching these lovely ladies! ❤️
they make me want to go plant based, they are so motivating
So excited to see you show this recipe!! You could also use grated carrot to help with acidity instead of maple syrup or use in conjunction with.
Thank you ladies for the recipe it looks delicious 😋
They look amazing.🌱🌏❤️
Anne, yes you are tough! 🥰

The sauce isn’t authentic. However. i don’t believe in authentic food.

Not perfect cus its Home Made 🥰
Yall are so awesome!! Thank you for sharing. 💜💜
My book arrives Thursday, can't wait. I'm going to listen to you while I cook. I cane from a big family & it's more fun to cook with others!
I love you two
Fresh mushrooms and sweet bell pepper too…perfect
Looks amazing!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

It looks so good I would go ahead and add some mushrooms and some olives yum😊
We love adding roasted red peppers!

Yum :D what a beautiful sauce :) always a lot of fun :D thank you so much for sharing
I only have a cutting board for onions and garlics.
Where do you buy POMI tomatoes? Haven't found any at a reasonable price, either at Amazon or local groceries in CF area.
I use a separate onion board!
🌻🌻🌻A little vinegar would be a possibility.
What brand is your standalone stove top? I need to buy one for my daughter who has a glass top oven.
Costco sells an induction burner by Greenworks, I think.
❤❤❤❤😊
Put in some of your favorite mushrooms.
Pasta sauce jars are 24 oz
Don’t chop basil, tear with your fingers. You don’t want the basil on the cutting board and chopper and waste all that vibrant flavours
I would add some heat using chili flakes. I would add just after the garlic.
Carrots, grated instead of sugar 😘
THANK YOU!! For a recipe that doesn't call for balsamic vinegar. I can't stand it and it burns my tongue.
🧅Onions
🧂seasonings
🌱basil
🍅Chopped tomatoes
🥫strained tomatoes
🍁dash of maple syrup to cut through acid
I have an Onion and garlic board
Cutting board, after cleaned off, will not take on other flavors Jajaja…
Garlic 'oil' but not now, tomatoes, fresh basil.
Fresh herbs only, not dried.
Needs at least 15 minutes of simmering for the flavours to meld.
I cook like Anne as I use recipes as guides, not as masters. Loosen up Jane. Let Anne add more basil if she wants.
Could not agree more!!!!😊
