LaTulip breaks down what led to the statement victory and why it "sends a message" as well as big performances from Ben Humrichous, Jake Davis, Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn, Tre White, Kasparas Jakucionis and Kylan Boswell. LaTulip then looks ahead to the Illini's upcoming stretch against Washington, Penn State and USC.

Can we now agree that Brad Underwood was a great hire who we are so fortunate to have as the Illini flag-bearer?
I hope they can sustain this intensity in Seattle on Sunday and grab another road win.
Mike LaTulip understands the game so well he would make a great coach- ultimately a head coach at a mid- major
Illini fans, 2005 Illinois basketball is back, enjoy it, it's going to be fun to watch.
Eh, I don’t know about all that. You’re talking about an undefeated(forget Ohio State) team that made it to the ship.
There were 3500 views on last nights podcast by 6:00 AM.
One of the greatest things that is happening for the align eye is that the game is starting to slow down. It’s a beautiful thing to watch.
All i can say is go Illinois and Thank the basketball Gods for Brad Underwood.
The staffs that Whitman has assembled at Illinois is just amazing. Winning culture everywhere.
As for Ben, the fact that he unleashed a Tomahawk Jam gives a defense is a little more to worry about Then guarding him at the three point line. He also did some booty ball! I love what the coaches are doing; they're saying you're a complete player let's use you that way, at whatever mismatch we can get. That's just going to help Ben, and it's going to help the team. If every person on the floor is a threat, both from outside or at the rim, they can wear a defense out.
The thing is if NBA scouts etc. are saying KJ is NBA top 10, and you are playing with KJ and practicing with him and sometimes you get the better of him, THAT builds your confidence. You now can judge your talent and where you are at and where you need to go to get to Kasper's level. Without that it's always academic, you're the best on the team but how do you know that is good enough? With KJ there you now know for sure what it takes and people will work harder to get there.
I admit I was way off base on Ben H. I was calling his spot an empty uniform. Well Ben you just slapped my ass off the keyboard. Well done young man well done. Now cook that recipe and serve it up again the whole year. Not necessarily the points just having an impact on the game from one position
Humrichous has cupping marks on his shooting shoulder indicating therapy was performed. Hopefully his injury is behind him. If this shoulder issue caused his past game slump some restricted game practice minutes would have helped recovery. This game is a perfect example b10 teams need a deep bench for success as toughest conference play is ahead.
BH clearly was having shoulder issues, might be why shot was off. You could see the massage things on his skin. As someone who deals with knots in the shoulder it can throw all kinds of things off and those knots can get really deep to workout.
I would still ask 25:00, why couldn’t Will do what Ben is doing? I think Will could get more of a share of Ben’s minutes. Overall still really happy and this team is a LOT OF FUN
I didn’t realize Ben Humrichous could stay another year
RJ Melendez comes to mind too as one that slumped so badly folks really started calling out. Sadly in his case he never snapped out of it and seems like people were almost relieved he transferred
Re: "It was obvious to everyone that he wasn't playing up to his potential"
Respectfully, I disagree. It might have been obvious to experts like you guys and the coaches, but to average fans like myself, it was not obvious he had this kind of potential against high-major opponents.
March madness will be Intense..
I confess. I was one of those who thought Humrichous should be taken out of the starting lineup. I don’t mind at all being proven wrong about that, but this was just one game. Granted it was on the road against a quality opponent, but just one game. Let’s see him start stacking quality games.
ben averaged 3 pts and 1 rebound over 6 games lol thats where it was coming from . im 5'6" and could put that stat line up . im glad he had a great game now do it again . ILL!!!
ur tweaking
@jorn979 i went to a basketball school, 1 basket 1 rebound is not bragging I'm sure you could too

Basketball is putting the ball in the basket simple concept. If you can't master this basic concept consistently, go to the track and field team.
Guys, is KJ a "one and done" guy?
Without a doubt, he’s gonna be a top 10 pick in the draft.. enjoy it while you can.
Yes. He’s projected as a top 5-10 lottery pick.
Underwood - coach of the year
Illinois fans reactive and toxic? Never! /s
merry christmas NOT happy holidays...
pack up the politics, you're in the wrong UA-cam comments.
@@sumdude4281 America here NOT wing wang
I knew it was going to take some time but it looks like this lineup is actually starting to come together.
