- A brief but fully insane ride aboard the Stroh (too) Light scale unlimited hydroplane. This video was filmed in a testing session during the 2024 R/C Unlimiteds Columbia Cup in Kennewick Washington.
Let me know if you dig it, and if I can find the courage I'll run the camera during an actual race next time!

A gimbal and a set of FPV goggles and we got us a sport lol
I'm in!
Always love the Jaxon Brown shots prefacing the videos.
Me too!
That was awesome. Would definitely love to see some racing
I'll make it happen!
Awesome video and run Scott. No body ever wants to play with the winner...lol.
I love the way the "turn bouys" just fly by sooooo faaaassssssttttt! OMG, that boat can turn!
I only wish my driving could do justice for the boat!
Hi Scott, I have a random question not related to this video. I hope you don't mind. I've seen you use hockey tape in minimal amounts; as a hinge on the rear cover of the Stroh's is one example that comes to mind. I haven't seen you use it extensively to seal around your canopies/cowlings. Do many members of your club use it to keep out water? I've built an ML Boatworks LSH that likes to nosedive a bit unless I gun it. It's pretty smooth once it's on a plane, but I don't really want to resort to tape to keep out the water if I don't have to. Can you share any tips?
Thanks, I always get something helpful from your videos!
Bill
Hi Bill, yes a number of guys use hockey tape to seal up, most typically the electric boat guys. I'm not a huge fan of it myself, as it doesn't really seem to stick all that well. When racing I use radio box tape on the front portion of my cowlings. This helps in the event I get into one of those epic battles where I have to pound through somebody's roostertail
Thanks Scott. I've been thinking hockey tape radio box tape are the same thing. Sounds like that's not the case.
Well technically there's no such thing as radio box tape so I guess hockey tape can be used for the purpose, but again I don't think it's well suited for it. Hockey tape is very elastic and is used to wrap hockey sticks to create a grip. I used to think it was useful for holding pieces together when gluing, like when installing decking, but its grip isn't very trustworthy and will let go sometimes. If you've seen my videos on the subject you know that I've switched to blue painter's tape. For radio boxes and sealing a cowling I use this product; www.allrc1.com/product-page/3m-radio-box-tape-3-4-x-72yards
Thanks Scott!
This perspective reminds me of my own channel. Lol. Onboard views are cool. Mount it facing back next time. No water 💦 on the lense no matter how fast ya go. I’ll even donate a Go Pro for free if ya keep this up. Lol.
Did you just put "GoPro" and "donate" in the same sentence?!?
You have my attention
That was Awesome!! What do you think about making a t-shirt, that says ‘ Don’t tell Jackson!’?
Along with his "Cool Kat" sunglasses pic? 😎
@@M5PerfHydros absolutley! With the glasses, I’m sure others besides me would purchase one😎
i got this stuff that will make that boat way faster. its a chemical called hydrazine. pretty neat stuff.
When I said the boat was a rocket, I didn't mean literally!
Yup.
Mmm hmm
Mr. Meyers: Great fun watching you and your buddies enjoying your hobby. This video kind of proves something I have been wondering about for some time. If you can use a (small) camera and pursue the "action" from on the water. You should be able, with the help of virtual goggle's, to drive your race from that point of view right? You can see the all the course markers etc. etc. I would think it would make the driving better, and for the driver, much more exciting. I will continue to watch your video posts, and again thanks for the fun entertainment. later Dave K.
I'm pretty sure I'd puke first lap!
It would be near impossible to see the dead boats before running over one... Not much easier from seeing them from the drivers stand!
Hey everyone, I have been busy building a bunch of wooden (gas) racing hulls. I would really like to get into this with you all. I love it. Not really sure where to go or who to talk to? @rc_boat_addiction
