I’d like to say thanks to H1 for extending their coverage of Seafair to include coverage of the HRL event in New York. It was a good day to be watching their UA-cam feed.
That was w hell of a camera ride....now if we can just convince someone to build a two seat version of one of these boats so i can pony up for a ride!!!
Wow. The Beacon boats went out of their way, twice, to make sure they washed down the 91. No doubt about it, there was no way they were going to let the 91 see clean water.
I'm still trying to figure out where the penalty occurred, when the other boats cut the course of when he got watered out. I guess I'll have to do more research. Andrews grandfather Joe would have been proud of him, I know he was proud of what Mark accomplished.
They would probably still be racing those engines if they hadn't used them all up. Yes, I know there are still guys running them, but not hard, they're exhibition boats. That said there was nothing like sitting in turn 1 of the Detroit course as I did many times and seeing 6 boats at full throttle going into turn 1. It made your guts rumble. Bernie Little literally saved the sport by perfecting the turbine boats and then giving the technology to the other teams. Yes I miss the red boat, but with Bernie gone and his brother-in-law and best friend August Busch not running Budweiser any more those days are gone.
Man I really like H1 unlimited racing but both Kelly and Peabody they should have been penalized that was totally uncalled for they cause Tate the race Tater I'm sorry man you ran a great race sorry for the Kinard breaking you could have won that race the judges need to be more specific on these calls
To me it looks like both Beacon boats should have yielded the right of way on their cut of the course. Probably could have given both a penalty. The second wash down was a bit closer as you could argue there was a lane left for the 91 in that turn albeit a tight one. But most of damage done on the cut of the course as that took out the canard and both mirrors. Probably why Tate missed JMI coming up fast at the commitment pin.
For all those whining about dirty driving. You're clueless. Tate drove right through their roosts @ 2:30, that's 100% on Tater. @ 5:23, there's 5 boat lengths, maybe not 6, but there's sure looks to be 5 IMHO. Besides that, Tate was very late on the 1:15 score-up. If he was on time, he would have been between the U1 & U9, not behind them
Tate was fast all weeknd .........getting hosed down was not intentional iam sure ...................too much respect between those guys for that !!!! ......................just sayin .............see you in san deigo ......:)
Wow, didn't think the two boats that cut the course in front of Andrew really did anything wrong when watching it live. This videos shows they both should have been awarded penalties for that. And then for the 9 to cut him off like that again and put out the fire, I bet Andrew had some seriously choice words in that cockpit after that.
Imagine how the outcome would changed the results of many past races if this technology was available from the 50’s on. Incredible to see first hand the pinching that Peabody gave Tate.
I don't think there is a rule that says you have to re-enter the course and establish yourself in lane one before moving over.... although there might be before San Diego. Kinda like Nascar passing on the right in a turn hugging the wall... it only takes once for a rule change.
No, there was not enough overlap for the 9 to move over, that said, Tate does seem to lag behind for some reason I cannot understand. Last week in Tri Cities he gave Peabody enough room to move over to lane 2. Stupid mistake.
During the mill the overlap is only 5 boat lengths. It doesn't move up to 7 until the start. I'm not 100% sure what the rule is on re-entering the course, but it sure looked like the strong boats came across with more than 5 boat lengths.
This would have been another win for Andrew Tate but Corey Peabody had to play unfair and encroached on the u91. Peabody was penalized but I think JMK cut off Andrew Tate as well. At least Goodman Miss Madison racing has the points lead going into San Diego Racing for the Gold Cup, that's the big prize and I hope Andrew Tate takes it all
This is the 2nd time Peabody has washed out Andrew Tate. Done it at Madison and there was a no call. Kelly and Peabody both should have been penalized for cutting in front of Tate ripping off his Canard. Tate had the right of way. Peabody is a dirty driver. No Sportmanship on the course.
Andrew SAW it coming. It's sad. I don't watch hydros like I used to. Too much officiating drama. Not what it used to be. Every incident tarnishes it for me.
That wasn't even Peabody's roostertail that he went thru. And if you as a driver are that far away and had ample time to let off the gas but don't, then that is more your [Tate's] fault than either of the strong drivers. But I am willing to bet that had the shoe been on the other foot, you would be saying that Corey or Mike got what they deserved or some other bullshit.
he had enough distance on andrew to not be called for it. Same exact thing happened last year on the backstretch with andrew cutting and mike going through the tail. Andrew just got unlucky with his canard
@@JunkoSSG-zz5vw boats cutting infield are to yield to the boats on the course but I guess h1 deemed they had enough room not to have to worry about that.
Maybe it's time to contemplate burying the milling period with the 80 mph rule. Assign lanes based on qualifying, winning, and fastest lap as a tie breaker. Jmo
They did away with that 80 mph rule starting in Guntersville. They have a different set up going now that they must be at the start Finish Line at the 1:15 or 1:30 Mark depending on the size of the course but either way Andrew Tate got washed down Buy Peabody and possibly JMK. I have no respect for Corey Peabody no more, that was a dirty move but he did get penalized
Naw, I think the milling period is necessary. Otherwise the slower boats will never have a chance. The U11 is typically in the mix because Jamie is good at getting lane 1, but he's never gonna qualify for that lane.
this is the best starting procedure unlimiteds have ever had (since the boats were built to get on plane fast). people gotta complain, and i will join them if h1 goes to assigned lanes. GP hydro is boring with assigned lanes.
There has to be a way to allow boats that get washed down from a rule breaking competitor, prior to a start, to get back to the general spot they had before the infraction. Tate was essentially eliminated from the final through no fault of his own. Maybe extend the millng period, or figure out a way to design the boat so that getting washed down doesn't render the boat useless until it can be re spooled.
5 boat overlap was served and #9 legally moved over on the #9. When #1 and #9 cut the course, Tate had plenty of time to avoid going through wash, but he kept his speed up. There should not have been any penalties in the final heat!!!
I’d like to say thanks to H1 for extending their coverage of Seafair to include coverage of the HRL event in New York. It was a good day to be watching their UA-cam feed.
Andrew drove a helluva race with no canard and the other damage suffered in the final.
Ran the whole race without a canard, pretty impressive
In the worst water. That's pretty impressive.

so it was both JMK and Corey… unbelievable
Not only that, but they got him twice!
Yeah and Andrew Tate got screwed in this race
Peabody needs to sit the f out next race.
@@markconner3234 Amen! He's a nasty driver. No class.
@@MX304 Makes you wonder if it's deliberate. They can't beat him when it's fair and square so they want to just take him out.

I agree
Controversy aside what a great video! Thanks to H1 on the ride along.
that turn into the other two was some hydro thunder stuff and I love it
The boat on the track has right away 9 and 1 should have been penalties

Whats the rule for "right-of-way" for boats on course vs boats cutting course?
Boats are allowed to cut the course like that to stop another boat from getting a lane.
So h1 makes no call when at had the right of way on the course and the canard is ripped off. Then cp pulls a punk move and washes him down.
they were far enough ahead that there was no right of way issue.
same exact thing happened last year with andrew cutting and mike going through the tail. Andrew just got unlucky with canard being ripped off
