A fun, wonderful flick! Great script, actors, never gets old! Plus, little Gypsie is simply too cute!!
I loved this movie and haven't seen it in 20 years. ALL of the performers were just FANTASTIC! I will be watching it tomorrow.
In the early 2000’s when I was a kid I watched this movie religiously. Clint Walker and Leo Gordon did a great job in this movie. It had a lot of suspense and action, think I’ll watch it again.
Leo Gordon was a great character actor - I remember him from so many different films and TV shows.
The story line is exactly that of "Jaws". The locals can't fight the creature, so they hire a bounty hunter. Bear of shark- the story line the same-basically. Always loved this under rated classic. Clint Walker had a great natural physique and a good man. Solid Cast.
yeah and the guy in the bear suit in closeups looked even funnier then the mechanical shark in jaws
I remember watching this movie as a child, this along with watching The Fox & the Hound made me terrified of Bears.
Except Jaws was based off of the New Jersey shark attacks of 1916.
Clint Walker was a Stud! One of the underated unsung leading men of Hollywood
POSIE: from the Dirty Dozen
love Clint Walker!
Hm, I was named after this guy, the "Clint" part, his movie are actually pretty good for the old days not a bad actor. This is the first time I've actually viewed his movies after 35 years!
That bear knows about the pit traps.
What’s miss Hathaway doing on this program? Where’s Jed and Granny?
I remember Leo on Andy Griffith Show great actor
I have been such a fan of Leo Gordon ever since I was a little girl, I have always had a thing for cool faces and Leo's was one of the best. My favorite role he did was as Milo Stovroupolis in Little House on the Prairie, in that you really got to see a softer side to him. He was a wonderful actor. His life was so facinating too, from convict to movie star. I was wondering if anyone knew what he was like in real life, his personality and stuff. If anyone knows about that, I would love to hear it
I believe that Leo and Clint Walker were good friends in real life. That should give you an idea of what he was probably like knowing what a great, good man Clint was.
Gordon was great in this film.
He was great!
@natrambova Leo was Great..I really liked him in this role..
His 44-40 was too light for a big griz but he eventually killed it.
punda milia, Agreed, if it was a 44-40. We don't know the date of this do we? I'd never want to take on a griz with a 44-40, even though a couple of well placed shots would do it. Well, maybe a whole lot of shots. Is there a good close up of the rifle to see which model it is? Likely they just used a prop standard Winchester 1894. The 1886 Winchester in 45-70 or the bigger Sharps cartridges could have done the griz in with no problem.
@@normanbraslow7902 In the beginning of the movie the town banker was at his ranch telling him about Ol Satan, and Clint said "A winchester 44-40 should handle him shouldnt it?: The banker replied "It hasnt yet." So I assumed thats what he carried.
punda milia I was not able to see that part. Indeed, from what you say it was a 44-40. If this was real life, it would have taken that many shots to bring the bear down. That round, particularly in black powder, would be a pipsqueak to use. I'd never do it. It's ok for medium sized deer, but I'd not try it on an elk or moose. But, who really cares? It's a Movie!
@@normanbraslow7902 But I think they had inherited the ranch and rode up from some state that didnt have grizzly bear and Clint didnt know what he was in for. He was probably used to deer and black bear. I bet he went out and bought himself something in a 45-70 after that ordeal.
punda milia I'd say so! The 44-40 would be ok for deer and black bear.
