@Joseph ayala Dr Harrison Pope, one of the leading experts on steroids & male body image, said that pre-80s, the only people who went to the gym were construction workers, labourers and law enforcement. Nowadays most people have active gym memberships. People like Clint Walker and Steve Reeves will always be my favourite. Not just because they were weightlifting in the age before steroids were available (thus showing what the natural body is capable of) but also because of their hard work and commitment in an age where strength training was nowhere near as popular as it is now. They didn't have access to all the tips and literature that is so widely available now. They had to go by what their own body was telling them.
If I remember correctly, Clint trained for a short time with the famous trainer, Vince Gironda. Vince said Walker was by far the strongest and best-built man in Hollywood. Many years ago my then-girlfriend vacationed in California and actually met Walker. She talked about him for months after...I never forgave him for that.
Well, then, you’re the one who is insecure. Maybe she sensed that about you. Or, maybe you can’t pick women who love you for you and not what they think you want. I’ve got a friend who is stunningly gorgeous. I’m talking Hollywood gorgeous. She doesn’t like the attention. She’s very self-conscious about it. Her husband is a sweetheart. He’s a good looking guy but, not what you’d think she would go for. Obviously, he doesn’t like it when men stare at her or whatever. But, she makes him feel very secure. I’ve known them for 40 years and she’s still absolutely gorgeous. Their son looks a lot like his mother. He strikingly handsome but, he is also very self conscious about his looks. Clint made two important key points. It's not about training to be a champion weightlifter it's about keeping in shape, and working out makes you feel better. Most people in the US today have no idea how much better they would feel if they followed Clint's advice. I have a simple gym not unlike Clint's in my home. The whole thing is worth probably around a grand. I use it every other day and have for over 30 years. I am 65 and still going strong. You can too.

My father worked with him in construction in California for a short time. My dad was more muscular than Clint but Clint was alot taller than my dad. Clint 6'6" my dad 6'2". Clint told my dad he had been asked to try out for acting and asked my father to come with him but my dad didnt believe him. So he didnt go. Clint got a roll and my dad missed an opportunity to maybe be an actor. Clint called my dad "Stainless Steel because my dad was also a martial artist and he would punch these rotating roof vents and they would spin around like tops. Everytime I see Clint on TV it makes me wonder what it would have been like to have an actor father. Love Clint in Dirty Dozen. Favorite move with him in it. Clint seems to be a very kind soft hearted gentle giant.
You know he never really made a big thing about being a body builder and using weights, which is exactly what he says in this interview, but in reality he was. What really comes across is the fact he was a very very intelligent man. Walker was a really great Western actor. Old guys always say the today’s actors don’t compare in stature or presence to the old actors, but in Clint Walker’s case its absolutely true. There are no actors like Clint Walker, Hugh OBrien, James Garner today.
What was so impressive about Clint was his soft spoken demeanor. He was a big and powerful guy, but came across so humble and as a truly gentle man. May God rest his soul.

He's also using a lot of training methods that he picked up from training at Vince Gironda's gym.
This gentleman made it to 90. Genetics aside, what surely helped him was that he focused on core health principles (conditioning, rest, diet, calm). Some live that long, but in poor health. Many others dont make it to that age because they exhaust their bodies (sometimes from too much exercise!).

Ever since I saw him in The Dirty Dozen I couldn’t help but admire him as one of the finest examples of the healthy male physique.
A big, rugged, classically handsome, kind, soft & well spoken, gentle and humble man of many talents.
Clint is simply a very decent and humble guy.
That guy was a definite stud. Quiet, strong, powerful, and upright. He appears to have been every bit of the man you saw on the screen. I don't even know how I got to this page, but it was a decent way to spend 5 minutes.
+obbor4 sure was a looker....
What a cool personality! Never saw the show as a kid in reruns like Rifleman or Bonanza but I'm thinking now they might be worth a look. Speaks to a bygone era for sure. Jon Hamm (aka Don Draper) looks a lot like him and I have to think that might have had something to do with his casting.
This guy was built better than today's movie star 'heroes' - and he was an early advocate of weight training back when sports coaches and doctor claimed that it would make you 'muscle-bound' and was 'bad for your heart'.
He's also using a lot of training methods that he picked up from training at Vince Gironda's gym.
"This is 130 lbs"
"Oh."
He curled it for reps like it was nothing. My 1RM is 105 lbs.
@@TheBcoolGuy keep it up man , you are doing great
This gentleman made it to 90. Genetics aside, what surely helped him was that he focused on core health principles (conditioning, rest, diet, calm). Some live that long, but in poor health. Many others dont make it to that age because they exhaust their bodies (sometimes from too much exercise!).
Clint Eastwood AINT GOT SHIT on my dawg
He was a very strong conservative and Christian. A Repub too. He never drank or smoked.
I would love to know more about his Christian beliefs. Did you ever hear him talk about a personal relationship with Jesus? You sound like you know a lot about him. Live in Grass Valley?
Absolutely beautiful!!! LORD GOD, thank you for good men!
He was also not given to swearing, crude language, or gossip. He credits his mother with instilling those traits in him.
He was in a film with Kim Novak, but I can't remember the name of it. Anyway, the one clip of it here on UA-cam was really weird.
Baby Bunny It was The Great Train Robbery, not one of my favorites.
Look at those GUNS!
Don't know if it was true, but I heard they were 20"!
Strict curling 130lbs for reps is extremely impressive.
The man not only had the looks and was absolutelly drop dead gorgeous but he also had a brain and for the looks of it, he took good care of that amazing body of his. Clint Walker simplicity and the way he is so polite in communicating with his audience is something else. Today´s movie stars does even come close to his looks, never mind politeness. God bless you Clint Walker.
He was bicep curling 50 lbs not 35 foo. Holy cow he was a physical monster. Thankss for posting.
The face and body that would shame Adonis 😍
This was before drugs. That enhance. Growth. Harmones, just hard work eating right. And so on
only a true legend can get a good workout in while wearing slacks and dress shoes .
what a fit man he was. rip clint
Wow, it feels amazing to watch him in his home space and such a sweetheart!
Amazing story, he had a ski pole go through his heart in an accident in 1971. He was pronounced dead till a doctor noticed he had a faint pulse. Rushed to surgery and must have done great surgical work!
As for loving Clint Walker... I'm 64 and fell for him at about 9 years old. Absolutely gorgeous hunk of man!!
I loved watching Clint in anything as a kid. His massive stature was so impressive. Shoulders must have been 46" with about a 32" waist. Any guys that have done concentration curls, would agree with me, that 135 lbs is sick. Man was a gentle giant. RIP Clint.
Night of the Grizzly movie shows off his magnificent physique, and it's a GREAT movie to boot.
A very humble man.
JUST LIKE HEARING HIS VOICE...IN CONVERSATION SO NICE☺️
What. A. Beast. I’m a 1000% straight guy- but NO ONE can deny the absolute impressiveness of this guy. GOD level physique.

My man put on a polo, dress slacks, and Oxford shoes, then went to the gym.
He looks like the gigachad version of henry cavill lol.
Very soft spoken and great guy!!
CHAD Walker
If he trained neck he would be unmoggable
He was pronounced dead in 1971 when a ski pole pierced his heart in an accident. After detecting signs of life, they rushed him to surgery. He was working 2 months later and died in 2018 at the age of 90. Boss!
RIP Clint. You are missed.
When his parents conceived him the house was totally destroyed.
Hahahaha
That’s hilarious😂😂😂😂
