- This clip is a bit longer than usual but I thought it necessary to get the main story line. I also love the way Clint falls for a very young Angie Dickinson. Of course this is an impossible love since she is married and Clint will never depart from his moral principles, still the almost kisses and the longing looks between them say so much...One of my very favorite Cheyenne episodes with love, suspense, bad guys, indians, gold, and even a nasty fist fight.
A Classic Episode. Clint Walker, James Garner and Angie Dickinson are true legends. RIP Clint Walker and James Garner.
War Party is the name. This was my favorite episode of Cheyenne. I've never been a big fan of Angie Dickinson but she looked so pretty and sweet in this episode. This was a real touching episode.
Love me some Cheyenne! I own all his episodes and movies and watch him often.
This is so fun to watch. I had forgotten what a TV crush I had on Clint Walker when I's a teen. Now I'm an experience middle-aged (58) woman. Yikes. What a powerful man. Lot of acting going on here 'cause no way those 2 guys could have held on to him in real life if he wanted to toss them off of himself. His scenes with Angie really are heartbreaking. Couple of heartbreakers gettin' their hearts broke. Many viewer tears here.
Heavy sigh...SO HANDSOME.

Big Kitty James Garner was a bad loser when Clint Walker was chosen as Cheyenne he told everyone that they really wanted him (Garner) but ‘settled’ on Clint Walker because Clint came cheap. Garner could never have been a convincing Cheyenne. Clint Walker was born to play Cheyenne.

So interesting to see James Garner as the mustachioed villain in this episode. Roy Huggins almost didn't cast him in "Maverick" because of his "Cheyenne" performances but then saw him in an anthology show called "The Man From 1997" playing a comedic gambler and that was it. Watch Huggins, writer/producer of "Maverick" and "Cheyenne," in his online Archive of American Television interview. Not to mention Garner's, for that matter.
And Clint Walker's.
I wonder if Angie remembered this episode when she starred in Sam Whiskey??..Let me think?? Love scene with Clint or Burt....Hmmm.. No Brainer!!
@HonkytonkSue2 Amen sis. Most guys in those times wanted a girl who could work beside them. However, I'd fake it to be putty in Clint's hands.

As a child i would have missed the inuendos and guarded attitudes to social morays . The subtle anxiety in her voice I'd have also missed .
Does anyone have full episodes of 'Cheyenne' ? I would dearly love to watch the best looking man in westerns, Clint Walker and see the whole story. : )

They have always compared Clint, to John Wayne, .. They have a lot of the same qualities both physically and in their private life.. They are Great American Heroes... But because John Wayne had the good fortune to be first, it was next to impossible for anyone to follow in his footsteps.. I think Clint Walker could have played any part that John Wayne played ,and in some cases maybe better.. If only they had given him the opportunity...
