My sister-in-law and I were on the Island of Maui when we heard that John Denver had crashed his plane and died in Monterey Ca. What a shock that was and a great loss for all who loved this man and his music!
I remember it well. Use to go diving in the bay. It's changed since then. Fort Ord is no longer there. Sad times!

I loved John Denver's singing mostly Take Me Home Country Road . I used to play it in my car going home to see my mom four times a year 1,200 miles away till she passed no reason to go now I pray I will meet her in heaven and Jesus it is very lonely now on this earth now😂❤❤
I began flying at the same time John Denver began his amazing career, and his music aligned perfectly with my new-found feelings of boundless freedom I felt in the sky. He helped me feel the magic, and it instilled a belief that it's always possible to rise to new heights even during times of seemingly perpetual darkness. The feeling remains to this day, as strong as ever. I guess if I had one wish, it would be that I could give such a gift to others before I pass. And given a second wish, it would be that he was still with us.

In Anchorage, AK at the Diamond Center Mall, there's a 13' grizzly on display in a glass case. It was a record. Sure am glad we never met it when we lived in AK. We did have to shoot a cinnamon black bear, though, as he was a rouge bear.

Even thi Bart the bear and John Denver are gone..this movie brought them back.. for me..love this wholesome..natural ..beautiful movie..my first time knowing and watching it..won't he my last..rip John and Bart..

This movie was awesome. John's music will live forever. Bart lives forever in his species and the Indian tribes are so Godly. The appreciation of the creation of God never ceases to amaze me as their humility is so powerful. Long live the Tribes of America.
I lived in Montana for 15 years after retiring from the Navy, I can surly relate to this movie, Thank God, I never had a run in with a Bear!

I’ve always been a big fan of Brian Keith he did a wonderful job of narrating. This was a delightful story. Murdock and Dark Wind were great characters in the movie.
If I were to ever have met John I (like many others) would tell him how much I adore and love him.
This was a very nice movie set in a very beautiful part of the country.There is danger facing this family at every turn in this hostile land.They are greenhorns forced to learn the ways of the land and they do just that in an extraordinary fashion.Thanks for screening.❤

Wasnt staged like this. It's not as fun as even I presumed it would be. It gets difficult real fast when snow accumulates above 3ft and temps hover between 30f daytime and 14 below -0- early morning for 3-5 months a year. Day after winter day you struggle too eat and stay warm.
That was one very good move , the old days was the best had good movie back then ,glad I was there to see them, thanks for the post,

Ive read aviation experts claim that nose dive he took was not something that occurs by accident, those moves are intentional.
Was John Denver suicidal? I dont believe he was suicidal either.

John Denver was my hero growing up. Had every album, knew every song. I was enthralled when he was with the Michael Trio, even sent him one of my own songs! My heart broke when that plane crashed, but I knew his sored.
I have heard rumours that he faked his death and is still alive! I so wish this to be true! Wouldn't that be something! ? Like JFK Jr. and Michael Jackson and Elvis and Lady Diana. I believe there is a long list of famous artists and others who have had to save themselves in this way from the evil Deep State.

This was a Great movie. It was a powerful clean story of survival. It showed that it is possible for individuals from different ages,nationalities,skill and knowledge can work together to help one another.
When I saw that it had John Denver I just had to watch it and so glad that I did...loved this movie

It's amazing how folks all believe in their own gods, but nobody really knows which one is actually real.
But if nothing else we all have faith in something, and will never know whos god is real until we die.
That's why it's just right to respect all peoples beliefs, whatever they may be.

We saw Bart and his owner at the Sportsman show in toronto. He stood 9 feet high on hind legs and didnt need a microphone when he roared. It was the greatest!

Bart was the biggest bear I've ever seen..one of nature's great treasures. I have been on hiking trips to Alaska quite a bit and while it's beautiful out there and I love bears, I was constantly on the alert and I always felt like my hair was standing on end.😅😳

Wish my stuff looked so clean as what they stumbled upon. I live in the Cascades. Was always wet in winter, dusty come summer. Then the big Fire came,, burned most of what I had, and all I built. Now I got black firewood from the Forrest that's left. Makes a mess of everything! Guess I need the "Prop producer here."

It's such a hard work to build anything by yourself, and then to see it destroyed by fire is heartbreaking! 😢
Prop people often don't do research into the props they provide and often they don't have a clue if things should look brand new of aged.
I used to work as a prop person and I had to argue with the producers as they expected to see yellowish newspapers in a play set in the 60's, which is ridiculous!
Common sense is not that common, after all.
I hope life will treat you better from now on.

A gentle movie/story that captured the harsh realities of living In the rockies at a time when the fur traders were disbanding, a pivotal time in US history. Nice story telling. Glad we didn't witness that family's first winter as ill prepared as they were. It would have been brutal! Beautiful scenes.

A beautiful poetry of words said and only brian Keith could narrate them so well! i am so glad it wasn't dan Haggerty Grizzly Adams doing the narration lol . i'd never heard of this movie was pretty darn good I do miss John Denver and always wonder How much more he could have done And how many more people he could have touched with his singing poetry of wordsI i went to a concert of hisI think it was an 86 or 87In the LA area And he Was getting ready to sing Annie's song and he told us that she wasn't there of course they were divorced at that time But he would sing the song as if she were standing beside him And as he was finishing the song she did come on stage and stand next to him And that was her way of saying that she wanted to get back together with him and the audience went completely crazy with happinessI don't think they was a dry eye that night under the stars with John Denver's outdoor concert it was magic! And so were they
