Flying the A320 from Ottawa to Toronto enroute to Orlando in a few days. Super excited to experience flying on such an old aircraft. Gonna be quite the difference to the 787 I’m flying right after that from Toronto to Orlando. Great video as always!
Narrow body domestic is pretty meh, But it's much better than Euro J class. I flew last night domestic on Air Canada 777-300 and that's the way to do it :) The meal service was very good and they had to call the bouncer to get me out of the plane.
Being through the Professional Cooking Course at SAIT, one of our instructors told us if we ever get into the Aviation end of cooking for airlines, remember to season it more than you usually do. At 30,000ft plus food tastes totally different that at ground level. That being the case, sorry to hear about the under seasoned food.
I always try to get on a Wide body aircraft for any of the longer flights, the Business Cass is way better than on the narrow body. YYZ to YYC is probably the limit for a narrow body business class seat for comfort. same on WestJet always look and try to get the 787
I’ve been following your videos for quite a while. I suggest you include your cockpit interactions in the flight deck after your flight in the video as well.
I've been on Air Canada domestic business three times so far, but I've never actually paid extra (two due to only business having fixed aeroplan tickets, and one was e-upgrade), so I wasn't picky about anything and just enjoyed the better service. I also flew on premium economy once on an international flight, but personally, because I can't sleep on planes unless I can lie down, exit row might be better so I have more room for my laptop.
These business seats in the 320 and 321 aircraft are pretty bad, in my opinion. You're right that the backs need padding, but they've never had enough to begin with. I'd honestly rather take 12F on an E175 over these for that reason. I flew YYZ-SFO some years ago in one of them and it was a very long trip. 2A is probably the best seat in the pointy end of the A320
You say that now but when Air Canada upgrades there Boeing 737 Max 8 & 9's you say different for the seating capacity if you fly on them or the A220-300's.
Those poor A320s...lovely birds but their interiors are well past their sell-by date. The IFE and WiFI are so frustratingly slow, I don't usually even bother anymore. Especially since I've flown a bunch on newer aircraft (MAX/220) so going back to this IFE feels like a rip off.
When reading their 2021 EOY results, I saw that they are still planning to fly the up to 16 A320's this year. Considering the age and out of date cabin, curious to learn when they will eventually retire these old birds? Also really keen to see what they do with the A321's given the older cabins and overall fleet age.
@@9999AWC Only thought is that they are holding onto the A320's to help bridge the gap while demand recovers. Once the 737 fleet is fully delivered, they should start to retire the 320's. Also key to note that the A220 deliveries pause in 2023 so I'm curious to see if they look to acquire different aircraft in that year. The A321 fleet is younger (relatively) and if they retrofit the interior and/or bring in NEO's, it would be a great opportunity for growth.
I just flew yesterday Business Class out of Toronto. The equipment was a 777. Great plane. However the Food was terrible. The hot breakfast was Pancakes with Sausage or an Omlette. Both entres were in my opinions JUST TERRIBLE. THE FROZEN CRIOSONT WAS A ROCK. AC get with the Program and get yr on board service and ur food to a acceptable level.
Air Canada should be bankrupt, and boycotted by Canadians for the way they treated their employees by firing them with no compensation for refusing to take an experimental medical procedure
Love the sound of the older CFMs on the 319 and 320s
The engine buzz is amazing
My favourite aircraft is the Aircraft A320. This one is a timeless classic. Amazing catch, and that was the best takeoff I’ve ever heard!
Thanks for the "blast to the past" video Alex, great as usual. Those tray tables in business are impressive! Love a good sturdy looking tray table
I love the sounds of those Air Canada A320 engines!
Holy crap !!!! Theses are sounding soo good
FIRST! Hi Alex! You should do more VIA Rail!
Honestly that wasn't as bad as Alex pretends. I would love to see more VIA Rail too.
@@TheDanx666 Yeah Lol, I travelled on VIA a few weeks ago, It was just as nice as Alex Said.
omg luke you're the isliandia guy

Another great video Alex. So nice to see Ac doing somethings right.
Another great video. All I could think of when hearing the engines during takeoff was that it sounded like a Honda Civic that needed to change gears.
I enjoy how you can hear the autopilot disconnect sound at 8:44
really?

Flew into Toronto that same night, dec 31 2019! Flight of the century. Went through the count down over the pacific and then back in time.

Those CFM’s never get old! Also love how you can hear the AP disconnect just prior to touchdown from your seat.
Must be the best Airbus A320 takeoff I have ever heard!
That 777 in background at 1:57 is no longer with AC as of November 2021 and as always great report!

4:01 That change in pitch sounds like my coffee grinder !
On an A319/20/21 3A is my choice and I promise you I do not put my foot in the gap. Good videos.
Always a great trip Report Alex! :D
Do you have the full take off video? I would love to listen to these engines all day all night!
Great 👍🏽 videa Alex like always

4:55 Godly buzz before hitting on the high altitude.
I always see you on twitter. I’m finally hearing your voice lol
Say Alex, what was the flying experience from this flight compared to the 737 or even 737 Max ?
Spool-up 50% and flex set , man toga srs no blue airspeed alive !
The CFM-phony has never been a movement I enjoyed 🤣
To be honest, I usually skip the take off part of the video, but this takeoff Symphonie gave me goose bumps

Plates and cutlery are back, but the dishes come out with plastic covers on top of everything.
Wouldn’t you have more leg room in a non-bulkhead t to row? I’m 5’8 so I always have lots of room😉

It will be a shame to see these birds leave Air Canada’s fleet!
I Flew Out Of D37 On The Same Type Of Aircraft But To Winnipeg Instead!

Seventeenth comment. Just incase anyone is counting! Great trip report! Keep them coming!

I don't know about the A320s, but AFAIK the A321s aren't slated to be retired anytime soon.

Riding this dinosaur on J to YEG and back next weekend. Not looking forward to it 🥲.

Must be nice rich man 😠

There is a vaccine mandate for passengers in Canada so that's definitely not gonna happen lol
