Ahh good old C-FRAM. I first spotted her overhead a long time ago as a kid, when I first got into aviation. The thought of seeing something going over my house on such a massive journey (presumably YVR/YYZ-LHR) amazed me and I noted the registration. After falling out of love for aviation for the better part of a decade, I found the reg oddly familiar when spotting at LHR back in 2021! It's so strange but I was so happy to see her again.
@@congresssux9766 I suppose that sounds like I'm quite old! Nah it was around 9-10 years ago so FR24 was available, at least on desktop anyway. A long time in terms of my lifespan so far haha
I flew this route 2 years ago and it was a lot of fun! I booked this with LH miles and I was really surprised to see open J seats (AC doesn't release a lot of J seats to partner airlines). This was definitely one of my best redemptions - it cost 40k miles return.
The Boeing 777-300ER is my favourite Aircraft EVER! I've only flown on Air Canada's 777s From Montreal to Athens in Economy class. And I can't express how much of a GOOD experience it was! Although, I'm EARGERLY waiting for AC to get tail and belly cameras!!!!!
It’s perfectly acceptable to break a dinner roll up with your hand. I love Air Canada Signature Class. I have flown it on 777, 787 and A-330s. All excellent.
You got to experience a somewhat rare AC-ism on that takeoff -- the thrust increase, rather than reduction, at changeover from TO to CLB thrust, this is an AC thing where CLB-1 is the lowest derate that is ever selected and if CLB-2 is chosen by the FMC when entering the takeoff thrust, the crew overrides it and selects it back to CLB-1. Usually results in about a 6-8% N1 increase at 1000 feet, rather than the opposite. Not sure if any other airlines do this.
Great video! I used the free texting option on an Air Canada Rouge flight earlier this month! It was great being able to text while I was on my flight!
A bit disappointing as the pilot didn't let the engine stabilize before giving it the full works, that's when that GE90 wail is at its best. Instead, he throttled up slowly from idle to takeoff power. Still, that noise on takeoff is totally worth an upgrade to a higher fare class in my book.😊
I was on C-FRAM last summer from YYC to YYZ, but just in economy class. I made a trip report video on it as well. Flight was great, can't wait for the belly and tail cameras coming soon!
I often book Premium Economy on long-haul flights and have found myself in Business Class on more than one occasion. I'll take it. 😎 On my last big flight (Vancouver to London) I grabbed an upgrade to Premium Economy when I checked in so I could sleep better. I kept my Economy window seat for the flight back, with excellent views from Greenland to Alberta.
Nice review of the flight and AC 777 first class cabin. Won a few bids myself and enjoyed the first/business class cabin flying to LHR (London Heathrow) and back to YYZ. Enjoying the lounge prior with all the crazy security lines was a dream last May, dedicated security line, in and through in minutes and then lounge time to relax, have some food and veg prior to the flight. The gate was a war zone after a 90 min delay, people were short on patience so nice to be in the front cabin and relax once on board in the pod. The night flights are great as you can have a late dinner, a drink or two and then sleep for a good 3 hours before breakfast and landing. Oddly enough the pods as the same for the 777 and 787 series, they are good but a bit tired and outdated vs some of the other airlines who are changing things up to provide a bit more privacy and comfort. Meals are always very good for lunch and dinner, breakfast not so much, was very disappointed last flight with breakfast, no eggs or anything like that, took a double take at what they served, think most people passed on the breakfast which was a shame.
Had the chance to do the exact same thing (cashed in E-upgrade credits), YVR to YYZ earlier this year on the overnight - what a great experience, from the food, to the service to sleeping laying down for better than 3 hours (they had to wake me for landing). If you get the chance, take the upgrade! Worth every nickel/credit!
That’s pretty cool. Glad to see people enjoy flying in style. That’s pretty funny you said “worth every nickel/credit” Are you Canadian, and did y’all change the saying back when Canada stopped minting “pennies”(cents)?
I flew Air Canada Business Class B777-200 from Vancouver to Sydney, NSW in 2020. It was the most enjoyable and comfortable flight that I have ever had in many years of travelling. We started with a delicious meal about one our into the flight then at some point I awoke to a snack. I had another good sleep and then about an hour or before landing I had a wonderful breakfast. Unfortunately while leaving the aircraft I tripped, fell and broke my right shoulder, despite the crew’s valiant attempt to stop my fall. As it was, I was already somewhat disabled and had waited to disembark after the plane had emptied. My visit to Australia and a planned cruise to New Zealand ended in thirteen days in hospital. On the bright side, the ship which I was due to board, returned to Sydney 14 days later with many Covid passengers. Ya win some ya lose some. Much thanks to the Sydney Eye Hospital for their hospitality.
Wonderful review Alex! Clearly, if you can get an up-grade to Signature Class...Air Canada will provide you with a memorable flight...and agreed getting a window seat is great to watch some beautiful Canadian scenery...thank you!
I was lucky enough to fly AC business class from YVR to FRA in 777 C-FIVR a year ago. My other Signature Class experiences have been on 787s including one where I was waitlisted for an upgrade from premium economy and was presented with it as I was boarding. It only cost about CAD200 for a YYC-LHR flight which was a bargain. I've also flown Signature Class from YUL-YVR in a 737 MAX8 which of course doesn't have the lie flat seat. To be honest I thought that was pretty good too considering it was a five hour daytime flight and had no need to lie flat.
I also flew this route a couple months ago, but I was in economy. The flight had turbulence for almost the entire flight! Still, it was fun watching one of my neighbours cover his/her ears (I don’t remember the gender) because of a crying baby on board.
Great vids as always! Still looking forward to meeting you on one of my flight, although I don't know what you look like but I will just spot for a tall guy with a camera LOL If I may, if you are flying in J on one of AC widebody aircraft in future, ask for an Americano instead of the regular coffee, taste much better IMO.
Hi Alex. I enjoy your videos. I have a couple of questions. How many types do you think you have personally flown on? Have you ever been in an air incident of any kind? If so please describe it. Thanks for all the hours of flying enjoyment. I have enjoyed them.
Curious that Air Canadas 777 and 787 keep the green livery while the Airbus go with the new livery , maybe it’s just a new aircraft thing A350 and A320Neos
It's amazing to see another 777 video, I'd love to see you in CYYT again sometime! I spend basically all of my time there and just recently saw your post on that 767F for rouge, love the videos man, keep up the amazing work!
Really excellent video from what I understand there are people in the United States who are United Airlines Star Alliance Gold Mileage Plus members when they need to fly Air Canada signature class because they see it better than United Polaris seats. Since both UA and AC have B777-300/ERs the comparison is B777-333/ER AC🇨🇦 > UA B777-322/ER🇺🇲. I am not sure if the smaller B777-233/LR has this seat too or not?
Last month, I flew on AC B777-300ER from YVR to NRT in the economy class and back via business class. And it was nice that I flew on the exact plane on both ways. As in I flew on C-FIUW on both ways. I am curious, have you flew both ways with the exact same registration?
Ever considered flying one of the cheapest flights in Canada? Flair or Swoop operate Vancouver to Edmonton for $19! Thats crazy cheap lol, comparable to some low lost european airlines
I am unbelievably hyped for AC to get tail and belly cameras
The 777 has them by default, accessible through the IFE and the cockpit screens.
Fancy seeing you here! Love your videos!
Me too I believe I flew in the 787-9 and there were not cameras sadly
Who would have known you would be here, keep up the good work
Yo, bright films I would’ve never imagined you watch these videos

How did you know what aircraft flew over you as a kid?
They didn’t have flight tracker or Flightradar24 back then, did they?
@@congresssux9766 I suppose that sounds like I'm quite old! Nah it was around 9-10 years ago so FR24 was available, at least on desktop anyway. A long time in terms of my lifespan so far haha
I flew that plane from YVR-YUL last year i was in the very back
The 777 is one of the best wide body aircraft’s!
Say Alex, ever considered a flight on the AC 777-200LR ?
It is *THE* best.
I found 789 more comfortable for long-haul.
@@eastexotic damn 789 got released. That was one the of the 2040 release planes I saw as a kid, that's crazyyyy
@@Satvik_903 Boeing 789? Dreamliner has been around for over 10 years, I believe. It's a good plane because of the interior comforts, I find.
That looked like an excellent flight. Thanks for bringing us along! A 777 GE90 departure is a bucket list item for any avgeek
I flew this route 2 years ago and it was a lot of fun! I booked this with LH miles and I was really surprised to see open J seats (AC doesn't release a lot of J seats to partner airlines). This was definitely one of my best redemptions - it cost 40k miles return.
Damn that’s a damn good deal for business class, right?
Now they can upgrade, try upgrading before the gate. Not at last minute.
Thanks!
bro paid $2 dollars to not get noticed at all

Thanks for the detailed explanation! That sounds indeed like a thrust increase than reduction😮
GOL does this with their 737 max- not sure if it is the same procedure tho
Great video! I used the free texting option on an Air Canada Rouge flight earlier this month! It was great being able to text while I was on my flight!
6:03 those engine sounds though 😍

What a sound! Always worth a 777 Business flight just for that!
Great video, Alex. Once again, thanks for taking us along.
Always a great day when Mr. Praglowski posts!
Wow, those big GE engines sounding so tuff and powerfull!
Tough?
You should definitely try one of the international legs in AC Signature. The 11 to 15 hour trips is a game changer!
I was on C-FRAM last summer from YYC to YYZ, but just in economy class. I made a trip report video on it as well. Flight was great, can't wait for the belly and tail cameras coming soon!

Excellent video! Intelligent, to the point and with none of the usual fluffy stuff others sometimes overdo. Thanks!
4:54 Godly sound on T/O 🔥🔥🔥

Looking at those engines and thinking how they’re the same size as a 737 fuselage is wild!
Ahhh, no. 737 fuselage is bigger.
How do you guys find cheap prices and upgrades I need some tips for my next flight upcoming.
You gotta love sound of those GE90s switching to climb thrust
A stellar video. Thank you.
I absolutely love watching your videos. Keep up the good entertaining work!
Also your channel deserves WAY more attention.
im going on economy class from DXB to YYZ on august 4th. Hopefully is good!!!!
Was it good?
The old livery is amazing
9A/9K aka baby first class 😍. My favourite business class seat in North America.
I wonder what the emergency vehicles (12:01) were for…..your flight?? Just curious!
nice seat location and beautiful view over yvr! thanks for sharing.
I really appreciated your in depth knowledge about aircrafts! Thank you.
Flying Air Canada 777-300ER Premium Econ in 12 days and I'm super excited!

Considering your seating angle it must feel really strange during acceleration, especially if you're trying to look out the window

Flying Business mostly for the engine sound. We are definitely the same kind of people😆
Wait, are some aircraft still in the frosted leaf livery? I love that design so much, wish they stuck with it.
Nice to see the Brampton Flying Club on departure.
My favourite seat is second last row window in Business. It is the most private.
