Maine Road 2nd night 1996. The home of their favourite football team Manchester City (Blues). A big deal for the local boys. A mighty start (Swamp Song played live till Liam comes swaggering on) and only gets better.
Fun fact, both bros. argued about who was gonna sing the song as both really wanted to, thats why the lyrics "please brother take a chance" and "please brother let it be" are both in the chorus.
Americans realising truly how great Oasis were is always entertaining. The greatest band of the last 30 years, and I can’t over exaggerate just how BIG Oasis are in Britain. The biggest band since The Beatles.
Noel said Oasis wasn't corporate enough for the record labels in the USA like U2 or Coldplay so they didn't bother too much with it. They were huge in Canada and most of South America though!
@@benupton98 Ben... He said the biggest UK band in the last 30 years. Oasis were 90s... Led Zep started 60s. Just to remind ya in case you forgot. Regards. 🥳😃
Wasn’t played on the radio ANYWHERE because it was a B-Side to Wonderwall... A freaking B-Side😂😂😂 I love Oasis live, went to see them several times....but I’d have to say that the studio version is a masterpiece... pure and simple!
I’m kind of jealous of you guys discovering these now , there so good . Wish I could do it all over again. Just look at the crowds . Honestly my favourite ever band . Can’t wait for your next reaction vid 🇬🇧
Personally my favourite version is from Knebworth (which I was also at) as it has such an incredible harmonica playing on it was the legend that is Mark Feltham
This song is an absolute masterpiece. Noel has said this is one of the greatest songs he has ever written and said his biggest mistake was making it a B side! Only Oasis have b sides as good as this!
Rain, eleanor Rigby, baby you're a rich man, I am the walrus, the inner light, revolution, don't let me down and come together. I think the beatles edge it on having the best b-sides
@@johnwedgbury6817 A few of those tracks appeared on albums. Between 94-97 no other band in my life time produced the strength in depth of material Oasis did. B-sides Acquiesce and The Masterplan are classics.
@@johnwedgbury6817 oasis rewrite of I am the walrus turned it into a different beast. I think Liam was thinking about Lennon and "Don't let me down" when he wrote his b side "Won't let you down"
Didn't even make the cut for an album, let alone a single. It was one of the b-sides on the Wonderwall single. Noel's only regret is he should have made it a single
The CD single this was on is an amazing tracklisting. Wonderwall.... Round Are Way.... The Swamp Song ( full version that appeared as a segment on the Morning Glory album ) and then The Masterplan. Always good value purchases when buyinh their records.
Loving the oasis reacts. Its a shame America missed out on the god like genius of Noel Gallagher. Live forever or Cast no shadow live at Maine Road would be worth a reacts.
Wanna check out an absolutely magical Oasis ballad? Try "I'm Outta Time" from Oasis last album "Dig Out Your Soul"! Preferably with the amazing music vid
The story is Liam went mad when noel wanted to sing this song he wrote it and performed it and liam said you don't know how good you are and walked off Noel was a genius
If you're digging Noel sings. Check out talk tonight. On the B side of some might say. He wrote it after losing his shit in the US and going AWOL. Shacked up with some gal somewhere in America for a week and wrote the song about her. Keep up the good work guys ✌️
It's probably been mentioned already but the BEAUTY of Oasis is how fantastic their B-sides are. Worth noting that Noel did say being so stubborn as to insist Masterplan be a B-side is one thing he's since regretted.
Oasis b sides are some of their best. the last cd single I ever brought was an Oasis single. in fact the only cd single I have in my CD collection that are not Oasis is 'love will tear us apart' by Joy Division which was a present from my son. Oasis did bring out a compilation of their b sides called 'Masterplan' and released the song 'Masterplan' as a single at the same time, at least they did in the UK, I don't know about the rest of the world but probably did, it was only really the US that Oasis failed to crack back in the 90's. which is a shame that so many people have missed out on a great band
Talk tonight is another b-side classic. They could’ve made a whole other album out of the b-sides at the time eventually some of them did get out together in the masterplan album
In this version missing harmonica present in many other live! The incredible thing is The Masterplan is a b-side of wonderwall.is not present in any official Album
Noel once said this is the best song he ever wrote. For me it’s definitely a top tune but no way I could choose a favourite. Have you checked out Noels Dead in the water song? Amazing tune
This didn't get played over here in the UK because it was a b side!!! I think that just shows just the complete quality of Oasis!!! But then again they didn't really have b sides, all their songs were amazing, which is why you had to buy the singles, because of you didn't and just bought the albums you didn't get all the songs. This is probably my favourite Oasis song. It is an anthem!!! It does come to more prominence when they released an album of their b sides on an album called The Masterplan!!!
Liam actually wasnt really happy at the fact that Noel started singing some tunes as he felt he was being side lined as he was the main front man in the band.
top this, lads keep doing oasis & arctic monkeys reactions and i’ll keep watching i’m british and I love british bands I love watching people from (subtly) different cultures (and very different cultures) reacting to british bands keep it up fellas xx
Noel sung this on the studio version, I've never heard Liam sing it but I'm sure it'd be biblical!! You really need to listen to the studio version with the full orchestra in the mix.
Giving your oasis reactions another watch as you've got a good collection of great reactions to great songs 🤣. I think you probably know this know but unless u brought wonderwall single or waited for Masterplan album you wasn't hearing this anywhere in 95 as it was a b side(whoevers smart choice that was 🤦♂️🤣), Still a few oasis/liam/noel songs/moments and of course you need to watch supersonic, as it was and Knebworth 96(I was there 😁 lol) documentaries now Knebworth 22 is coming out (I was there 😁lol) 🔥 🔥
again thats the thing with oasis their b sides were better than other bands singles!! take a look at the the video its a homage of Lowrys famous iconic painting called "going to the match".......glorious just glorious
Pissed all over the a side did this and round are way, knebworth and Maine road the casual fans didn't have a clue what this was as they'd tipped up for wonderwall
Noel Gallagher = songwriter deluxe. Not complicated but sounds great! Every guitarist and aspiring songwriter needs to understand it doesn’t have to be complicated. It can still sound amazing w open chords and pentatonic scales. Less is more is apt…..

Suede and Radiohead give them a good run for their money in this respect. Though if you are an Oasis not, you may not know to be able to compare.
