As an American in Texas, this VHS video hooked me to the band back in 96. I was already a fan but when it came out in 97, I think, I never looked back. The energy was unlike anything I’d ever seen in music.
As a crazy oasis fan from the 90's it's so nice to see new people discover them. They were my ultimate favorite band as a teenager and I have nothing but good memories of all their concerts. Even the last concert I saw in which Liam's voice was shot and they were already not talking to each other. They were truly an amazing band and I fell privileged to have seem them at their height. I still love them and you should definitely react to their solo stuff. Noel's music has really changed lately but Liam is still rocking it out.
Amazing night. 28th April 1996. Spent 4 hours drinking on minibus from Glasgow to Manchester then managed to get near the front. I remember the surge pushing us forward as soon as Swampsong started. Brilliant gig. My 3rd of 12 Oasis concerts.
Honestly please keep this up I don’t think I’m alone in loving your reactions to anything but especially oasis. To a lot of people in Britain this band means a lot to them so it’s quite amazing to see it translate 25 years later across a bit old ocean. Anyway, I’m wankered sound good night
Bloody brilliant! My daughters went to the O2 Arena in Newcastle to see Liam Gallagher before the pandemic, they said he was fantastic and so funny but they still hope for an Oasis return.... Great video and reaction lads!
I've been fortunate to see them live 8 times, a band that captured an entire moment in time in British culture is priceless, they rode the crest of the wave that they created! Not sure they translated that well across the pond but nice to see the posthumous respect for these guys! Noel is a British icon and legend!!

This is the "homecoming" gig.. playing at Maine Road, the home ground of Manchester City, Football Club. Oasis went from 1000 capacity gigs to 50K in 12 months. At the time City were, a bit like the Cubs ( for a USA perspective) a team with vocal and loyal support.. but had won nothing for decades. The history of the band and the football team (who are now the most successful team in the UK for the last decade.) are intertwined. I was there that night, and it remains a pivotal moment in English music history. And to this day... when City win a trophy .. they play Wonderwall in the changing room after...
Swamp song is not a b-side. A live version is, but that doesn’t count, as that would also mean Supersonic is a b-side as a live version of that is on one of the singles. Bring It On Down, too. Swamp song was and album track on Morning Glory (twice).
I love your Oasis reactions. You should do the live @GMEX 1997! That concert always gets me in a good mood. Another homecoming gig,the guys are stoned as hell and Liam's voice is out of this world. Greetings from Sweden
If you’re confused about what happened at the start of “whatever”... normally they would let the crowd sing the opening verse, but Liam forgot and sang, which pissed Noel off haha. That’s why he ended up singing the rest of the song
Also, the harmonica player came in too early, which is why both Noel & Liam look at him like wtf? But Liam decided to go with it & also start early not realizing the orchestra would be off. I wish Noel had been more tactful & Liam less sensitive because I'd love to have heard Liam sing that song.
@@hannahprose haha yeah. It also sounds like Noel plays the wrong chord in the first bridge (I think bridge, forgive my lack musical lingo) the “it always seems to me....” he definitely continues the verse chord progression for a bar or two haha. A mess! But still sounds biblical!
Was at this gig, think I was 21 or 22 absolutely loved it but I preferred the earls court one about six months earlier, glad to see you guys enjoying it too.
They were just an epic band! Too bad my American brothers and sisters only know Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova. Their catalog is so deep. Those first two albums and then the Masterplan are amazing. They have 30 GREAT songs that nobody knows about. Daniel is getting a taste here. I’ve turned several friends onto Oasis and they can’t believe how good they are.

The 250,000 at Knebworth was over two nights guys, 125,000 each night.
