Great reaction guys. Try Gas Panic Rock in Rio live 2001. Best live version and nice neat solo from Noel in there. That was the gig headlined by Guns N Roses, Oasis were on just before. Classic gig
The sad thing after you discover oasis is that there's no band like oasis So you ended up listening forever There's no substitute.... It's the most typical extraordinary band if you know what i mena
Spot on, John. I was born in 70’ so grew up w great bands from the 60’s-90’s but Oasis is my fav. It’s the way their songs make me feel. They energize and inspire me. I just love Noel’s writing and he’s pretty great on that outro w that guitar.
@@john_air he said he wrote those first two albums high. On Be Here Now he freaked a little cuz the process changed. He was having to scramble. I think he wrote, BHN, on vacay in Mustique w Jagger and Kate Moss. I think he had rough cuts and added finishing touches.
I still remember waiting for this album, my mom driving me to the record shop on the release day, buying the CD, running into my room and just following along in the lyrics and the feeling and excitement of how much I LOVED LOVED LOVED this.
This version does not even come close to Champagne Supernova at Earls Court 1995, their best performance of that song. Also Supersonic from Earls Court 1995, they will blow you away.
I disagree, I was brought up on there and then Champagne Supernova at earls Court. But I came across this version 5 years ago and seen Noel at his best. To be fair the cocaine injuced Be Here Now tour had a lot to do with it 😂
@@masonmennell8514 I agree, it's a hard trade 😂 but to be fair Liams voice ain't that bad at Budokan either. I just prefer the overall sound at this gig, whole band on form and the extended solo makes it better for me.
love the reactions always found it weird america after the 90s only really knew 2 songs, when the rest of the world they love loads of oasis tracks. oasis back catalogue is full of bangers.
For Noel going off, try Swamp Song from Maine Rd. It's miles better than the Earl's Court version. It's the start of the gig, an instrumental song, Liam swaggers on halfway through to "last-minute winner" type of cheers, then, after he says something to the crowd, the song literally detonates. It's bonkers. And to this day no-one knows what Liam said, not even him, lol.
As an Easter egg. If anyone knows the film snatch. When Brad Pitt gets KO the song is oasis “ fuc*ing in the bushes” enjoy. Not many people know that song.
Fun fact: The album version of this song on Whats the story morning glory - The guitar solo was done by Paul Weller. Noel said in an interview he knows he isn't the greatest guitarist, so he got Weller in to make it better.
I totally agree with you. Oasis's sound was better in the live versions of the songs. As another person mentioned in the comments, Fade in out (maybe in Gmex 97 or from New York Hammerstein Ballroom show from the same era) is a good option for reaction. I would also suggest the live version of "Born on a different cloud" in Japan 2002. It's in the same album as Stop crying your heart out. The song is really underrated and the solo in the 2002 video is awesome with the guitar almost "crying" . Alan White, the drummer, should be mentioned, as well. He is very talented and his role in the sound of Oasis in the era 1997-2002 is significant. Your comments are great.
You really really really need to check out the verve. And when you watch them live... you’ll understand why they toured with oasis! Fantastic British rock and roll from the ‘90s!
94/95 oasis where on fire 🔥 Absolutely incredible, every live performance had something new, Liam sounded incredibly powerful, yet could still do falsetto and Noel was a tunesmith
The Budokan... The stage where Oasis' hero's The Beatles played a rock concert for the first time 32 years earlier in 1966. Fun Beatle fact... At the time, the Budokan was considered a sacred site to some traditionalists. So much so that The Beatles received death threats. MY how times have changed. Loving the channel by the way.
Interesting that you say they sound better live because when they recorded Definitely Maybe they initially struggled to replicate the raw energy of their live performances in the studio.
I spent my formative teenage years during the height of BritPop. Oasis, Blur, Pulp etc. What a time to be alive. The UK music scene was unreal in the 90's.
This version is amazing and if I remember well, Liam had a throat problem and Noel introduced more instrumental parts in some songs. 98 was the start of Liam problems singing.

Champagne Supernova live at Cardiff 1996, the best Champagne Supernova performance, ever. This one may have a long guitar solo, but all the '98 shows did, and Noel was just compensating for Liam who sounded like a fucking frog this night. First and second night are much better, good video though guys.
Apropos of nothing here, guys, but I'd love you to react to Rory Gallagher's Out on the Western Plain (Lead Belly). It's old school, let's say, but Spencer could sing it.
Gem allowed for Noel's tunes to be played as Noel had created, particularly on songs like this (Champagne Supernova), The Masterplan, Morning Glory, etc, etc... So why is that I prefer the classic, 'Bonehead, Guigsy, & Whitey' lineup so much more??!!

Noel is such an underrated guitarist he’s up there with the best and this gig proves it
I wouldn't say he is underrated at all. Think most people know he is one of the greatest guitarist
As a guitarist his guitar work is pretty simple he is however a genius songwriter.
No, just no. Hes a very good guitarist. An amazing songwriter. But he is no where near the greats. From a massive Oasis fan.
