awesome video as always, although the music was pretty loud in this one in some parts when Charlie was speaking. But other than that, keep up the good work! Push ups are amazing!
@@willcozens and may I ask: what do you think about the push up bars/handle thingies? Are they good? Is it better to do push ups on them or am I better off without them?
I'd combine Squats with Push Ups for a more comprehensive workout. Squats, not only so you don't neglect your lowerbody but the squatting movement pattern is possibly the most important. Why? Well, historically speaking when we're resting while awake weve always done it in the squat position until the advent of chairs. Unless we were laying down and sleeping, or moving, we were squatting. We ate from the squat position, and we pooped from the squat position. We used to ride horses that involved pretty comprehensive muscle activation of the posterior and anterior chain in the lowerbody before vehicles and sitting in chairs in those. Sedentary lifestyle is essentially caused from chair sitting to replace all of these aspects of life. This leads to loss of mobility, and atrophy of muscles. So, long story short, Squats AND Push Ups is all you need. I'd even do 2Xs as many squats as push ups, for the aforementioned reasons mentioned. So if you have a 1000 push ups a day goal, have a 2000 squats a day goal. With this protocol you will activate and develop every muscle in your body, on a direct or indirect basis. That's why its all you need for total body development. Now, if you want more than bare minimum for total muscle activation (directly/indirectly) but you want optimal training to directly target every muscle while still having a minimalist calisthenic approach, I would add Pull Ups at half the amount of reps as Push Ups. So if you're going for that 1000 Push Ups a day goal again, that makes a whopping 500 Pull Ups. If you wanna go a step further and train your core directly, which most people do especially with a calisthenics protocol the last exercise I would add would be Leg Raises for Core. And I would do the same amount of reps of Leg Raises as Squats. Total workout would look like Squats 2000 Push Ups 1000 Pull Ups 500 Leg Raises 2000 Do these exercises in a circuit for rounds to accumulate total reps, id say about 10 rounds. So that would be 10X 200 Squats, 100 Push Ups, 50 Pull Ups, 200 Leg Raises. I wouldn't go beyond those big 4 when doing these high reps, simply because its inconvenient and time consuming to be in the 500 to 2000 range with your exercises with too many exercises.
I currently follow a minimalist routine. I started by doing 50 reps of squats, 15 pull ups and 30 push ups. 3x a week. Each week I increased 5 reps. Today I do around 165 reps of squats, 145 push ups and 130 pull ups. Scary results
Thanx for the video. I did about 500 push ups in a week. From tuesday i try the the 1000 pu a day It is not difficult the first day spread over the day. I did sets from 100, 80, 60 pieces. Second day, third day and today is heavy. The third day i did sets from 100 and the last 3 sets 120 pu😃. The 120s i did first time with music. The fourth day i begin with a set of 160 pu. 😁 4 weeks ago i cant do more then 70 pu in a set. After today/the fourth/friday day i take a 2 days break. Tuesday also did 900 squats and wednsday 34 minutes skipping.
Mate if you're doing sets of 100 push ups you're doing relly sitty push ups. Gently touch your chest to the ground, stay there for a beat, explode back up, lock up your arms in full extension and repeat. I guarantee you won't be doing sets of 100
A push up is simple go low thru the elbows and push up with a straight back. My push ups are a lot slower then on 3:10 on the video. Techniques doesnt matter. When there is no injuries and there is result, the push up is good. I think good stretching and stay flexibel is more important then the technique of the push ups. I did about 20000 in the last 2 months and the are good. Pro sporters also doesnt every exercise like it should. Its about what works for u.
The main exercise Charlie Hunnam did for King Arthur was Push Ups, followed by Pull Ups/Chin Ups, Dips and Squats. He did do some weight training along with weighted Pull Ups/Chin Ups.
The second week i begin on monday with the 1000 pu a day. i did sets from 160, 140, 120 and 100 pieces. Second day new record a set from 180 pu. Wendsday a new record again a set from 200 pu. Then 3 times 150. The fourth day the first 3 sets from 160 pu. 😁 Friday i cant do more then 60. Pain in my right shoulder. Saturday 1 set of 200 pu. Also 4 days in a row 1000 pu the second week. Total from 4500 pu. Stil feeling my shoulder, it's getting less. Tuesday i did 1100 squats (800+300) and wednsday 42 minutes skipping.
The third week monday i did 500 pu, not the energy fot 1he 1000. On tuesday i started with the 1000 pu a day, stil little bit pain on right shoulder, i get less. i did sets from 180, 160, 140, 120 and 100 pieces. Wendsday only sets from 140 pu and the last set a new record again a set from 240 pu. Wendsday no pain in shoulder. Saturday and sunday i did 500 pu. Also 4 days in a row 1000 pu the third week. Total from 5500 pu. Tuesday i did 1500 squats (500+600+400) and friday 30 minutes skipping.
Fourth week monday started with the 1000 pu a day.. Tuesday i did 1500 pu. Friday, saturday and sunday i did at least 500 pu. Also 4 days in a row 1000 pu the fourth week. Total from 6100 pu. Tuesday i did 1800 squats and no skipping this week
He had an amazing work schedule for himself can you imagine a thousand push-ups a day plus 2000 and next if he missed a thousand the day before that's amazing but it shows in his body and his character
thousand times? no actor is better than henry cavill as geralt just like robert downy jr as ironman...poor liam hemsworth he will be compared and forever bash as long as he is the new geralt of the witcher.
I was always under the impression you had to increase the weight, not reps. But who am I right?

There are actually 3 forms of progressive overload, although yes adding weight should be the goal. 1. Add more weight 2. Add more reps with old weight until you can add more weight (i.e. 4x10 → 4x12 then add more weight and go back to 4x10) 3. Add an extra set. If you can't either add more weight or reps, you should add an extra set (i.e. 4x10 → 5x10 then go back to 4x10 with a higher weight)
Every morning at 3:30 am my buddy would wake me up to do them before we had morning PT! 12 push ups every minute for a few hours :D Usually about 4.5 hours .. but honestly it gets easy after around a month or .. 4 ahahha
