Dudes in the pen do 200 dips, 500 push ups, 200 chin ups or pull ups amd 500 squats each day. And then they just bulk up with food intake. If you are 250-300lbs and you do that everyday, you will be jacked as fuck. Majority of that bodyweight has to turn into muscle. The key is building up to that number. First set of all exercises till failure, all the rest are sub max sets till you feel a good pump but not tired. Sundays off.
He is so right about the bodyweight exercises. I switched from heavy weights to light weights and a lot of reps... with far better results. Forget what the Body Mags preach at you... its all about the reps...
Just make sure they are quality reps. I lost size when I focused only on reps. Cause I wasn't focused on quality reps. Now I can do much less reps but I'm gaining size and strength again. Find the balance in quality
Honestly it depends on what your goals are, for what he was aiming for, body weight would be preferable but to gain more size in my experience it’s free weights that are the most effective
So I started going to the gym when I was 14. After several years I built up muscles but I noticed that my body became immobile. Although I've stretched a lot, I always feel "pumped up". I started calisthenics when I was 18 and I feel great, have become extremely strong, mobile and defined. I'm 184cm tall and weigh about 80kg without a gram of fat. I'm now 20 years old.
Nice. Whats your workout plan? Im currently going to the gym but as you said your body becomes immobile. Im starting to feel this and I've been thinking if i should change my workouts from gym to calisthenics.
@@kristiyangrigorov5232 My workouts are quite simple, I do full body workouts 3 times a week. I start of with the hardest exercises and then I do the easier ones. First I do 3 sets of 5 muscle ups, 10 straight bar dips and 5 pull ups as a superset. Then I do dips and pull ups in a super set for as many sets as I can. After that I do leg raises for my abs and some jumping squats for my legs. In the end I do stretching for like 10 minutes, my workout are always around 60 minutes.I do short pauses in order to upgrade my endurance, if it's to hard than do longer pauses. I don't really have a strict workout plan, I just focus on dips, pull ups, leg raises and squats because the train every muscle you need.
Do those workouts for 3 years everyday! Remember no a/c during summer, or heater during winter! Eat your 3 meals; breakfast, lunch and dinner. Soon you will start losing your hair. ;) (anime fans you would understand)
People need to shut up about how "Calisthenics is better, it's so much more functional". And to the same degree, other people need to shut up about how "Weight lifting is so much better, you will get so much bigger". Both are just means to an end, using resistance to make the body stronger. Why the separation?
using your whole body to balance engages more stabiliser muscle groups whereas gym workouts focus on a few muscle groups at a time which can lead to imbalances and a disproportionate physique. It's also a hell of a lot more fun gaining mastery of your entire body and when you workout everyday it helps to enjoy it.
Victor B I hate body building and I love calisthenics, I’ll explain why I personally feel this way, number one is my goals as a person, I wanna be lean, fast, shredded with infinite endurance, I don’t wanna be big I think it looks ugly it’s not functional, I wanna have absolute power over my body, and calisthenics gives some everything I want, speed strength endurance good looking body, not to mention all the ability’s calisthenics gives you the pros are God’s look up one arm planche pushups or reverse planche that’s stuff is legendary and you never see a bodybuilder do that
It sounds great for those who love marathons. When you get to 50+ push ups sets and 30+ chin ups sets it gets tedious and boring. I am more of a sprint type person. Mix it up boys. Do what feels good to you.
What does it have to do with being gay or not ?... i just cannot get it, you see, the more you dont want to not be seen as gay, just like right now as if you had something to prove, the more it sounds as if you were hiding something, convince yourself... you sound even more "gay" at the end of the day. I am a man and i dont see anythung wrong with admiting an other man is sexy, good looking etc.. sexuality dont need to be always involved...
I am also following his philosophy of doing bodyweight only. His physique is what I am trying to achieve. Muscular and lean. P.S Being inspired by a man's body in order to workout and achieve your objective does not make you gay.
Maybe his diet is not surplus (deficit or maintenance). If you aim big aesthetics then surplus it's a must. Search for Osvaldo Lugones (and similar "skinny guys"), and try doing their workouts/skills :)
I call them half ups. If your chest doesn't touch the ground it's a half up, if you don't have controlled full range of motion on a pull up, it's a half up.
With bodyweight only training, it's mainly repetition. You won't see gains unless you perform the exercise numerous amounts of reps, unlike when training weighted and using roids.
Well yes you can lose a lot of weight but bodyweight exercises create big imbalances and weakness in the lower body. It also takes a lot of time to progress in difficult exercises and explosive brute strength is basically nowhere to be found. I started with calisthenics and i had weak glutes, lower back, legs in general, weak lower traps, my overhead strength sucked. I got injured when i fell off a house and the doctor said to me that i had weak muscles in those areas. I started oly weightlifting and swimming and now besides the fact that i am stronger than ever, faster in sprinting i also feel better. I havent felt pain in the lower back for over a year .
It takes a damn lot of hard work for 'becoming swollen' and people who lift hard along with fight practice and eat correctly are much better at fighting than this roided actor. 200 reps of few bodyweight exercises make you good at doing those exercises and that's it
You couldn't be more wrong if you tried, fighting doesn't come from how big you are, fighting comes from your cardio, speed and technique, your power is secondary. Also if you think Charlie Hunnam is on steroids then I doubt you've ever been to a gym. Oh and that last part is just pure bullshit I don't know where you learned that but that's very wrong.
You’re actually mad to think Charlie Hunnam is on the juice 😂 he’s probably got one of the best natural physiques, as you can see he’s not “swole” he’s ripped like a fighter would be.
And you are big bear who can lift 300 pounds, idiot he is doing calisthenics which is great for kind of aesthetics not a big anabolic shit, don’t be toxic and keep ur opinion in itself cause no one asked
The workout:
75 dips
75 pullups
150 pushups
150 squats
20 min abs
3-4 sets back extensions to failure
[skipping/ jump rope]
[fight training: boxing, jujitsu etc.]
Thx!

Yeah, he got a point. Calisthenics is meant for fighting. Aesthetics adds unnecessary bulk that will prohibit body movement and slow you down.

Yep

I would still use weights for legs, body weight squats don't really do shit
Not if you add something to it, like jumping, increasing the intensity, the hold, the speed, that can change it.

Steroids aren't ideal when it comes to only calisthenics.
Roids are ideal regardless of training style, you can literally sit on your ass and see gains if you're on a good enough cycle
