This is the fourth video from my December 2012 work experience trip to New York!
Thanks for watching :)
Great landing, nothing out of the ordinary, just minor adjustments, and I've been a pilot for zero years, so I know. Thanks for the video.
Just love it. Makes me feel like a boy on his first plane ride. The weather is stunning. Views are great. And not boring. Brings spirits up to those who dream to travel.
Sir, beautiful fight! Used to live in Jersey, great memories flying in and out twice a month. Thanks for the video mate, Bing
where was the wake turbulence?
ben dunn sleeping
Nice!! Smooth landing and a VERY clean wing!!
Nice!
one of the smoothest landings i've seen! good job!
nice work, and oh! HAPPY5000!!!!
Seemed pretty smooth to me.....Not excessively turbulent....Probably would need to be on board to feel it.
Best video of a airplane-landing that I ever saw .
The original sound is very great and important . Thank you !!!
After 3 yrs still waiting for this turbulent
I almost always get great luck when flying :D Thanks for watching mate!
What a beautiful approach and landing
Love that wing flex.
I really am enjoying your videos and hope you continue to record your travels to share with us. I really think that there are only a few videographers that capture the sounds and convey the feel of flight with your videos. Thank you for your work.
No problem! I'm glad you liked it ;)
At a medical center. Only doing paper work though :P Thanks for watching mate!
No porblem! I love sharing them with you!
Superb!! By far, one of your best vids watching the wings in "high aileron action" while landing! Thanks loads!!
Happy you enjoyed it dude!
What turbulence?........there was none.
Jay Duce wake turbulence...
Dantorp doesn't say that this is turbulence video - he simply says there's wake turbulence upon landing. It's hardly noticeable, but there are often eddies when approaching Newark's runway from the south.
I assume you don't have a dictionary, so I'll copy the relevant portion: turbulent flow can be realized as a superposition of a spectrum of flow velocity fluctuations and eddies upon a mean flow. The eddies are loosely defined as coherent patterns of flow velocity, vorticity and pressure. Turbulent flows may be viewed as made of an entire hierarchy of eddies
Beautiful! Awesome video man!
I was about to say. The title is mis-leading.
I using say that because Delta and Continental are the only two airlines that have purchased the 767-400ER. Delta uses them as a replacement for the L-1011 on high-density routes, however more and more are being used for long-haud and int'l flights. As far as Con, I know they are/were used on the HNL flights and were known for the best dom service to Hawaii.
wow....fantastic approach into EWRs Rwy 04R!
It's a pleasure to see your videos, give me more....;-)
GREAT JOB!
Happy you enjoyed it man!! :D
Wake turbulence is when a plane takes off to close and gets caught in the wake. That happened to me once. The plane will have a slight side to side roll when becoming airborne.
Amazing!!!!! Superb control in rough conditions!!!!
Very stable conditions. Good filming.
Looking for this "turbulance"...
sometimes people dont know what the hell that is lol
Daniel Messias 9:02. Cheers.
Daniel Messias Everyone of his videos is great even though every landing/takeoff is "extraordinary" or special in any way, it is just a clickbait which annoys me sometimes.
great clear view and good camera work keeping whole wing in the frame. Love those turns!
Great approach shot into EWR! Thanks for sharing Dan .. thumbs up buddy!
really liked the fuel depots and the shipping areas...very nice vid....two thumbs up!
Very nice video. Awesome footage of wing operation, and ground features!
Superb kiss landing! I do believe there was some wake.
It's likely since Newark isn't usually very windy...
been following you a long time, man. I notice these things.
I'm glad you liked it dude!
Almost all major European cities are being served by this aircraft at the moment! As well as Sao Paolo :)
Wake turbulence is quite real. The seperation minimums required aren't designed to keep you from hitting it, just to ensure you don't flip over. Unfortunately I've been slapped sideways at 20,000 feet from a heavy 777. It happens.
Great video, your filming is really steady. Gotta love that 764 wing, specially the tapered tip! Never been on one, they are a pretty rare bird...
Glad you liked it dude!
It's a good thing this wasn't am American Airlines flight. 587 showed that before 587's crash, the airline taught to use severe rudder input to escape wake turbulence!
Not really. Wake turbulence is avoided, not escaped, if you understand (1) that wakes follow wind direction (i.e. they "blow away") and (2) sink at a predictable rate. That is one of two reasons for separation criteria built into approach sequencing.
That's pretty common, and AWESOME :P
wow!,the landing was cool, seems newark is also a United base like S/fransisco,thanks for the sharing
great quality and great vid as usual man! :)
I haven't seen United's livery on the 767-4 yet:) Nice view man!
It does! Thanks bro :D
Thanks mate!
I'm glad you liked it bro!
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY FAVORITE AIRPORT!
Great control on wake. I'm cabin crew and we do encounter wake often since at Gatwick we only have 1 runway. Had to do go around since the wake from a 747 landing before us was too much for our A320.
Beautiful video, well shot, nice clarity, great stability. Love that seat just behind the wing, that's the one I choose as well. I bet you chose the right hand side because you knew that you'd be landing parallel to I-95 in Newark. Love that airport, one of my favorites after JFK.
That is a normal landing. It is not always 100 percent smooth.
apparently you can't appreciate good service. A service that was provided to us in the good old days! In lots of foreign places, petrol station attendants wear white gloves and jumpsuits.
Awesome landing really smooth
Great video! There was no turbulence, but I enjoyed the video!! It felt like I was on the flight
looks pretty smooth to me!
2 questions; what camera do you use, and do you fly around for your job? If so what do you do? Excellent video as always :D
Never landed there yet without SOME turbulence. Too many waterways causing thermals but never had a worry of any kind !
Thanks a lot bro!
Thanks dude!
Thanks man! I appreciate it :D
that was a great landing.....!!! cheers to the captain and F/O
U gotta love this!
AWESOME video!!! such a beautiful wing to see in landing!!! :D
love this movie so much bro!!!
Obviously this person has never flown before, or has NO CLUE what the word turbulence means. I would love to see their reaction to real turbulence. It would be priceless!!!
It's quite a surprise that 767-400ER were using raked wingtips
I know! Thanks bro :P
Wake Turbulence was clearly evident, right before touchdown. Plus you can't always get the aspect from a video, you feel it.
Good ol newark EWR airport best and most exciting airport ever miss.it alot i.always took off from there when i was a kid and.lives.of.staten island and deff love the 767-400 awesome aircraft flew to honolulu from newark when it was continetal airlines.
what a nice landing!
Thanks a lot bro! I'm glad you liked it :D
Very nice video; thanks for posting!
I travel every week by air for work, but mainly just USA domestic and to Canada; nothing exciting enough to film. I just subscribed to your channel, keep the good videos coming!
The real treat at EWR is landing runway 29 in a heavy!!
No, John Beirne, the landing was on Runway 4R.
Awesome filming, looks similar to a 777 Wong just sized down !!!
Hey, good nite, mr. Dantorp, thanks a lot again for such a delicious vídeo..!! It makes me remind me, for instance, when I am flying from Campo Grande (Brazil West) to Rio de Janeiro, Santos Dumont airport...( sometimes landing at Congonhas airport, São Paulo, Brazil) I most of the time fly thru Gol Airlines, they operate with 737-800..!! I noticed that when landing the 767-400 engine sounds is kind of different from 737-800..! Wish we had such a great airports you have over there in América..!! I am concerned about this world cup on june..! The airports in Brazil should get better and better..!! Thank you very much, I do love all your planes vídeos..who needs music when you can enjoy that wonderful engine sounds..?! God bless you..!!
Well, good pilots because they are "legacy" Continental. (JK)
Even though the "merger" happened on paper, the legacy United and CAL crews continued to operate their original equipment, and the 764 was original CAL (I should know, I retired there). Now there is a single ALPA pilot contract, sometime in the Fall of 2013 it was signed. However, as usual, there are restrictions on what the two pilot groups can bid regarding their equipment choices, and of course this relates to seniority integration as well.
However, I saw *no* "wake turbulence" (note the proper spelling, please). The landing was on Runway 4R, and depending on the wind direction and velocity it was common to get some turbulence at that point, this is from wind blowing across surface features, like buildings or those cranes near the harbor. This is termed "mechanical turbulence"...the word "mechanical" refers to the "mechanism" of air being disrupted by obstructions as it flows along the Earth surface.

Thanks for your good answer Capt.
Smoooth landing!
did we need to see the whole flight?
This reminds me of the silly ass tricks my aunt would play on me from Thanksgiving until Christmas. She was constantly telling me that she could see an elf or Santa Claus, outside a window, I turned to look, "Too slow" she would claim. Waaa ohh, missed it. I bugs me when I miss something someone else points out, you have to wonder if it's BS or maybe I'm blind. I didn't see any indication of a wake affecting the aircraft.
Panasonic HDC-TM60 and I'm just a student :P Thanks a lot Jack! :D
Newark mostly attracts people visiting New York since it's actually closer to NYC than New York's other international airport - JFK :)
Wake turbulence wasn't noticeable to me...guess you would have to have been on board to observe it
Gosh, whenever a plane turns, it always looks to me like it's overdoing it and is gonna flip over :D
Stunning video!
interestingly enough, UA123 now flies London/Heathrow to Washington/Dulles using a B757 early morning departure
Oh how I envy you! I used to travel a bit with my family but the economic crisis hit hard
Thanks bro! United have a TON of hubs :P
EWR my home airport! I love it! see at 8:50 thats the NJ Turnpike , i love racing the planes on runway 4L/22R and 4R/22L as they land and take off! I usually drive on the truck lane to get a better view and race! wow!
people are saying that the 'wake turbulence' is at 09:02.
thats ballooning... isn't it?
3 years too late, but it's ground effect :)

Hola Puma
It's really fun :P
Well, wake turbulence happens when they lines these planes up "nuts to butts" as the drill seargeant would say!
Beautiful landing! Great vid!
Nice video ones again. Keep up the good work!!
It certainly could be wake turbulence - Depends on the direction and the velocity of the wind at the runway. Wake Turbulence and stick around for awhile.
Thanks bro! :D
Very nice quality on your video!
Cool! What airplane?
