I flew P&W radial engines in the Beaver, Otter, Caribou and the C-47 for the U.S. Army 1965 until I retired in 1976. Beaver and Caribou in Vietnam, Otter and C-7 with the U.S. Army Parachute Team (Golden Knights). The company i was in flew the Caribous from Ft Sill, OK to Vung Tau, VN. Island hopping all the way with two 500 gallon fuel bladders in each aircraft. They all had good reliable engines and i think P&W's jet engines may be just as reliable as GE and RRs. With over 4,400 hours, mostly, in airplanes with P&W engines i have a special place in my heart for them. I admit my bias for P&W.
@@Roboseal2 I don't know how I could've typed it that way lmao...I re-read it and was like ”wtf did I type" lol But yeah, I did have it backwards, it's a GE core and a PW fan.
On spool up, these do make a vacuum cleaner sound since Korean Air B777-2B5/er have these engines December 2006 HL-7733 KAL086 JFK-ICN and January 2007 HL-7743 KAL085 ICN-JFK

Can’t say I’m a huge fan of the PW4000 on the 777, but the PW4000 sure has a big fan!

No way first time seeing a b777neo!
The PW4090s on 777s sound like A380 engines.
And the A350 as well.
Yes thats right because A380 use engine alliance Made GE and PW
I believe it's because the GP7200 engines have a PW core and a GE fan.
You have got that backwards. Its the opposite.@@WildWildWeasel

I love these engines
Yeah but they are under investigation the makers Pratt & Whitney for engine failure.
Basically sounds like A350 but with older technology.
I agree
You mean better?
What seat?
Wish i knew! Def was business class tho

GE & Roy Royce engines for the win .
Wdym this is not a choice dude!
This engine is trying to be like the rolls royce
Or General Electric
It sounds like a lower version of the A321’s engine
Yep, particularly the XWB
Aren't these like the only Boeing 777 operators with Pratt and Whitney engines
I think Asiana and Malaysia use them.
[insert name here] nope, JAL ANA Korean... etc.
i stand corrected

Malaysia has Rolls-Royce.
PW 4000 sounds better than PW 4090
