Yet another reason why artificial intelligence needs to decide cases. A computer would not get emotionally entangled like humans. A torso is all that it would need. Next evidence!
In the Cauvin case they asked the young black girls how they "felt" about what they witnessed. How the F does that matter and why bridle the jury with those emotions.

Exactly and the defense seems to think he played with the heart strings of the jurors but as far as I'm concerned the proscicution has a duty to draw a clear and precise picture of what the facts are and sometimes the jurors may feel sad or disgusted or angry and have those emotions but in the end they make a decision based on the evidence not how they FEEL. So the defense final statements were not great and were quite loaded and quite frankly unprofessional and bordering on rude.

And even after all the torment, grieving, betrayal, etc. that Chandler has inflicted on the remaining members of his, and Cat's family, I'd still be willing to bet that if Bart and Krista were able to speak on their sons behalf, they'd still want mercy for their son. It seemed like (from EVERY person who described them) that they were truly "salt of the earth" people. Genuinely good. And they were quite literally ripped from this world just as they'd begun to enjoy their later years, or look forward to retirement, and spend time just relaxing, and watching their children begin their own lives. Unfortunately, they had no idea as to what monster lurked within their own son.
The things he did to them both in murdering, and post mortem are simply unspeakable. They wouldn't have cared if he admitted that he didn't have the eduvation, job, future etc. that he lied about. I'd bet they'd have stuck by him, and worked it out. But his ego, and warped personality wouldn't let it go.
My heart breaks for Mitch, Barts brother, Cat, her Mom & Cress, and the best friends of Krista and Bart that all have to suffer this senseless loss.

Sometimes the American Justice system gets it perfect. A spectacular judge, the meticulous and compelling prosecution, a defense that knew they were beat and the best they could do was to not prolong the inevitable and a jury that faced a difficult trial, having to see and hear things like that no human wants, and during a pandemic, and they still carried out their duty professionally and quickly.

Thankful for this verdict. The defendant cannot hurt anyone else. The judge was outstanding.

I think it would be wise to have moderators in the chat in the future. Good on guilty. How he sat there, looking with no expressions is beyond me. RIP Bart & Krista. And best wishes to the brother, now he can have peace.

he is weird too. Did you see him on the stand. The mouth movements irritated to no end. Seems void of emotions.

I think Mitchell was probably still on medication to cope with the situation, but I'm sure Uncle Brett will be there for his nephew.

First degree murder is life without parole. Sentencing is a formality in this case

Mandatory life without parole for the charges he’s guilty of. Sometimes sentencing happens even much later so I’m surprised it’s only as early as March.

Kudos to Channel 3000 for their extensive coverage of this trial, their honest real time coverage of this trial and James' daily recaps of what happened in each broadcast. You did a great job and should cover more trials.

Wow, Chandler never NOT once lower his head during the trial, no apparent emotion , always seated straight… no remorse. Very scary.

With the mountain of evidence against him, it would have been unlikely, and a travesty, that he would walk free. Excellent job by both the judge and the prosecution.

He couldn’t even get one single person to testify. I’ve never even heard of that. Ever. There wasn’t a snowballs chance in hell he could’ve been found not guilty.

Thank you to the Dane County Sheriff’s Department for doing the excellent job they did, by obtaining such a huge amount of evidence to prove without a shadow of a doubt that Chandler is GUILTY!
