11:06 the kit didn’t work because it’s not a cd009 transmission. It’s a cd003. I know this because I just had to redo the transmission and clutch after the shifter broke.

I love the truck! That Nardo Grey Supra is nice. I'm doing a full color change on my black 94TT and was going to have it match my Tundra which has the CEMENT paint but ultimately I went with RSP because I love blue and purple.
I did this swap with a VVTI 2J at home. Curious to know what ECU you used. Nice build

That truck is sweet! Great job! If I was that dude, I would put that Shell V-Power Gas in it if I couldn't locate a station that sells E85 fuel. I think the octane rating is 92. That truck would run smooth and quick using that as a second option.

I’m trying to 2jz swap my ‘13 prerunner
Someone in the car club I'm in in SC called holy city customs did this and welded the diff he pulled up to a meet and I heard tire chirp and was like wtf then they were like look under the hood and low and behold single turbo 2j
Can that swap be worked into a 4wd Taco with transfercase and all? I have a Baja Taco and a 2JZ would be insane to be the power plant over the mild 5VZE

@@brendenphillips933 Mines a 2016.. Did you have to do anything special regarding the airbag? I do know I'd have to disconnect battery if I went with aftermarket steering wheel. I sure like the one you went with. Thanks.
@@atomicorang it was honestly the easiest and quickest mods i did. It took about 15 mins start to finish. Yes i undid the battery for 15 mins removed the harness for the air bag and it was easy as that
Steering wheel is momo trek and the hub and quick release are nrg
@@brendenphillips933 Thanks for your response Brendon. I would have done the swap before. I've done this long before airbags were standard years ago. It's the whole airbag deal and the steering wheel control buttons holding me back. I could relocate the buttons on the right side of steering wheel to the dash or just leave removed since I could care less although it's nice to know my mpg on the message center on the instrument panel. Your truck is the best I've seen with the ton of engine swap you've done. Mines a 2016 V6 4x4 and I love it. I came from a 2018 Tundra. I did the Tacoma to replace my Tundra mostly for the gas mileage. Nite and day difference.
