A lesson for kids on the steadfast LOVE of God! -Thanksgiving 2021

🥧🍦Bethy offers a 'SWEET' lesson for kids on being thankful for the little things, like dessert, and the really big things, like the steadfast Love of our infinite God!

Questions for Further Discussion:
1) How does your family celebrate Thanksgiving?
2) What is one of your favorite things to eat on Thanksgiving?
3) What are some things that you are thankful for this year?
4) Have you given thanks to God for the things you are thankful for? Every good thing comes from Him! See James 1:17.
5) What is something about God that you are thankful for?
6) Look up Psalm 136. Read it together and then ask the kids if they can add to what they said in question 5.
7) When is it a good time to give thanks to God for what He has given us and what He has done for us?
8) Will God's Love ever stop? Will He ever stop being good?

Lesson Notes:
Here are the instructions for this lesson so you can reproduce it for your kids or class.
Materials:
-Your Bible bookmarked to 1 Chronicles 16:34
- A piece of pumpkin pie
Directions:
- Talk about the upcoming holiday of Thanksgiving and why we celebrate it. It is a national time to give thanks to God. (You may choose to take time to pray for our nation at this time as well.)
-Ask the kids how they celebrate Thanksgiving, what foods do you eat? What traditions do you have?
-Eat a piece of pie and while you are talking (to add some humor) give thanks to God for dessert.
-Look up 1 Chronicles 16:34 and talk about our Good God and how much He loves us! Talk about how His love will never end. That is something really BIG we can be thankful for.
-Challenge the kids to be thankful for big and little things. Let dessert be a reminder to be thankful.
-Ask the questions from the lesson and get your class to engage by responding to what they learned. Particularly, that they would be able to apply these truths to their lives.
All Scriptures were taken out to the ESV (English Standard Version) of the Bible.
