Treasures In Heaven - A Bible Lesson for kids

🪙🦜🏴‍☠🪙Bethy offers a lesson for kids on storing up your treasure in heaven and not on earth. This lesson is a powerful one from Jesus' sermon on the mount. It is a great reminder for Christians of all ages. We get so focused on the things of this world, but the life to come is a much better place to keep our focus!

Lesson Notes:
Here are the instructions for this lesson so you can reproduce it for your kids or class.
Materials:
-Your Bible bookmarked to Matthew 6:19-21
treasure box filled with treasure
-parrot puppet
-pirate costume
Directions:
-Set up pretending to be a parrot who loves their treasure.
-have a helper come in with the parrot puppet from behind a curtain or under the table, to steal some of the treasure.
-talk about treasure on earth. What do we have?
-How can we store it up on earth and how can we store it up in heaven?
-Leave the class with the reminder that this is very important because we want our hearts to be thinking about eternal things and not things that are hear today and gone tomorrow (earthly things).
-Ask the questions from the lesson and get your class to engage by responding to what they learned. Particularly, that they would be able to apply these truths to their lives.
All Scriptures were taken out to the ESV (English Standard Version) of the Bible.
