I know this is an old video but I want to add that the torx bit is a T300 for anyone with a precision driver set. I had an issue with a rapidly dying battery so I disassembled to right before breaking the seal, and hosed the inside with contact cleaner and shook it really hard a few times. This completely resolved the battery dying issue.
Thanks Dean, I needed to replace Fob due to the key blade broke before the pin. Video was great I transferred circuit board and original key blade to a $15 internet Fob and saved me from the dreaded dealers estimate of $450.
Only thing to add is when you reassemble, you need to align the front cover to the spring holding the cover upside down. This ensures the bit of the spring sticking out slots into the front cover properly. Then rotate the front cover anti-clockwise so it is then aligned with the back of the key. This will ensure the spring has tension and the key flicks out properly in the right direction.
Thanks Dan, I managed to fully disassembly my key and reassembly it after fix without breaking it thanks to your very clear instructions! There was probably a bad contact with the battery. You made my day anyway 😉
Thanks man, trying to open my 2019 key for a couple hours...but dang i'm tearing up the plastic. I saw another video which made it look so easy, but now that you mentioned its epoxied I realize how hard this is going to be.
Any chance you can tell me the part number on the inductor coil (I think thats the name. The black circle copper coil above the battery contacts. Would be much appreciated!
TIP : 1. Thank you Dean. 2. I could not open the old cover. Almost stabbed myself with a screwdriver a couple of times!! 3. So I tried a little bit of the heat gun. Very difficult. Because it heats up the key. Also risk of burning the electronics. 4. MY SOLUTION. - SMALL HACKSAW. I simply used a small hacksaw to cut/saw around the seal. Then I was able to pry it open a lot more easily. Hope this helps someone else. Please be careful

Aqui no Brasil, não tem vídeos nessa orientação.
Is there a separate transponder chip? Or is it part of the main board? They used to be pill shaped
It's all integrated. I had to resolder one of the micro pins on the transponder chip
