This my backyard! Words of advice for those intending to go. 1. Have 4wd or AWD if you plan on going past the 5 mile marker. The beach is 60 miles long and unmaintained. There will be debris on the beach. I've seen everything imaginable, from plastic drum to boats to 60 foot trees. Also check the tides BEFORE going. Some areas are unpassable at high tide, so have a plan. 2. There is no cell phone service. Make sure you take everything you think you might need. Check the tides and weather BEFORE you go. 3. During the summer months there is more traffic, especially up to the 10 mile marker. So if you want seclusion you will need to travel farther. Which brings us to fuel, fill up your tank at the last gas station on Padre Island. Soft sand and 4wd will burn up your fuel. Lastly, be safe, watch for turtles and other wildlife. Bring an extra garbage bag and take out more than you bring. Remember the beach is completely unmaintained. One important note, northbound traffic ALWAYS HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY. You never know when someone may have an emergency and needs to get off the beach. Remember NO cell phone service. If you follow these simple rules, you will have an awesome time and be prepared for anything unexpected. Hurry down and enjoy this beautiful national treasure.
Thank you for sharing your adventures. I’m from Corpus and my husband and I once lived and breathed our coast, especially PINS. Just be careful at night because of the Coyotes. If you have a dog, keep it close. Also, jellyfish (Manowar) that have a vicious sting. The waters are usually clear and turquoise in in color during Summer months. There are also Rip Currents that are dangerous for anyone, even good swimmers. Always swim parallel to the beach if you get caught in one. Do not swim straight to shore. You’ll get tired and drown. Sharks run close to shore but are skittish. Fishing is amazing. All waters can be dangerous, but if you stay aware, you’ll have the best time. PINS is our Gem. Have fun!!! Welcome to Texas. 😎🤓🚣🏻♀️🏄🏻♀️🤠🦈
9:10 Lol at first I was like oh he knows about coffee is he an aficionado tho... then he goes yea and a little half and half, FALSE ALARM! Hey great post I really enjoyed it!
Awesome content. Thanks for sharing this. PINSs is our annual spot for labor day and the wind is always howling. Now i know there are days there with no wind and that is just nice to know.
You have a great setup. Would appreciate if you could comment me on the roof tent, and all around shade system you´ve got. We too have a hummer H3, and would love to start having such experiences, as the ones you show in this channel.
First time watching your channel! Great video, well put together. We hang out on south padre island on the other side of the ship channel south of you!!
You can shake some of that seaweed ( a large batch of fresh) in a bucket (preferably a 5 gal white bucket) and watch all the tiny sea life in their natural environment. My nephew loved it and enjoyed releasing it.
How far down did you go? Past the 5 mile marker for sure. For those that are unfamiliar with PINS, fill your tank before going, when your tank gets to half tank that's as far as you go unless you have spare tanks. Many folks have gotten stuck 50+ miles down because they don't consider the fuel needed to get back.
They are the Marchway chairs. We have a link in our Tsar Trail Amazon store. We have used them for years. They are a great chair for the size, weight and price.
You need 4 wheel drive after a certain point on that beach. If stuck, dig out some sand from your back tires and put boards in front of rear tires to drive over for traction.
Seaweed and a 5 gallon bucket will get you out of a pinch. Stuff the seaweed in your tires and soak the hell out of the sand under and around your tires that will usually get you out if you don’t dig yourself down to your axles
He owns a tackle shop in Corpus Christi called Breakaway Tackle. His UA-cam handle is Nickaway. He gives daily beach reports and fishing reports on the weekends. He knows everything there is about PINS. I always plan my trips by what conditions he reports. Awesome video.
I'm planning a trip to padre island with my ultra light hybrid RV and 02 Yukon. An 06 Alpha is for sale in my area. The only thing holding me back from buying it, is it doesn't have lockers. What are your thoughts on locker's vs open diff on the Hummer H3
@@Angel_Ventura915 Ours came with a rear locker only. We have recently added a front locker to it. Both are OEM E-Lockers. They are out there for sale if you are patient. ARB has air lockers that fit the H3. We have several friends using them. Adding lockers to an H3 is pretty easy. Also, we know several H3 owners that don’t have lockers and regularly run trails. Personally, we like having the ability to lock both front and rear. But we ran trails for years with only a rear locker. If the one you are looking at is in good shape and a reasonable price, you can figure out the lockers.
@TsarTrail thats been the most helpful reply I've ever received from a youtuber. Alright. I think I'm going to move forward with trying to get this H3 Alpha. The lady who's selling it, is asking $6k it has 130k miles. And it pretty good shape from what I can tell in the pictures
Hi. Do you remember what kind of cellphone service you received? Was it good enough for Virtual schooling using Teams/Zoom etc? Also. What beach entrance did you use?
When you went there , did you have to pay to camp? And how did you get to that entrance, any certain directions?, we are going in august and are looking for a great spot.
We did have to pay to get in. I think it was either $10 or $15 to get in. We went to the Padre Nation Sea Shore entrance and headed south until we found a nice spot. The entrance is near Corpus Christi.
Beach life looks sweet, I love that stretch of beach where you can drive 60 miles in one direction then turn around and come back. Did y’all do the full drive or just partial to a good camping spot?
We drove until we found the perfect campsite and then stayed there. We didn't go all the way to the southern point. It would have been a lot of gear to pack up. It really is a special place.
I live in Corpus Christi about 45 min out of padre island there another spot out here you should try if you like beach camping called mustang island its just as nice great video check out my video of sulpher springs Tx camping
It's pretty basic for us now. We plug into the 12v in the cargo area and run off of the Odyssey engine battery. We also use a small solar panel to keep the engine battery topped. It's not a perfect system at this point. We eventually will get larger solar and a second battery designated for aux items like the fridge and lights. But so far it has worked well for us.
Tsar Trail you just gave me my push to one buy a roof top tent . I can’t believe you travel in a hummer by the way did you make a video on your hummer because I am very interested if you got a lift and new tires I think you did get new tires because I watched you Moab video . Anyway new fan of the channel your doing what I would like to do .
@@garrysceppa7508 Glad you are considering a RTT. We had wanted one for years before we made the purchase. We love the experience of sleeping on the roof. Hummer? Funny you ask. We are going to do full Overland Walk-around video this week. The video should be posted on the 13th. We have had a lot of requests for a walk around. Yes we are lifted and are running 35's. It's a really good set up. We have future plans to get more lift and a lot more whe travel. Thank you for the kind words.

Great info
Well said. Not too much left out. Important, life saving information.
I love Texas beaches. You can truly get away from it all with miles of undeveloped beaches. One of the best kept secrets of Texas!
For sure. We had a great time
It’s true we have ALOT of secluded spots all over Texas but I must remind u ALOT of bizzare things happen when no one is around 😅 (in texas🤧)
I’m glad you guys got the chance to visit my hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas and camp out on the beach.
It sure is a beautiful part of the country.

We had such an amazing time on the beach. This really was one of our families best weeks.
Tsar Trail You need to tag your videos so they show up in more searches!
@@TexasBroskiActual we are leaning how to tag better and how the UA-cam algorithm works. It's a process. Thanks!
When did you guys go down there? It is pretty hot in the summer.
Thanks for sharing.. I love ur set up..

Nice family time and great video 👍

Hank you for sharing your adventure.
Glad you enjoyed the video. We had a great time there. We will definitely be back.
So cool to have that much beach all to yourselves
Yes, the isolation was great. We felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves.
Padre island looks awesome 😁Great video 👍
Thank you.
Yes it is a beautiful beach.
Beach camping is not for everyone but I love it. I camp with my kids at PINS 6-8 times a year.
love that beach. hope to make it back.
Yes, it's a special place.
Awesome video! Im glad yall love the 3rd coast. I love the video and the set up y'all have. My all time favorite beach in the US.

We have a Tuff Stuff Ranger RTT and a Rhino Rack Batwing 270 degree awning. If we were doing the same setup today we would go with 23zero gear.

Was that a boarder patrol? I’m confused where to go
We never saw Boarder Patrol. We did see a Park Ranger a few times. We were on Padre Island National Seashore.
awesome video, keep it up!
Thanks!
great stuff. keep it up
Thank you!
That's a lot of product placement.. kiss when camping.
Nice 👍
Thank you
What’s the best thing to do in case you get stuck in soft sand? What tool do you use?
You need 4 wheel drive after a certain point on that beach. If stuck, dig out some sand from your back tires and put boards in front of rear tires to drive over for traction.
Shovel, maxtrax and tow straps. Logs or drift wood will help too.
Seaweed and a 5 gallon bucket will get you out of a pinch. Stuff the seaweed in your tires and soak the hell out of the sand under and around your tires that will usually get you out if you don’t dig yourself down to your axles
Did y’all see Nick Meyer? Englishman driving a red pickup with the name Breakaway on the side?
