I noticed MKBHD put up a video about this tablet so I did a search to see who else made a video about it. Clicked on this one specifically because i noticed the stylist on the thumbnail. 👏🏽
That's because Google is way behind the times when it comes to stylus support. Android tablet are practically irrelevant these days as there's really no point in mentioning stylus support unless your Samsung.
I didn't even know it had a stylus... That is one of the key selling points for me as an artist. This looks like a decent alternative to the iPad. I have a Samsung Tab S6 Lite and loved it for how affordable it was with S-Pen support. Edit: $500 is a bit steep when I could buy an iPad Mini 6 or other Samsung Tablets that come with the S-Pen.
I'm watching this video on my pixel tablet and am loving it. Speakers are loud and clear with good balance and I love the porcelain colour. Fits out room astetic perfectly. Lol. Thanks for the vid
It's not multifunctional when the tablet isn't attached. Basically, it becomes an expensive paperweight. Wish Google would have allowed for regular audio casting functionality when the tablet is disconnected. @SomeoneMagical_8
Thank you for talking about the stylus! I actually brought a stylus a month ago in anticipation and got my Pixel tablet yesterday! I absolutely love it!
@@RicardoCantor I'm using the Penoval USI 2.0 Stylus. It's working very well. I've mainly used it in the Sketchbook app. It has a little lag but still very usable. As I understand it, the lag is dependent on the app and not necessarily the pen. I going to also try it in Infinity Painter and Squid but haven't gotten to it yet. Overall, I'm happy with pen capabilities on the Pixel tablet. FYI, I have used Wacom tablets, the MS Surface with pen, various pen displays, I own a Huion Tablet and I also have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8 with a stylus. I don't find the Pixel Tablet with a stylus to be any better or worse then the above mention. I can find pros and cons with all of them but overall they still work for most people's workflows.
I love how the best reviewers in the game on UA-cam. Simply do not do this device justice in their reviews. I really wanted this device but in the UK it is £599 for the 128GB! I just bought a 2TB M1 iPad Pro from Costco for £800 and they are doing the 128GB M1 Pro fot the same price as this tablet! I'll have to stick to my Google Home Max and iPad Pro for now.

Hey! Great job on the review and for what it's intended for. It looks like a great device. It wouldn't be for me but I think a lot of people would actually enjoy this
Tbh looks different enough from the ipad Pro I have to seem interesting. I think someone like my uncle who uses a lot of smart home devices might benefit from this. Someone like me who does digital art or plays high performance games might want to stick with some other tablets. But for basic use as was said in the video, it would do just fine. I do love the concept of the dock they designed. You can use it as a stand or a display or even a DJ device at a party. You can dock it in your kitchen to watch cooking shows or view recipes. I bet you could even play games using Bluetooth controllers.
I wanted not too expensive but decent Android tablet and after all I ended up with buying Pixel Tablet. No regrets at all. It’s not a flagship device but for home use it’s perfect. P.S. The reasons why Android tablets failed to gain significant market share compared to Apple's iPad are multifaceted and include the following: 1. Lack of Optimization: Android tablets lacked the optimization and standardization of hardware and software that Apple's iPad had. Manufacturers used different hardware configurations and customized software interfaces, leading to a lack of consistency and compatibility across different Android tablets. 2. App Ecosystem: Another reason for the lack of success of Android tablets was the app ecosystem. Developers prioritized developing apps for the iPad, which had a larger user base, leading to a lack of optimized apps for Android tablets. 3. Price: Apple's iPad offered a premium experience, and Android tablets couldn't compete in terms of price. Manufacturers tried to compete by offering lower-priced tablets, but this often resulted in poor quality and user experience. 4. Marketing: Apple's marketing strategy for the iPad was highly effective, and its brand recognition and reputation as a premium product were already well-established. Android tablet manufacturers struggled to create a similar buzz or perception of their products. 5. Lack of Updates: Android tablets were often slow to receive updates, which resulted in a poor user experience. This issue was compounded by the fragmentation of the Android ecosystem, with different manufacturers using different versions of Android and offering varying levels of support for updates. Overall, a combination of factors contributed to the failure of Android tablets to gain significant market share and compete effectively against the iPad.
Only reason i haven't gotten the tablet yet is cuz every video i watched makes it seem like it can only be charged by the hub and not cable which would make portability useless. The speaker is also nice which is another thing these other guys made seem to be a useless feature

Dock with a speaker is a good idea. You're right. This idea will likely get copied by other companies. As for the Google tablet itself, it's unremarkable. It's a bit on the expensive side too in my opinion, for the things you get in the package. The tablet (hardware) is worth 250-300 in my opinion, and the dock which has almost no functionality at all (only speaker, and nonadjustable angle docking station) is worth at most 70, AT MOST. It's in the same realm or worse than Amazon bluetooth speakers with Alexa support, Echo Dot different generations, 50, 60, 70 dollars, and those have more functionality than the Google Dock in this package. So that whole Google Pixel Tablet + Dock package is worth at most 370...but they are selling it for 500. This tablet setup definitely has it's use though. You could place it on your kitchen counter for everyone to touch and operate. You could also use it around your pool, or your BBQ area, or your terrace/backyard...whatever your place has. Basically, it's a medium range tablet you can put around a public area for several people to use, and it'll mostly be used for music or some sort of utility purpose (grocery lists, cooking recipes, etc. where it can get a bit dirty/greasy). It's not really a premium tablet you would want to use yourself in private for a long period of time, like watching movies, working (on music, documents, or graphics, or gaming, none of that). It's a casual mid tablet, which is overpriced. Google, thanks for introducing the Dock+Speaker combo though. I'm looking forward to the competitors' versions of this.
