    • @classicepisodesofcrimewatc9971
      @classicepisodesofcrimewatc9971 2 роки тому +3

      No thats not true. If it was true Tribalism, it would be along racial lines, due to American History. This is more likely a mixture of Black appropriation of Scotch Irish culture whilst enslaved in the South, and then later Southern Italian Mafioso culture in cities like NYC, parts of New Jersey, Philly, Chicago etc. Then later in California, a bunch of young black men from Missisipi and Louisiana etc bring the Scotch Irish "Hatfield and MCcoy" type mentality to the West Coast, which they learned from their overseers....

    I'm from Argentina 🇦🇷 I gotta say Bigga is speaking facts. New York is seen as the cultural capital of the world, but specifically Manhattan. Maybe Brooklyn or the Bronx are really Influential among the states or in Europe, but Manhattan is the heart of the city. Madison Square Garden, or Wall Street are famous worldwide, and not just that the cultural impact of that area is huge, for example in my country at university, if you study English, the course of studies includes some material about the Harlem Renaissance. So Manhattan is pretty influential at many levels. Shout out to Math, it's really cool to hear this type of conversations.

    Harlem is Mecca, the Harlem renaissance birthed black culture and hip hop is the children of that. The first black gangsters was in Harlem bumpy Johnson. The first gangs are the whites & in NY the Irish and Italian mob were the first gangsters. The mob(white gangsters) was the first gangs & gangsters publicised in movies. Blacks gangs started in LA by gangs like the Slausons fighting white gangs(Racism) like the spook hunters in the early 1950’s then the vice lords(which is the oldest black gang still in existence from its start) started in Chicago in the 1950’s as well. The black spades started in the Bronx in 1968 for the same purpose the Slausons started, Racism. Raymond Washington started the crips in 1969 at age 15-16. During that time nobody was copying anybody but every ghetto had gangs by the late 60’s. The disconnect happened in LA after bunchy carter got killed(by cointellpro) which was the leadership in the black LA community and left the teens to takeover the streets. Plus in the late 1960’s white flight started which created these gang capitals (Compton, Chi-raq).

    Black Gang culture started neither in East Coast or West Coast. Gang just means a group of people. Now this issue is this no matter what type of society you are always going to have a group of people that have a way of life that is geared towards that environment. So in the case of East Coast and West Coast. The FBI and CIA knew the only way to keep Black People divided is by importing guns and drugs because Black People are already at the bottom of Western Society so if they are not given the right guidance they will fall victim to what is now perceived as Gang culture. Truss it runs deep.

Almost every major city in the US has a Crip or Blood gang. Not to Say Chicago gangs don’t , but if we compare the 2 C’s & B’s literally have a strong influence everywhere & was glamorized on a higher scale (movies & music) plus the drug trade aswell .

    I agree that with what was said where gangs originated from the cities mentioned (NY,LA & Chi). I did a college paper years ago on the evolution of gangs in NY. Yes the gangs in NY started around the 1920s but they didn't specifically start in Harlem. It's was 5 gangs that started around the same time from immigrants coming to America (specifically NY) for a better way of life/freedom due to them knowing what the statue of liberty symbolized(freedom & liberty). Those 5 gangs (one of them was the dead rabbits mentioned in the video) started in the bowery section of Manhattan which is lower Manhattan for those who don't know. Due to the geographic location of Manhattan at the time and there being 5 gang existing at the time that area was nicknamed the 5 POINTS. The 5 POINTS has nothing to do with certain Blood gang or chi-town based gang members who represent the 5 point star.

      L. A. Is late on everything. Y’all really think LA innovated something. LA was copying off of New York from Hip Hop to gang culture. And corny doing it. Even down to the gear. Stop it. It’s the new generation that don’t know the history. Most of the ppl on the west have roots from the South and the Eastcoast. Relax

      LA was dubbed the "Gang Capital Of The World" since "1930".. 120,000 gang members reside in the city, and tens of thousands more in surrounding Los Angeles County...people think that gangs in LA started in the 70s-80s because of the Bloods & Crips when in fact LA gangs have been around since the 1920s

    False. Crips and Tookie and them established in 60s. Crews came Before that. Hispanics establish some in 20s. Gladiators, Businessman etc Were around Before the Black Power Movement made a change in California. Then Crips came after the Panthers. Bloods Were separate small Gangs that officially aligned as anti Crip in the early 70s.
    New York Gangs Way Back we’re more political. Then y’all had posses like “the Warriors” for example. LA Became the Pioneers of Gang Banging which is really different. Chicago was on that Wave to tho theirs had kind of religious connections.

    My experience in Brooklyn was walking into a quad seeing no one at all. At the blink of an eye, I was surrounded by a bunch of dudes asking me who I was going to see. I’m only 5’2”. What kind of damage could I possibly do to guys way taller than me? 😂😂😂 I was just simply going to see my high school boyfriend. Luckily, he let them know who I was. I’m from Brooklyn.
    My husband is from Queens. We have borough debates constantly. Each borough even robs differently. 😩😩😩😩😩
    I wouldn’t brag about tourists going to Harlem. 🙃🙃🙃
