I was in middle school so around 12, 13 was the 1st time we listen to Lil Kim's Hard Core album. We couldn't believe the shit she was saying. But as young girls it made us want to be dress a little sexier and start wearing makeup so yes these female rappers are very influential. We would sneak and listed to Lil Kim and Foxy Brown.
And for me, when Nicki was hot I remember all the girls in my class was kissing all up on each other..acting like they gay. It was like an overnight thing 😐. “Lyrical porn.” That’s the best way to describe the music these women are putting out to the youth. It’s sick that a wholesome female singer or rapper don’t get the same amount of shine.
Industry double standard. Women are not recognized for their lyrical acumen, they are recognized for their sexual prowess. Lil' Kim is a perfect example. They (BadBoy/Big) made her into the image that was presented, but she could literally BODY any male rapper. But sex sells, and no matter how great of a lyricist a woman rapper is, it will be overlooked and will not sell records.
Kim was a product of her environment. She was right there for the shiny suits era, so of course her rhymes about sex and $ sold to the masses and paid for breasts and a fat@ss

The Space Ghost dude's politics are on point (all though, he should wait to disagree until after points are made.) We as humans have yet to see righteous kings in real life (not in allegory.) Historically, they have all proclaimed and wielded unjust authority and failed to serve/help the majority of people under their military dominance. All of the people who do what the socalled righteous king is supposed to, have been revolutionaries. Religious zealots, however, love to romanticize the notion of royalty being a divine inheritance; thus, the Bigga cat and Math getting all irate when Space made that counter point. Basically, he wants them to talk straight instead of using poetic religious rhetoric, so as NOT to misguide the youth moving forward. Something we have to end the cycle of. And finally, funny enough, harlots NEVER destroy revolutionaries... revolutionaries most usually have revolutionary wives who carry on the revolutionary mission after their deaths. And the only people who try to destroy revolutionaries are against the people. Kings, however, are always at odds with the people of the world. So many people are looking to destroy them... because they are not of, or for, the people. A "kingdom" is a king's "domain", and that implies it was gotten by domination. Woor. Djinnocide. Pilledge. Military force. A revolutionary is a child of the village. The village raises the child so the man can then protect the village.
Two words: Damien Marley He's been around for years, but doesn't mainstream appeal, so people don't get to hear his messages. He carried his Father's legacy and maintains his values better than anyone I can name-drop
"It's always more appealing when your message comes from your soul. I know what it sounds like when people tell you 'yo, you know you need to say this, you need to say that... be more appealing, be more that', but that's the definition of selling your soul. When your message is corrupted for the sake of making money, when you alter who you are for the sake of making money, it's selling your soul. Remember that. Don't sell out." I'm just gonna leave that right there.
no, but many play up the sexuality angle. There's a good amount of non sexualized femcees...back then and now. From L Boogie, Rah Digga, Bahamadia, Lady of Rage, RapSody, Mystic, Ill Camille, Sa-Roc, etc. etc
No heated debate necessary because even Latto called out a male rapper for wanting to have s3x for doing a song with her. Then when you deep it Remy Ma, Ms Lauryn Hill, Rapsody, Sa-Roc, Mia X...there are so many names to prove they aren't h0es. Plus content wise.

Rap is a musical version of poetry. In my opinion, what makes rap so unique that it is a combination of poetry types: 1) epic poems that tell a story; 2) ballad poem that is based in legend and folklore. I think where we in the black community get so twisted in our thinking is the concept of authenticity. In order to speak about being a gangsta you must be one. I like this podcast, but y’all gotta stop dismissing people and interrupting them everytime they say something y’all don’t agree with. As a listener, I want to hear ALL perspectives. Y’all jump down each other’s throats every time the other person gives an opinion different from your own. I get that y’all are trying to entertain, but at least allow people to get their points accross before jumping down their throats. And why is there always this energy for females rappers who put certain messages in their music, but not the same energy for male rappers? And lastly, there are female rappers who don’t just rap about sex. Y’all just gotta open y’all’s ears to them.
Previous year when Nicki was not know, no girls was actually like that. So music most definitely is so influential more so than a movie or anything else.
@@Ilovechicago100 Stop it. If you are that influenced by celebrities, you have some issues you need to discussed with your Parents. I loved Nicki super feminine esstic with all the pink because pink was already my favorite color she just made it more acceptable to wear after 12 lol. Then again my Parents taught me that people on t.v are there to put on a SHOW and none of it is real which allowed me to see past that the B.S and into the hard work put into the art and presentation. People like to use music and entertainment as an excuse to do things they really want to do anyway. If you're a whore, you will be regardless.
@@Ladybug-no9sc I think that's the key. We need to teach children that these celebrities are ENTERTAINERS and are putting on a show
Clue word sneak but it still ppl got they own minds
@@KO.42 Exactly. WE the parents need to do just that. These celebrities are just ppl trying to get paid off something they like doing and give Adults & Parents a much needed escape. Felas go to work at a 9-5 daily listening to trap music to get their day started because they enjoy it not because they wanna sale drugs.
Facts it’s definitely lyrical porn out here even on the radio for the kids to listen and the moms don’t even care. Even cardi said she not letting her young children listen to it. These women and babymothers is off the chain.
Many of the fellas are spitting lyrical death and destruction- some of whom led to actual mrdrs, even "Rico charges" - what's worse, "porn" or literal death?
@@youknowwhoyouare2269 you know women will always be scrutinized more
Been like this since for ever lol. This generation didn’t birth that shit.
“Lyrical porn.” That’s the best way to describe the music these women are putting out to the youth. It’s sick that a wholesome female singer or rapper don’t get the same amount of shine.
"You don't got new knees magan" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sean Bigga is great to listen to. I’m glad that he’s on this show.

Industry double standard. Women are not recognized for their lyrical acumen, they are recognized for their sexual prowess. Lil' Kim is a perfect example. They (BadBoy/Big) made her into the image that was presented, but she could literally BODY any male rapper. But sex sells, and no matter how great of a lyricist a woman rapper is, it will be overlooked and will not sell records.
thats a fact
True
Kim was a product of her environment.
She was right there for the shiny suits era, so of course her rhymes about sex and $ sold to the masses and paid for breasts and a fat@ss
Agreed straight from the man above. Fact ✅✔️
Math be dropping mad fire with these sit downs
Because of this episode...I subscribed.💪🏿💯
Yo math!! Sean Bigga has to cut it out son. Was he talking like that when Kim and foxy was out rapping without a message
Man that is called growth. And clearly he has made or had some type of life changing experience that opened his eye's. But u don't think that gangsta rap/Hoe rap has an impact on us?
There were other musical choices back then..that's the issue the industry is oversaturated with stripper bushes. Everyone was not listening to just Kim/Foxy
@@enoughalready71 thank you! There was more balance. Where you had Kim, you had Lauryn. Where you had Foxy, you had Eve. It was a balance. Why don’t people understand this?
It shouldn’t be one Rapsody in a room full of thot rappers
Negative!!! We need Bigga to bring balance and maturity to the table. Can’t always lay in a cesspool.
This is the best non guest panel well balanced . Bigga is essential to the direction of this show .
"Don't sellout, but sale out"

“When you alter who you are for the sake of making money your selling your soul” - Hoffa
Two words: Damien Marley
He's been around for years, but doesn't mainstream appeal, so people don't get to hear his messages. He carried his Father's legacy and maintains his values better than anyone I can name-drop
Well said. Kings are oppressors
Don't sell out."
I'm just gonna leave that right there.
Sorry to say it but sex sells 🤷🏾♂️
You "bought into it", by allowing it to live in your "thoughts" rent-free

no, but many play up the sexuality angle. There's a good amount of non sexualized femcees...back then and now. From L Boogie, Rah Digga, Bahamadia, Lady of Rage, RapSody, Mystic, Ill Camille, Sa-Roc, etc. etc

Thus, we fail to acknowledge an artist's ability.
Big facts!!!!!!!!!!!
