about your hair being dryer on the back, I have the same issue, you can try starting with the conditioning/gel/treatments first on the back to the front. I noticed that I aways putted the products first on the front then my back didn't got a decent attention, after when I started getting more focused on the back my hair improved. I don't know exactly why this works for me but it doesn't hurt trying, right? . also, your hair looks so healthy, I really appreciate the effort that you give to it, love your videos ❤️
i also heard that when washing your hair using hot water it’s similar to heat damage, so in keeping your hair under the running hot water it causes more frizz! i’m not entirely sure if that’s true but i realized when changing the temperature on my wash day the back of my hair is a bit less frizzy!
True! I defo treat the front of my hair different to the back.. Yes I put more product on the front but I was also focusing more heat on the front eg curling/straightening the front parts more often bc they're most noticeable... Thanks for pointing this out, I never realised it before!! ❤️❤️
3:50 I do too maybe it's just that it's a lot tighter so it needs more moisture. I always end up conditioning my back hair with more peoduct and leaving it to sit on for longer. But then again my hair is all around 3 category so it does tend to keep it's shape better. Your back hair also looks like it has a 2c wave type.
Isabella imagine how your hair is going to look when it grows out and becomes more accustomed to the CGM! It is already stunning to begin with. I just wanted to say thank you for making this series even if it has taken a toll on your mental health. You have helped me SO MUCH with my hair. I had no idea mine was wavy/curly until I started watching your videos and trying these techniques. I have so much appreciation for you.
Braids can be a good way to maintain your hair longer before every wash day! two Dutch braids is personal favourite ! If you can do them they can be a lifesaver
Hey girl, I had the EXACTLY type of hair as yours and I've been in a similar struggle. I love to watch your videos and I'm not doing the CGM yet, but two products that seems help A LOT my hair: John Frieda Miraculous Recover (the purple one). It's very light and REALLY reduce 90% of my frizz. Second product that I've been using as a conditioner (I wash my hair every single day) for the past year is the Gliss Hair Ultimate Repair from Schwarzkopf. I know it is a mask and not a conditioner, but is the only thing that keeps it controlled and with nice waves when I want to. I'm Brazilian, currently living in UK, and in Brazil the water was much much better for my hair and skin. When I changed countries, my hair texture changed COMPLETELY!! So I do believe that the water here is definitely some plus on hair struggle. Thanks for your sharing and I'm learning a lot with you ❤
@@bade8821 John Frieda is just an anti-frizz, but a super good one! The mask (that I use as a conditioner) is name Gliss Hair Ultimate Repair from Schwarzkopf (the brands name).
I’m so glad I found a person who is just as invested in hair care as me!!! 😍 Your hair is looking great btw!! Sending love to you and your hair journey.
I’ve been on a curly hair journey as well after figuring out I have curly hair after 16 years of thinking I had straight to 2a waves. I bought an anti frizz brush and I only brush my hair wet in the shower with conditioner and then I comb through it with a pick. I highly recommend it. It’s defined my curls so much more and I have barely any frizz at all
I don't know what's more beautiful, your hair, your face or the way you do your make up! Would you consider making henna freckles tutorial? I know there is a lot of tutorials but your henna freckles look so real!
since i watched your video about flaxseed gel ive been using it every single washday, and its working better for me than any gel ive ever tried before.
Btw: for the little ‘bald spot’ (cow lick) you can just take that secion around it and braid it or pony tail it close to the scalp kinda tight and sleep like that. Took me a good year to do that😅
Dude I never doubted you, and I'm SO PROUD of you for doing research and actively trying to care for your hair. You're doing great, and you've inspired me to do more research on the hair queries I've been having.
Yess ! finally someone ! I was literally out hunting in the comment section to see if is my device or is the audio reaaallly low... I almost couldn't hear anything so I turned on the subtitles
I am so glad you found something that works for you. I was suspecting it might have been function of beauty that dried out your hair because that's literally all I read when looking at unsponsored reviews. The fact that your hair did no react well at first when starting the Shea Moisture products could be an indication that previously used products used silicons or similar smootheners. If you then start a product that does not have it, your hair will be mental for a while, before adjusting to the new silicon free formula. Regarding the protein. In my research I have also found that lack of protein can make your hair dry and frizzy and it's always a very fine and tricky to work out balance between mosture and protein.
About the collagen powder: I'm a medical student and the existing studies about collagen are still not convincing enough. One study showed positive results in taking collagen hydrolyzate for arthrosis and another one showed that it can help with your skin. There is still not enough information and it needs more studies to further prove these results. When you take collagen it provides the amino acids that your body needs to build its own collagen but you can also get these amino acids by eating a healthy and balanced diet. So I think your healthier lifestyle in the last month was the contributing factor for your hair to get better or of course your change in products. Either way your hair looks really beautiful now!
You're right. I should have added that the effects from a healthier diet only show in the new grown hair and the products would be helping with the roots. Sorry for wording it pourly. English is not my native language. Thanks for adding your comment :)
I used a product called curly mouse.. It comes out in a spray bottle and foams up. Then you leave it in like a gel and then scrunch it. It leaves a weird texture before scrunching, but after scrunching it was soft and it kept my curls in place really well. I had one of the best hair days I've ever had.
I do have the same problem as you with the hair in the back, its just so frizzy and dry and i have no clue why? i used to think that wearing it up caused that but ive been wearing my hair down for months and theres no improvement AT ALL. Also embrace your messy waves! ive been looking like a lion lately and people seem to love it lmao
just a thought but it might be the friction the back hair always experiences when we sit, lie down, etc. maybe a two ponytail swayed on both sides of the face. and they might need more moisture and longer time soaked in hair mask. 😅
Yeah that might be it, the section near the crown like, the top of the back hair is the worst its SUUUPER frizzy, lately ive been using curl activator with a bit of water to give it some weight so it doesnt frizz so bad. I like your idea tho lets wear twintails to sleep and see how it goes XD
Is there a reason you don't style your hair (braids, buns, a roll etc) when you are having a "bad" hair day? Ik that's what I do whenever Im not loving my hair texture but don't want to put heat on it... Mines not curly... But just wondering. If you don't you should try it! Totally changes how I feel! Can go from frumpy & down to feeling sophisticated in a chic roll or feeling cute in French plaits! ❤️❤️
i would definitely recommend looking into a curly friendly salon, i recently got my first curly cut and am so pleased with the results, they'll also be able to shed light on our hair's needs
I have the EXACT same wave pattern. Honestly one of the most fucking frustrating patterns. Some days she pops off and curls like a dream, some days I have straight ass pieces and look like a hot mess. I never followed CGM because it really isn’t made for wavies unless your hair can handle so much product. I keep that shit simple, use no more than 2 products if that, I never use heavy creams (usually opt for foam wave enhancers). I stay away from heavy formula gels (only one that works well for me is 2.99 USD and it’s the herbal essence one). I dont care about sulfates anymore, they didn’t deter my pattern. My scalp felt clean and my waves looked BETTER because of the lack of oil and build up. Please have faith in your hair. I did almost 6 years of straightening without heat protectant AND applying leave in while blowdrying my hair (tf?). My hair journey took 2 years before I saw solid waves. In 5 months, you’ve gotten better results than I could have dreamt of at the time! Also, Shea Moisture (for me) is heavy as fuck. The ONLY one in that line that works for me is the thick and curly (pink bottle) line. Try to opt for weightless products. Doesn’t have to be high quality at all, or it can be. Coconut oil is too heavy too, so I do that sparingly in a mask sometimes. What i suggest to any wavy with OUR hair type is to remember we are WAVIES. Still curly, just a different group. Do what works for you. Maybe coco oil isnt too heavy, maybe the entire shea moisture line works. What i told myself was trust the process, and don’t expect 3B curls (my dream previously). Just trust the process, and love your hair for what she truly is!
I have the exact same hair type too but I'm too lazy to do anything with mine so I just watch other people doing stuff with their hair, haha (though one thing I've found is that if I only wash with conditioner it never goes frizzy. I only use shampoo like twice a year if that, and only a dollop the size of a pea rubbed into the roots, not the length. My hair never gets frizzy and stays in separate waves that turn to ringlets at the end :) Shampoo has sodium laurel sulphate in it and honesty it seems like my hair is allergic to that stuff!!)
Here Be Subtitles. See I almost have the opposite problem, my scalp hates conditioner and breaks out when I wash my hair with it so I use shampoo on my scalp and conditioner on the rest of my hair. I've found that the more conditioner I use the more defined my waves are so I try to use leave ins a lot and deep conditioning treatments every so often. I think for my hair the biggest problem is that it's dry but I have to keep using shampoo because my scalp just gets too greasy if I don't 😕

You’re so patient, I’m not sure I could have gone through as much as you have to get to month 5 and finally be happy. Well done!!!
I would guess the front of our hair is less dry because we just touch it more, it might go over our faces when we have moisturizer on, whereas as the back of our hair doesn't really ever get touched or constantly put behind our ears, it's kind of just sitting there!
사라سارا it’s okay to use the stuff the works for you’re hair you just need to make sure you’re taking good care of your hair and not letting the silicone build up

Hi guys, the phrase means : Hi Isabella, each time you're more beautiful. You're my favorite ginger girl from Great Britain. "Rouquin/rouquine" it's someone who has a soft red hair or a light ginger hair
Also silicones are plastic that goes down the drain and into out water. I would advise to ATLEAST limit the amount your using. Even tho I know it’s hard to get off the polished silicone look but it’s better for our environment to limit silicones. :D
Water soluble silicones are not bad because they wash out in the shower but non water soluble silicones require surfactants to be washed out or they will build up, which is a good alternative to sulfates but if you have color in your hair this will strip it out. Just gotta know the difference
For me non soluble silicones make my hair look and feel like straw. The first time I used a silicone free conditioner my hair was soft and shiny. My hair reacts fine if theres a little bit of water soluble silicone.
I completely relate to having hair that has different textures in the back and front. Your hair journey has been really helpful in finding a routine that works for me so thank you! Btw your hair looks amazing now!
If you want to grow your hair research the inversion method. Basically you flip your hair upside down and massage your scalp for 4 minutes. I’m not sure it will be a perfect fit for your hair (since you have some trouble maintaining you curls) but it’s worth looking into. Sorry if someone has already recommended it or if you’ve already talked about it. ps it makes me so happy to see you happier and more confident. everyone loves and supports you and only wants what’s best for you!

I love Mell! I just watched her video talking about silicones & sulfates. My hair is very similar to Isabella’s; mine seems to behave best with a few sulfate-based cleanings each month, and a little bit of silicones on a regular basis. 😊

Your hair has improved so much and it looks beautiful!! Never give up on reaching any goal you want, you're so strong 💗
about your hair being dryer on the back, I have the same issue, you can try starting with the conditioning/gel/treatments first on the back to the front.
Amanda Toledo oh okay I will try that
up!!!
i also heard that when washing your hair using hot water it’s similar to heat damage, so in keeping your hair under the running hot water it causes more frizz! i’m not entirely sure if that’s true but i realized when changing the temperature on my wash day the back of my hair is a bit less frizzy!
True! I defo treat the front of my hair different to the back.. Yes I put more product on the front but I was also focusing more heat on the front eg curling/straightening the front parts more often bc they're most noticeable... Thanks for pointing this out, I never realised it before!! ❤️❤️
I’m so glad that you are embracing your natural hair texture! Looks so great
3:50 I do too maybe it's just that it's a lot tighter so it needs more moisture.
Once I started doing nopoo I realized that before I lost aLOT of hair. It's crazy that I had gotten used to it but now looking back it was so much
Can you explain the "no poo" please? I've heard lf it but i dont understand
@@cocadejamaica5293 it's just basically no shampoo. There are different nopoo methods out there. This website is pretty good www.nopoomethod.com/
Thanks for your sharing and I'm learning a lot with you ❤
On John frieda product, you use the conditioner or the mask ? ^^
Arrasou amg
I know there is a lot of tutorials but your henna freckles look so real!
since i watched your video about flaxseed gel ive been using it every single washday, and its working better for me than any gel ive ever tried before.
girl you deserve the best hair in the world, ALL THE SUPPORT FROM ITALY❤️
Well done on sticking with it girl your hair looks lovely! I wish I had the patience😅
I've just binged this series, her hair looks so good! It looks so healthy.
Idk why but the audio is soo low :(
For me it's fine:)
Yess ! finally someone ! I was literally out hunting in the comment section to see if is my device or is the audio reaaallly low... I almost couldn't hear anything so I turned on the subtitles
Really? I could hear her fine on less than half volume
thanks for the feedback, it's my editing software. i will try to find a way to make future videos louder!
About the collagen powder:
I'm a medical student and the existing studies about collagen are still not convincing enough.
You can't eat something and expect the dead ends to get better. She might see results at the roots, but not at the tip.
You're right. I should have added that the effects from a healthier diet only show in the new grown hair and the products would be helping with the roots.
Sorry for wording it pourly. English is not my native language.
Thanks for adding your comment :)
you have no idea how pretty you are... n also your hair is improving in every video... happy for you💕
But honestly, I love her hair like this, just curvy (curly/wavy) it's so pretty❤️🥺
I’m so happy that your hair is getting better and I’m really jealous
Try spraying the water into your hand and then scrunching to refresh. That will help keep the frizz down on day two.
Your waves/curls look amazing! The difference is massive!
I used a product called curly mouse.. It comes out in a spray bottle and foams up. Then you leave it in like a gel and then scrunch it. It leaves a weird texture before scrunching, but after scrunching it was soft and it kept my curls in place really well. I had one of the best hair days I've ever had.
Wow the health and shine of your hair compared to the beginning is IMMENSE. CONGRATS!
I like your idea tho lets wear twintails to sleep and see how it goes XD
i would get a silk or satin pillowcase, you can get two on amazon for like $10. it helps it be less frizzy and not damage your hair so much!
Its such an improvement from the first month so happy for youu
Is there a reason you don't style your hair (braids, buns, a roll etc) when you are having a "bad" hair day? Ik that's what I do whenever Im not loving my hair texture but don't want to put heat on it... Mines not curly... But just wondering. If you don't you should try it! Totally changes how I feel! Can go from frumpy & down to feeling sophisticated in a chic roll or feeling cute in French plaits! ❤️❤️
I admire how much effort you're putting into your hair! But truly, your hair is beautiful!
Your top is so cute, I want it 😭
I'll never be allowed to wear such a pretty top! It shows a lot of skin😭
@@monisha4703 sameee Lol thats okay tho
i would definitely recommend looking into a curly friendly salon, i recently got my first curly cut and am so pleased with the results, they'll also be able to shed light on our hair's needs
It’s so great to see that you didn’t give up❤️❤️
you hair looks so thick and silky the curls get more and more defined every month it’s crazy!!
Just trust the process, and love your hair for what she truly is!
you are litterally THE QUEEN💖👑✨
A tip that helps my refresh when my hair is kinda dry is I also use leave in conditioner instead of just using water
You have like the exact same hair type as me so I'm so thankful that you try all this stuff so it can give me an idea of how it'll effect my hair!
Have you tried using a stronger hold gel? Flaxseed gel and curl jelly don’t have much hold so that may help your results lasts much longer☺️
Oh dear your hair looks lovely!! I love it. It's gotten quite long and quite shiny. I am so happy your hair has started cooperate at least a little bit. I'm excited to see what's coming next!
i’m so happy to hear it got better!! i have a lot of hair so it takes so much time, i started the 3rd of march so approximately months and i want to try a gel instead of a mousse ( i have 2b-2c hair )
Thank you so much for being my role model, thinking that it’s okay to care about hair ily so much❤️❤️
I highly suspect the protein collagen powder has made the difference! Your hair looks beautiful, shiny and healthy. 👍🏻
Unless she put it on her hair, I doubt it..because it could only affect growth of new hair (few milimeters on top at the scalp).
i have been following you every step of the journey and all i can say is wow. i am so happy for you!! you’re hair looks so great! i’m so happy that you pushed through and continued this journey, especially since you said last month you struggled a lot. really goes to show there is always a light at the end of the tunnel!
Yay! so glad it got better!
Your hair curly suits you so much better then straight! Both is beautiful but i think even tho its a journey your gonna be so much happier with curly hair!!💗 your beautiful!!
You should try the Garnier hair food in alovera. This hydrated my hair drastically as it is an EXTREMELY thick consistency. Lemme know if you try it xx btw LOVE LOVE LOVE your vids 💕 edit: banana and macadamia works even better than aloe Vera to hydrate xx
I would recomend the banana one. I have type 2b-3a and the aloe vera is not "enough" for me ^^
I have to agree, it’s looking lovely!! Also, I spy some gorgeous ringlet type curls forming!! I struggle with the unpolished look but I think this is a straight hair mentality and I guess it takes time to change your mindset. It’s looking really really nice, especially as it’s getting longer.
I can't stress how useful your videos are, everything you say with my own problems and ! Honestly kudos
I started using silicones again and I must say they're the best conditioner. My hair looks better and feels softer.
عرب
Of course it will cause that what silicones does. but be careful :)
@@rechi8256 Don't see why when my hair looks better when I'm using silicone. ╮(︶▽︶)╭
사라سارا it’s okay to use the stuff the works for you’re hair you just need to make sure you’re taking good care of your hair and not letting the silicone build up
I really went through this journey with you with my own hair. It’s super honest and real making me feel less insecure, I kept worrying so much of doing the wrong thing but you made me feel okay about figuring things out. Sending you love and your beautiful waves baby ❤️
Ok but brad mondo needs to react to YOU and your journey- it’s amazinggg and he needs to react to a success story not hair fails 😂💕
That shade of pink suits you so welllllll
You should try something called "new wash" i absolutely love it. It's the first time in years that i dont have knots in my hair

Okay I think I've seriously said this every video, but its crazy to find someone with exactly the same hair issues as me. I'm going to try this Shea Moisture products now, I've been using Aesop for a while and I like it, but my hair still feels so dry! Kinda feels like we're going on this journey together! So happy to see things are looking up for you Isabella!
I don’t know if I have wavy hair.. My hair is board straight on top but has waves underneath and sometimes my baby hairs become ringlets when they get wet or I sweat. My hair is very frizzy when I brush it underneath. Any recommendations??
You maybe have wavy hair, you can try the curly girl method (works for all hair types) and your true pattern eventually will show and your hair will be much healthy and pretty

Wtf?
Spoiler: silicones are not bad!
Spoiler: sulfates are not bad as a monthly cleanser ;)
Spoiler: you don't need even need sulfates to remove silicones.
I completely relate to having hair that has different textures in the back and front. My hair gets wavy in front and curly in the back with coarse strands on the bottom of my hair and fine ones on top. Your hair journey has been really helpful in finding a routine that works for me so thank you! Btw your hair looks amazing now!
Legend says Isabella likes the comment.........
im just very invested into this hair journey its insane

If you want to grow your hair research the inversion method. Basically you flip your hair upside down and massage your scalp for 4 minutes. I’m not sure it will be a perfect fit for your hair (since you have some trouble maintaining you curls) but it’s worth looking into. I’ve been doing it for two months and my hair has grown 4 inches when normally it would only grow 1 inch. Sorry if someone has already recommended it or if you’ve already talked about it.
ps it makes me so happy to see you happier and more confident. everyone loves and supports you and only wants what’s best for you!
