The fact that you’ve made dozens of videos trying thousands of different things on your hair (and testing all kinds of hypotheses) and people still comment the same 3 generic Buzzfeed article advices over and over in each video... sigh. I wish I had your patience lol It’s been amazing to follow your hair journey and also learn about mine in the process💕

It's the water girl. When i lived in Germany my hair fell out so much and it was so stiff und fuzzy. My skin was irritated and it was itchy. I even changed my hair care products but nothing helped. In Germany the water is very harsh and has a lot of calc. But when i moved to Asia my hair was reborn. I did not even change the products that i used to use but my hair stopped falling out and it was so soft and shiny, silky. I was shocked. So maybe thats why Asians have thicker, longer and healthier hair i thought to myself. Just saying that water makes a very big difference.

If you ever need some new hair care video ideas you should look into the "capillary schedule" it's an interesting way to take care of your hair. In the simplest terms it's a schedule for what type of products you should use each wash day depending on your hair type and hair needs, like one week you use nourishing products, another week you use hydrating and once a month you would use strengthening.

I know you did get blood tests in a video (and honestly, standardized blood tests don't make any sense to me because "normal levels" aren't even normal for most people. My iron comes back normal, but taking 70 mg of iron has helped my lethargy). Point is that hormones specifically affect the hair more than we give it credit for, not even considering external methods.

I'm so happy usually my hair is shiny at the roots but the rest is dry and frizzy looking if I don't use a ton of gel after showering (I have sort of wavy hair). The silicone with argan oil kept my hair from being frizzy and made it shiny and flat instead!

I can relate to your hair struggles 100% (I even have the same "golden blond" color). A while back ago it was so bad, that I even got emotional and cried, because NOTHING WORKED!! (and still doesn't by the way..) I used to color and style my hair and I thought that was the reason behind the frizz, then completely stoped everything that could do harm and grew out all natural hair (took good care of course) and turned out that they are just frizzy. They are not damaged, just difficult. Very, very difficult... I was gonna comment this on your hair story video but I figured you probably wouldn't see it since it's not that recent... did you ever consider that your hairs frizzyness may be down to porosity? Hair with higher porosity means that the cuticles are more open which makes it really easy for them to absorb hydration... but means that hydration leaves your hair really quickly too. On the other hand low porosity makes the cuticles lie flat so it's hard for hydration to penetrate buuuut once it does its locked in. Depending on your routine it can be hard to figure your porosity out but there are diy tests you can do to check.

That stuff is witchcraft. I keep waiting for the downside and my hair to fall out but so far no problems and it keeps my hair soft straight and clean. I don’t even have to wash as often. Hey , i used to struggle a lot with my loose to normal curly hair , i had similar struggles, my hair has gotten rlly good now , what i did was get regular hair cuts , deep condition once week , added protein cuz my previous products did not have any , and now i style with a leave in , styling cream, , mousse or gel ( i like a stronger hold cuz i live in a humid area) and seal the cuticle when its dry with a serum , disclaimer my hair is rlly thick and dry so need a lot of products and if a styling cream is very hydrating i’ll skip the leave in

A good tip is to use a no poo mask or conditioner to break down the oil after a treatment... I used to use so much shampoo to try to get the oil out of my hair that the treatment wouldn't even make a difference because the shampoo would strip out the hair. Then I discovered that the ingredients in masks/conditioner are so much more suitable to dissolve the oil and make it so much easier to wash off. You can apply a generous layer of mask/conditioner to your hair before washing it and leave it for 15-20 minutes, and then use shampoo and etc. Or you can actually do a co wash before the shampoo. It helps so much! Love your videos ❤️

There's a permanent dye called Elumen (they also make a clear gloss which doesn't add colour) which is acidic and doesn't damage the hair, it repairs it and eliminates frizz. Maybe it's something you could try out?

Also if you like to make your own masks, and are looking for moisture, honey is a humectant so add that to the oil you prefer and the honey will give it a little ‘umph’! “Honey has both emollient and humectant properties, making it a great hair moisturizer. Emollients smooth the hair follicles, adding shine to dull hair. Humectants bond with water molecules, adding moisture to dry strands. By moisturizing and locking in shine, honey can help restore the natural luster of your hair.”

What works for you works for you. That’s all that matters. Personally, I’m a pretty low maintenance gal (im just lazy tbh) and the only products I maybe sometimes use once in a blue moon are silicone and yada yada free hairsprays and mouse for when I curl or straighten my hair. I have naturally thick curly hair so I regularly get it cut and thinned out and after every wash I just do a blow out and keep like that for a good 3-6 days :)

I succeeded in air drying my hair by braiding it when it's wet. What I do is drying my roots and bangs with the less hot air possible, then I braid just the length and when it is nearly totally dry I let it down and that's it... once entirely dry my hair isn't frizzy

If you ever want to use heat (including using a hairdryer) you should use a heat protector on your hair. It helps hold your hairstyle even if you just blow-dry it.

just an opinion about hair oiling before shampooing it, I've been doing that for months and although I feel like its good for the scalp, I don't think it works well for every hair type when you put it on your ends, since I stopped doing it I noticed my hair absorbs my conditioners and hair mask way better, I dont know if I was just not washing it properly which there's no point in since I was oiling it to protect it from shampoo in the first place, so yeah i think you just have to try and see what suits YOUR HAIR

@consequential corndog I have very fine hair which is straight to wavy so maybe oils were suffocating mine rather than doing anything good

I also have fine wavy hair, idk what porosity but it's virgin hair that I only blow dry on low heat and I've been able to use lighter oils like avocado, jojoba and grape seed on my ends while my hair is still wet with great success, applying it on dry hair makes it look oily. I also can't do oil masks every week or my hair start looking limp

My daughter & I have super similar hair texture to yours naturally, I bleach my roots once or twice a year. My daughter is 4. I don't want this to be some generic comment but I wanted to tell you what works for us, our hair is wavy so it's a mix of both straight & curly, we don't have thick hair, it's fine and it can be alot of fine hair and look full at times lol. We use fenugreek seed leave in that I make for us, it really helps with the texture & frizz, it's cheap & natural, easy to make, I use this 2-3x a week. I make a leave in conditioner using our regular conditioner mixed with water in spray bottle for other days, spray hair with it in the morning before leaving and scrunch a little. I do blow dry my bangs if I cannot get them right. Oh uhm I use serums on our hair that have really helped they are Fantasia IC hair polisher mist & daily hair treatment this really helps with frizz and softness. I wash once a week, I trained my hair to go that long after washing & conditioning well I put both Fantasia products on and this is crazy but I found this loreal heat protective primer, I put this just on the ends and it really helps with overall feel & look, I don't use heat after the primer, I'm not sure why it helps the ends of my hair.. Honestly girl our hair is EXACTLY like yours. I hope these could help you too. I've been on a hair journey since 2012 😅❤❤

The kerastase duo did nothing for my hair personally because it is super long and needs a lot of nourishment and so I gave it to my mum who has short hair and it did perserve her hair colour. I don't know what brand of colour your stylist used, but if it isn't a semi-permanent dye it shouldn't fade that quickly. I reccomend that you visit a hair salon that uses Keune colour. Also Keune products are supreme compared to Kerastase and are def much cheaper. They are a dutch family brand that's been around for a long time. My hair stylist always does my highlights (various shades of blonde permanent colour, no bleach) with Keune tinta colour and it never fades...once it did when I spent the entire summer working at a beach but other than that..no. Hope this helps.

Such a great video summing up all the options. I love it! Also I just want to say that babyliss rolling brush hair drier completely destroyed my hair in about a few months. I loved the result so much I over did it. Because my hair naturally look damaged and over processed! I have followed the curly girl method for 3 years and there is no improvement. I’m so glad I found my holly grail for my “haystack” :) xxx thanks for the tips and quality videos xx

    Hey,
I have the same hair type as you. And the same problems and issues for years. This is what worked for me, maybe it will help you. And it’s from the inside out, not the outside in.
So I’ve been on the ketogenic diet for 7 years now and I have actually increased the size of my hair strands and it’s no longer thin. (I did this for health reasons long hair was a wonderful side effect) I have the longest hair I ever had and hair froth has increased
Wheat and sugar cause inflammation and especially on your scalp it messes up hair growth and stifled the follicle.
Also red meats, fats, and dairy are really good for this. If you have an issue with dairy get none pasteurized find a local dairy farm you’ll be fine it’s amazing.
Soy products have increased amount of estrogen and also damage hair growth. So I would skip the soy milk.
Look into PUFAS, they are oils used in dressing and condiments that also cause inflammation and in this case would again damage hair growth and thickness and fullness.

we have pretty similar hair and i’ve been binging your videos and it’s so interesting! you put so much effort and it’s sad to hear all the hateful comments telling you to just let your hair be. hair is part of a lot of peoples identity and for some people, if you ignore it, it’s fine but for some it turns into a complete mess. let her do whatever she wants with her hair

U know, i was just like u with hair. Always wanted to have long healthy thick hair, did everything u are doing now, then one day i realized i never wanted long hair, my wish was just to feel beautiful even if i have no hair, coz at the and of the day, YOU ARE NOT YOUR HAIR! So in my head i knew what i have to do, i shaved my head. Last year for the first time, and this year for the second time. Now im finnaly ready to leave my hair grow, because i know i would love myself even if i dont have any hair. I loved it buzzed. You become a different person when u shave your head.
I really hope that someday u realize that this prodocuts are not really needed for your hair to be beautiful. Just leave it as it is and stop overthinking about it.
    Xx

ill let you know one thing, i come from finland where the air is extremely dry. my hair never had frizzyness issues and it would never tangle either. I moved to the UK and my hair completely changed, it gets tangly all the time, even within a few hours and frizzy. I think its the combination of water change and the atmosphere, since the air is much more humid. It's just a thought, i know you wouldn't change countries, but your hair could have completely different story in another atmosphere, lke i did. xD

So I only wash my hair once a week and before washing it I use coconut oil or avocado oil and I do take a shower everyday so when I get my hair wet I comb in back so when it dries and falls forward it has volume. I haven't put heat on it or blow dried it in years.

If you don't have time to style after washing your hair, you should try learning to do Dutch braids. They look impressive with minimal effort, won't stress your hair and keep it in place without having to think about it 👀
