Sakurai's wording was very cryptic during the banjo showcase. I will be pretty surprised if it turns out he isn't referring to some upcoming game, or smash ultimate content.
I'm pretty sure that fps reference for banjo's neutral special means nothing though. It was a simple description of a unique feature in Banjo Tooie explaining the origin of the move.
That cryptic behavior, however, is making people, myself included, speculate. It would be a very Sakurai move for it to be just a descriptor.

Joel Watkins well UA-cam makes me sick nowadays everyone doing clickbait, lying and overall pumping out factory content and not content that comes from the heart. DMC2 announced means they will slowly build to DMC3 then DMC4, maybe DMC5 if the Switch can handle it, and lastly Dante in Smash. Itsuno said he would want Dante in Smash when the DMC games get to the Switch. Thus, if Dante is in the second pack, then there would be enough time to talk about it all and add it in.

You just gave me my hopes back. I first thought a Banjo game (remake, new game or port) wasnt comming anymore after that direct. But i started to think about the same stuff you talked about. Now hearing you thinking the same about it, my hopes have been restored!
Just because it's been confirmed that they'll be more DLC after the fighter's pass doesn't mean that characters like Waluigi, Shantae, Ray-Man, Shovel Knight, Dixie Kong, and the likes have a chance in becoming a fighter. Sakurai also said that they are going to be "new game worlds" so I don't think we'll be getting anymore Kirby, Fire Emblem, Mario, Zelda, Pokemon reps (at least that's what I think. It's kinda vague. For all I know new games like Pokemon Sword/Shield and Three Houses might have a chance)
watch the part about pushdustins translation, it seems in japanese it was more open for interpretation and didnt sound like the characters would only be new series.

I wouldn't speculate too much on the other character in the background of Terry's gameplay footage. It seemed to be on the Fatal Fury stage that would come with Terry Bogard. So any number of characters from the game could appear in the background.

Is an "arena" from The King Of Fighters 12 tournament, so it makes sense to have fighters in the backgorun like SF or MK

Sakurai and his team really gave a lot of interesting characteristics to the DLC, Hero with all those specials/spells, Joker with those unique victory screens and Banjo-Kazooie with the Spiral mountain stage.
Idk they feel really unique and well worked, maybe Terry will have something unique as well...

IMO Banjo in Ultimate is the same as Sonic in Smash, both made it in when a lot of people were 100% sure that they wouldn't be on Smash, and now that it happened everyone seems very happy about it, that's why Smash is special, aside from being the biggest crossover on videogame history as well it's a celebration of everything videogame related, and with +200 franchises on the game it's truly amazing how much work and love Sakurai and his team put into it, it's truly amazing and I'm glad that being represented on this franchise (as a fighter, stage, spirit) it's one of the biggest honors on the industry, also, great video PapaGenos!

He is also one of the most demanded characters in general so omg, I hope Sakurai will consider all the fan demand and the backlash his assist trophy caused last year

old kof games have your 2 teammates standing in the background of the stage. so the Ryo thing is kinda interesting. although I think he is just a stage decoration/cameo. I'm interested to see what other characters show up.
@@GabeStOnge kof ain't really about assist. there are only a few games that have them (iirc kof 2000 , 2001 and 2003 kinda) and people don't really play those ones anymore. or people didn't like them as much because of the assists

Sakurai mentioning souls so much might have been hinting at the Sans costume, as Undertale’s plot is heavily based on souls. Heck even the gameplay is based on it, the little heart you play as during fights represents your character’s soul

i really doubt assist trophies will be in the next dlc but spirits, echos and the rest you mention are probably likey
When you really think about it, my costumes are probably harder to make than Assist Trophies. You have to individually rig them, then you have to attach them to the model, and make sure that nothing clips during animation. Assist Trophies require AI, yeah, but their animations are very rudimentary, Mii Costumes must be extremely fluid to respond to player control. I'm not saying that a character being an Assist Trophy makes them likely, it definitely lowers their chance, but at this point, I feel it basically any video game character can be in Smash.
We could probably get an Assist or Spirits Pass

I would love it for Isaac to be back in the running but I don't see how or why Sakurai would want to make assist trophies playable, after he put in the work for modeling them and giving them their own properties and such.
I would love it. I really would, but I genuinely think that we're just getting more third parties.
Ryrule Well, technically, making assists trophies into fighters would actually be easier since they have models that can move, air dodge, etc. Though I don’t think they’ll make assists into fighters either, imo.
