If e3 does reveal 2 characters... one of them would then need an immediate shadow drop to stay on pace to release all five dlc characters by the promised date of February 2020
I feel because Nintendo and Microsoft are the only ones at e3 this time we will get both Banjo Kazooie and Steve. I feel Banjo will come first because their fans were waiting longer. They can have the same reveal trailer and Banjo will represent when Nintendo owned Rare while Steve will represent modern day gaming.
@@explorerboy101 according to IGN, Bethesda, Ubisoft, and Square are also going to be at E3. So it's possible other characters could be announced as well. With that said, while I am a fan of Minecraft I don't think Steve is going to be in Smash, that's not to say they aren't important enough or anything like that, I just have a feeling like other characters could be a better fit for Smash, among other things. Banjo on the other hand I feel would be a great choice for Smash.

I have a feeling Steve won't be in the game, at least as playable. If they announced tomorrow that he is in the game it wouldn't bother me, I just feel like there are bigger name characters that they are probably going to choose who would get a bigger draw than Steve, because despite Steve's popularity most people don't seem to like him all that much. That's kinda what they did with the Smash 4 DLC, made them all characters that people really wanted/characters that had few to no detractors about them being in Smash, and while there is a lot of people that want Steve in, it seems to mostly be a vocal minority as most people seem to dislike Steve or Minecraft as a whole, whereas characters like Banjo or Geno are extremely well loved characters and almost no one has said that they wouldn't want the character in the Smash. Hopefully that makes some sense.
Last time they did DLC they shadow dropped 3 characters at E3 =b so them shadow dropping one makes is possible likely

What I think they’ll do is either Leon with an alt as Claire or they will do Chris with an alt as Jill.
It should be Leon, because RE2 was a big game on N64, and RE4 was a big thing on GCN.

Some alt costumes packs I want to see:
returning costumes, ones that characters lost for ultimate, like black yoshi or fire mario.
N64 pack- a retro, polygonal look for the original 12 fighters
Some redesigns, botw zelda, old twilight princess link, old twilight princess zelda, etc.

I feel like Gruntilda's Lair is the more likely stage pick. Spiral Mountain is definitely the more iconic, but the top of the tower of the first game is so much easier to do. Just do Yoshi's Island, but without moving platforms and with Grunty and/or Great Jinjinator stage hazards. Mumbo as a Mii Costume is a must though.

This seems way to much like a stretch to me. By that logic the small bird stage should be confirmation of a Angry Birds character. Even so, that witch has a lot of things going against it being Gruntilda. Where's the purple scarf? Why is the eye red and not brown/hazel? Banjo fans are so quick to think that he's in when even the most remote reference is shown.
What other references have been shown that triggered Banjo Fans?

I just wanted to add that the Fatal Frame AT kind of felt like more evidence that RE could be in the game as DLC. To me it just proves that Sakurai is willing to represent horror in Smash.

But no, Dante could stand out fine on his own. In fact, if they give him all four of his stances and some of his devil arms, he could potentially be the most complex character in the game (though realistically, I think he'd just bring his sword Rebellion and his dual pistols, Ebony and Ivory). Only part that worries me is that one of Joker's moves is literally Rainstorm but I don't think that would ruin his chances.
@@wherb6140 Don't forget they could integrate devil trigger mechanic, and honestly I don't see why they would limit him to only rebellion, mostly considering what happened that said sword in DMCV
For those unfamiliar with Persona 5, Joker uses modified airsoft guns. So this may not necessarily open the doors for other characters as some might say.
I doubt the ESRB/Japanese rating system accepts that as a loophole.
The problem with that is Persona 5 is Rated M, so most kids wouldn’t have been able to play the game to know that it’s not a real gun. So kids and parents alike have all reason to believe that it’s a real gun, which it might as well be. I’m aware that kids these days play games above their age rating, but in that case it doesn’t really matter what they’re being exposed to if their parents allow them to see it anyway right ? Also, I could’ve sworn that the whole “The gun only works if the enemy imagines it to be real” only works on “Shadows”. Isn’t it a real Gun to everyone else ?
@@nixuniverse5240 I don't disagree with anything ur saying. But the fact remains that Jokers gun isn't a "real gun", therefore there are currently no characters in smash that wield guns that shoot actual bullets. I actually thought Bayonettas guns did, but apparently those are considered energy?
FalseAxiom No Bayonetta’s Bullets are real. The only thing magic about Bayonetta’s guns are that she doesn’t have to reload them (for gameplays sake because having to reload in a Hack n Slash would be annoying asf)

I legitimately think this "Pac-Man cloud" was NOT a Pac-Man cloud, and that the background at E3 wasn't intended to be DK-themed. You guys make yourself look dumb by making such stupid theories. Hell, the witch in question have nothing to do with Banjo in the first place. That's just reaching.

The thing with Jane probably ended up being that the news of a female protagonist wasn't ready, so Nintendo and Atlus didn't want to spoil it yet.
Xbox DLC idea:
If we get Banjo, we should get minecraft armor as a mii outfit. Use 2 stage slots, Banjo for DLC, and Minecraft for free.

I'm personally leaning towards free alt costumes. Having stuff like Wedding Peach/Bowser and a bunch of alts born form the Smash 4 modpacks would be sweet
EDIT: As for characters, my two only wanted characters (Shantae and Rex&Pyra) have been deconfirmed, so I can only hope they change that in the next DLC pack

The Mii costume theory actually makes a lot of sense. Bringing a Microsoft-owned character into Smash would likely be a lot of work, so why not just save time and energy by working with the other companies who are already on board, that way it’ll take some of the stress off their shoulders.
It would be a lot of work but Microsoft and Nintendo have actually on good terms and the evidence is with the release of cuphead on switch
True, but I think we're getting two completely new franchises from some companies we don't have just yet.
I could see the Resident Evil Characters being Leon and Claire as echos, like Simon and Richter. They both are very similar in the games but have different guns, Leon with a shotgun, Clare with a chemical grenade launcher, slightly different pistols, I think there could be massive potential there for two echos.

in a purely technical sense (which is pretty nit-picky) joker's gun is actually just a model gun. the reason it can shoot bullets is because inside the cognitive world (mementos and palaces) all the third parties which are already in ridiculous situations such as sci-fi spaceships or ancient tombs perceive such weapons as menacing and harmful, and because its a cognitive world perceptions shape reality.
it is very clearly basically a normal straight-up gun though.

C06 is the seventh alt because for costume the default is 00 so “Jane” would be joker’s seventh which we have seen is his school outfit

My theory is that Jane was gonna be Ann from Persona as an alt of Joker, since the 6th costume resembles her the most (costume colors and the added effort of being the only Joker skin with a hair color swap, being her hair color). Ann also has ponytails, sooooo....

Master Chief was sadly deconfirmed by a head developer back in early December. Sora might still be possible though.

My dream would be during e3 Microsoft announces xbox live crossplay with the switch, then announces Banjo-Threeie and that it would be coming to the xbox and switch, alongside the announcement of Banjo and Kazooie in smash.
I feel like out of all the spirits, Rayman, Shantae, and a Monster Hunter rep has the highest chances out of all the spirits cause they are only represented by 1-2 spirits. Rayman has characters that were trophies in 4 but are now missing in Ultimate, Shantae is missing a lot of friends, and Rathalos is the only one from Monster Hunter so there are plenty of Monsters left.
But while Shantae and Rayman already have their Spirits, a spirit of a Monster Hunter is still missing. So, in fact, of all the series which already have spirits in Smash, Monster Hunter is the only series I could still see as a part of the DLC packages. (I haven't specifically checked all of the spirits, of course. MH is just the only one where I noticed that at least one spirit is already there, but without a spirit of the main character )
small note on the Tecmo related Spirits....and the Assist Trophy as well. Nintendo actually co-owns Fatal Frame, so while yes they are Tecmo they're also Nintendo. also Joker having a gun means Lara Croft is more possible ( one of the biggest arguments I've seen against her inclusion was her iconic dual Desert Eagles among other firearms form the series )

A/C 3 Remastered is coming to the Switch. Also, A/C had a crossover with Monster Hunter, therefore, making his classic mode boss, Rathalos, possibly.

I'm really not buying the Mii costume theory. For one, like you touched on, it would greatly limit the potential for characters. That means the Fighter Pass roster for this game would have been decided on way back when those Mii costumes were originally created for the Wii U. Doesn't seem very likely to me.
Furthermore, I'm pretty sure Joker is owned by Atlus, not Sega. Similar situation to Bayonetta, I suppose, who is definitely owned by Platinum, even though her original game was published by Sega. So that goes against the idea that all of the Mii costumes in this first batch are tied to Sega per se.
The Mii costumes are not part of the Fighter Pass, they just happened to release on the same day. I feel like Mii costumes might just get dropped on the eShop every now and then as we wait for more fighters.

I’ve been saying the same thing for awhile, Banjo & Kazooie will be shown off in Nintendo’s 2019 E3 Direct and be released later that day. Alongside with them, we’ll most likely get a Banjo & Kazooie Remake similar to what’s been done with Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, but it’ll be available on the Switch and Xbox.
I can see them doing Mii Fighter costumes for Conker and other Rare and Microsoft characters like Steve from Minecraft.
You guys do realize that Xbox Games is shifting to a service rather than a traditional console platform like PlayStation and Nintendo? They have even said they could possibly have their Xbox Live service available on PlayStation platforms. That’s ultimately why they have been open to crossplay.
Gruntilda would make for a nice boss. Even though I like Conker as a fighter more, I definetely like banjo and kazooie and that boss fight would be juicy.

Regarding Mii Fighter costumes, I have my own speculation regarding what they mean for future fighters and also suspected that each company (Capcom, Squeenix, and Namco) might get new fighters so they could re-release their Sm4sh Mii costumes. Joker coming solely with Sega outfits seemingly supported this idea, but the lack of Virtua Fighter costumes got me curious.
In Smash 4, the Virtua Fighter and Heihachi costumes were released alongside Ryu. The common theme there is that they're characters who debuted in fighting games. Ryu's character trailer emphasized this with him clashing with a Heihachi Mii. It's worth noting that the VF and Tekken Miis were also the only ones based on fighting games, so I don't think their releasing with Ryu was a coincidence.
With that in mind, I think it's possible that rather than just grouping future Mii outfits by the character's IP holder, they may also group them by genre. For example, the remaining fighting game costumes could launch with a fighting game character, Erdrick (or whoever the Square rep is) could come with the Square outfits (Chocobo, Geno) along with other RPG outfits (Gil, Lloyd, MegaMan.EXE, and/or Monster Hunter outfits), you get the idea.
If this turns out to be the case, it's possible future characters don't even need to be from the same company as the older Mii costumes. For example, the fighting game outfits might just as likely come with KOF characters or even someone like Ryu Hayabusa (thanks to DOA) as Tekken or SoulCal ones, a platformer character like Banjo could come with the other Mega Man outfits, etc. (You could even argue that the Sonic outfits releasing with Joker still loosely fits thematically since Sonic Forces and P5 Dancing each included costumes from each other's franchises).
Also, regarding Joker's gun opening up the floodgates for other gun wielders like RE or Doom characters, I can't say I agree. Much like how Bayo's guns get a pass because they don't canonically shoot real bullets, Joker's gun is the same way. In P5, Joker's gun is only a replica. It's useless in the "real" world, but in Mementos and the game's various Palaces (whose forms and inhabitants exist solely on a cognitive level), the gun does work because it looks realistic enough for enemies to think it's real (kind of like an extreme placebo effect). RE characters and Doomguy don't have this distinction, so I don't think Joker makes them any more likely than before (though you could maybe do Doomguy if he focused on energy-based weapons and explosives like the rocket launcher or plasma gun).
I hope all the DLC isn’t filled with Japanese anime looking characters, that’d be annoying. Cartoony characters like Banjo Kazooie, Crash Bandicoot, Rayman etc fit best in Smash imo

17:35 I noticed ages ago that there was a missing slot there, and I thought maybe they might add a returning stage that wasn't featured in this game as DLC. However, it makes sense that this is missing, if you edit your rules to make the stage selection random, and select which stages do/don't appear in the random selection, that slot is taken by the option to turn on/off custom stages in the random selection. Just wanted to let you know that that might be the case of why it is empty there.

thanks for being a smash content youtuber that looks at all perspectives, researches your sources, and other people sources/rumors/leaks etc. you dont jump to conclusions, and you remain calm and dont feel fake compared to lax chris who just reads leaks all day from 4chan (anybody can do that / assume every post on there is credible. ) keep up the good work, and remember to stay true to yourself and the speculation/videos you make. (also, a rumor and a leak are 2 different things. leaks would be accidents / direct source of possible info from nintendo. a rumor is...of course, hearsay, not proven, or credible / reliable.)

I personally feel that Monokuma might be added, he really fits the mold of a DLC fighter in my opinion
