On my n63 I got 85 t-stat and I just buy this mod, excited to install this mod to see my temperature like this. You deserve more subs💪🏽
Thanks fam I really appreciate that 💯and thanks for supporting the channel 🏎️💨
Great stuff my guy !! Taken note on every thing you do, copin me an F85 soon as paper work on house gets done. Currently looking at some now!!!
Thanks fam I really appreciate it 💯 this is definitely to go to channel for any X6M or X5M 🏎️💨🏁
Shit I’m in the same boat as you lol. good luck on your search
Absolutely love the video! Thank you! I just bought the entire kit with your links. N63TU engine. In Phoenix Arizona area. Can I keep the oil cooler valve on all year? What winter temps should you avoid? Winter temps in PHX average 70F. Also, with the oil cooler valve installed Is it okay for brief visits to colder climates? Like heading up to the mountains in winter? Thank you for your time. Can’t wait to watch the rest of your videos!
Thanks for supporting the channel family 💯 the oil cooler valve should be fine in 70F weather as well as trips to the mountain as long as you let it idle a little longer until the oil temp needle starts to move. I really appreciate your support 🚀🌌
Thanks OG
Just ordered mine thank you
Thanks for supporting the channel fam 👨🏾🚀🚀🌌
Fantastic. This along with my new mishimoto oil cooler will surely go a long ways toward beating back some of that Florida heat.
It's literally a night and day difference and will allow you to keep more of your power because the engine won't pull timing as quickly from heat soak.
@@AutoLust Seeing those numbers on the dash made a believer out of me. I live over in Tampa and the heat plus stop and go traffic along with some spirited driving takes it toll quickly.
I have placed the order for this staff. I have a 2014 750 Li. Thanks much!
Your very welcome! Thanks for supporting the channel 🏎️💨
Ordering thanks brother.
No prob at all brother and thank you for always supporting the channel! Definitely a great mod🚀🌌
SOLD!! Great Video!!
Thanks fam 💯 I really appreciate your support 🏎️💨
Thanks man, I appreciate the info you put out on this. I just got oil cooler valve from n63 today and going to install it tomorrow. I live in TX and it gets hot as hell out here. Oil temp has been going up to almost 250° f on the temp gauge and i feel that's way to hot. I did purchase a low temp thermostat as well and that will be the next thing i install when i flush out the system.
Thanks for supporting the channel family 💯 you will have better reliability and notice more consistent power as well 🚀🚀🚀
Hey man I’m gonna do both those. How did they work for you ?
@@SageXteriorCleaning They work perfectly. I still use both right now. If you have a X6M or X5M then the oil cooler valve works extremely well and it's very hard to warm the car up unless you drive hard or race the car because of the size of the oil cooler up front and how much air it gets. So I would skip the cooler valve unless you have a different vehicle other than the X5M X6M, track your car or drive it aggressively.
Late comment, but would this work for a N63 engine? I live in cali and the hot summers are coming up and I know these engines are known to get hot! Should I get both the thermostat and the oil cooler valve? Would I need to keep my OEM cooler valve once winter comes around? Love the content and the helpful vids!
Thanks for supporting the channel fam. Yes, it will definitely fit. The S63 uses the N63 engine block. It's literally the same engine with only a few minor upgrades 🚀🚀🚀
Hey just wanna say how glad I found this video. Good stuff! Installed everything and it works wonder bro! Sadly after 2 days my car went into limp mode and the engine light came on. It happened during cold start. Just wondering if I need to do any coding or something to make the ecu think that there’s no issue with the car. I’m suspecting the engine light is on because of the pressure change once i changed all those parts. Hope to hear from you soon! Cheers
No the car doesn't need any coding for the coolant mods at all. I've been racing my car for over a year with the mods with no coding. Did you put it on a code reader to find out what the code was?
I’m going to read the codes tomorrow. Hopefully nothing serious 😢
@@azfarhazwanabdulhadi6627 when you find out contact me on my ig page
@@azfarhazwanabdulhadi6627 Hi. Did you read the codes? Was it related to this mod? Thanks
Great video‼️ quick question. Im looking for a N63TU 550i xDrive LCI and I live in NYC, so the summers get crazy hot but the end of fall and winter get cold.
Would you recommend I get the sport oil cooler valve for the late spring, summer, and early fall months then change back to stock for the other colder months??
Thanks for supporting the channel fam 💯you should be able to keep it there and be fine. It will just take the oil a little longer to heat up, but you should be good. My X6M has a huge oil cooler that sits directly in front of the engine so it's getting cool air all the time so it's different from my car, but a 550 I should be fine.
@@AutoLust and now ima New Sub‼️Preciate the prompt response. Bc I was confused whether or not I should swap the valves in and out similar to how people, Who live in areas impacted by all seasons, do with their winter wheels
@@AYO_KO Thanks for joining the family and I try to respond as quick as possible if I can because I know some people ask questions while they're actually performing the job and a quick response would help a lot.
I have a n63tu and I’m stage 2 custom tune, catless DPs. I live in Michigan, I do not drive the car in the winter, it sits in a heated garage. I do drive it hard in summer months always in sport +. Drag races and roll races often. Do you recommend the cooler valve? Average temps in the summer are 70-90f
Thanks for supporting the channel fam. Yes if you are racing and driving hard and those temps then the cooler valve will work great for you. I would do the thermostat swap first as it will extend the life of the engine and stop the ECU from pulling timing on hot days. ua-cam.com/video/TKv6jj-g7Ts/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/7OjkXjO42UU/v-deo.html
just found your channel & it’s definitely a gem. I also live in Florida and currently looking for a way to run lower engine temps. Do you know anything about wrapping turbos and Downpipes?
Thanks for subscribing and welcome to the channel fam. Having a turbo blanket on the exhaust side of the turbo and wrapping or ceramic coating the down pipes will help keep heat inside which increases exhaust scavenging which in turn helps with a little extra horsepower and makes the turbo system run more efficiently while keeping underhood temp low.
@@AutoLust absolutely. I’m not to versed in doing downpipes / turbo wraps etc.. like this myself. Do you know any solid shops in west fl?
@@mike619 like Orlando Tampa area or further?
@@AutoLust Tampa
@@mike619 I would go to Eurocharge or PSI in Orlando they're pretty good ask for Shane or Mason at Eurocharge. I'm not familiar with any shops in Tampa.
This seems like it's just a spacer keeping more tension on the spring allowing the oil valve to stay open, pretty much free circulation therefore the oil passes through the oil filter housing without being circulated through the filter? Is this correct 🤔
In other words you’ve found a way to create your own free flowing valve without having to buy this upgrade ?
Great Channel man! How low would the temp go with just the Oil Cooler valve? Without a lower temp thermostat? I have a 647hp 2011 550i.
Thanks fam. The oil cooler valve will do just fine on its own you only need to do both if you track your car a lot back to back but one or the other will do just fine and it will make a huge difference
@@AutoLust awesome. I just drive it hard every now and then, it's not my daily either but when I do drive it hard it will heat up quick.
@@michaelherrera3088 I have a 2013 550i and those are rlly good power levels, do u have a mod list you can send me
@@austinbirmingham7422 have you had any problems with the 2013 n63? Heard horror stories and I’m looking into one so I’d like to hear some good news lol
My man great videos like always I have a 2012 550i xdrive no big issue so far thank god should I replace those parts or this only for X model?
If your car isn't tuned I would just go with the 90° thermostat but if you have a tune in mods done to the car and it's hot in your area definitely do the oil cooler valve as well. The oil will still reach operating temperature with the oil cooler valve it just won't get as hot (shorten the life of engine) as it used to.
Hey brother. For the love of god, I purchased it and went to install it but can’t find the oil valve anywhere near the filter. I drive a 2012 m5 f10 with s63 motor.
Thanks for supporting the channel fam. To do this mod on the M5/M6 the lower oil pan has to be removed. The X5/X5M and X6/X6M are AWD So the oil pan is set up differently and the valve is on the outside of the oil pan.
Are you able to check oil levels after installing this mod? Usually won’t let you check lol levels until oil has reached oil temp which is around 250°
Oil* not lol**
Yes you're still able to check the oil levels once the oil reaches temperature. The oil will still reach operating temperature it just will never get as hot as it used to. To the point it shortens engine and engine seal and valve seal life
I need this when you come back me and matt could come over to do this on my car let me know.
No problem family. Thanks for supporting the channel 💯
Hello brother, thank you for the information, I live in Switzerland and here it will be 25-35 degrees Celsius in summer and in winter -05 -08 degrees Celsius would you recommend this to me?
I have the X5M E70 2012
I use the Castrol 5W40 M, should I use the valve?
Thanks for supporting the channel. I would try the thermostat first in this video ua-cam.com/video/7OjkXjO42UU/v-deo.html if that doesn't get your temps as low as you would like them then do the valve, but I warn you with the thermostat and the valve it will be very hard to get your car up to temperature. I use my car only for hard racing in Florida and it's always hot here .
Hi ! can you confirm this part is suitable for my bmw X6 M E71 2010 ? do you ship to France ?
Yes it's compatible with any S63 s63tu n63 and n63tu to you. I'm not sure if the company ships to France but you can put it in the car and put in your country and area code and see if they ship it. Thanks for supporting the channel!
I live in New England where it gets very cold in the winter but wondering if I should still put in the oil cooler valve due to some oil consumption
What vehicle do you have?
@@AutoLust I have a 2015 n63tu
@@AntonioPereira-sp3on you should be fine and if you ever have any problems you can just swap it out at the next oil change, but you should be fine because only a very very small amount of BMWs come with a dedicated oil cooler up front that air passes through like the X5M X6M.
Can you install the oil cooler valve without making so much oil drip out like that? (Will I have to top up after doing this?)
I only recommend doing the oil cooler valve swap during an oil change. I'm not sure of the amount of oil that will leak out without draining the oil system. Maybe a lot or maybe none at all as I haven't done it that way.
@@AutoLust ok. I will time it with my next change.. might as well do it sooner before Florida heat her arrival by early march
I live in Atlanta, should I do this mod. 2011 550i
Yes you could definitely do the mod for Atlanta. It's easily reversible also with every oil change in case it gets cold
What’s stopping you from taking out valve completely
I think if you remove it completely it won't circulate through the oil filter.
It’s not reducing the filtration process is it?
Not at all. It would have been tons of lawsuits against the two companies who produced them already. I've been running mine for almost 2 years in a drag racing application with no problems. If that was the case with the stock oil t-stat the oil wouldn't get filtered until after it reached temperature or stop being filtered after it reached temp one or the other if the thermostat system worked that way.
Does it fit in a n63tu2, g12 750li, and where is this located bcz i didn’t find it like you
Yes it definitely fits in the n63tu2, but in the twin turbo cars you have to drop the lower oil pan and you will see it. It's a smaller oil pan connected to the bottom of the main oil pan it's right inside of there. Thanks for supporting the channel 👨🏾🚀🚀🌌
@@AutoLust thank you for your reply, i have to replace a new gasket and screws of this smaller oil pan connected after removed it?? And also i want to order the n63 low temp thermostat
@@nikymihai5276 No prob fam. I'm not sure if you have if it's required to change the gasket and the screws on the lower pan. The oil cooler valve in a thermostat will definitely extend the life of the engine it's the best mod you can do.
I wonder if this will work on my f90 m5🤔
Thanks for supporting the channel. I know that the 90° thermostat swap will work, but I'm not COMPLETELY sure about the oil cooler valve, but I'm 90% sure that it will work as well.
Can this part be added if you’ve already changed your oil?
Thanks for supporting the channel but no because oil actually travels through the housing it sits in. So it can only be changed during an oil change. Or you can catch your clean oil and something clean, change the valve and then put the clean oil back. I've done it many times before.
@@AutoLust Roger that.
Just installed mine but now I hear knocking when in drive. Not in neutral.
This "knocking" would have nothing to do with the thermostat as it's not a moving part or part the rotating assembly of the engine, but still make sure it was installed in the correct orientation. The same way the factory version came out is the way the new one needs to go in.
@@AutoLust I’m pretty sure I installed it rigth but I definitely wasn’t hearing that noise before starting it. I’m gonna take it out tomorrow. I looked it up and it said a bad oil cooler valve will cause knocking noises. Might just put the oil one in for now or chekc if I installed it wrong.
@@AutoLust ima dm u on insta
I like the mod but what the difference in removing the oil cooler value completely?
the outside temp is 34c
isnt the operating temperature around 100 degree c.
You can't move it completely because something that shape has to be in the oil intake track or the computer will believe something has gone wrong regardless of oil temperature.
@@AutoLust I am going to do the thermostat mod but 107c degree is what my oil temp is on. I heard this is normal ..... and the stem valve is mainly destroyed because of carbon build up with gdi engine. Not really because of heat ..
@@billboon There is no problem with carbon buildup in the BMW v8s and not really in the n55s or b58 engines either really only the n54 had that problem and maybe the very first n55 any bimmer performance shop will tell you that. The main reason for the oil cooler valve is to extend the life of the complete engine (oil seals, plastics and rubber parts, and help cut down friction between parts inside the engine) high oil temperature means extreme oil breakdown and if the oil is broken down the additives can't protect your engine. The second reason is for performance if extreme oil temperatures are logged by the ECU it will retard timing and lower performance so the engine doesn't damage itself.
@@AutoLustI thought there is always problem with gdi engine and carbon build. Only toyota has fixed this with a multi injector technology. Gdi and one in the intake that does a variable spray.
Oil from the pcv value will spray into the throttle body, carbon build the intake valve . Hence catch cans is the must for most gdi engine.
But with this mod if the temp is on 90c, operating temp for this engine is 100+c to boil off water build up in the crank case .. running the temperature at 90 c wont let this happen. Your outside temp is 34c which is hot. I have had this engine up to 117c without and engine lights coming on because the electrical water pump was cooked. Now it sits on 104c to 107 in traffic. Isnt this normal operating temperature
@@billbooncarbon buildup happens in any GDI engine, but it depends on how the engine was designed if the carbon build up gets bad enough to cause a problem. you can sit a cup of water on your counter and it will evaporate with your air condition on 60°F. I have run these mods and every one of my BMW v8s that I've ever owned and had top performance and never had a problem. If you live in a colder climate don't do it, but if you live in hotter climates and you race your car or drive your car hard with a tuned engine then this is the mod for you. If you don't have a tuned engine and only use it to daily drive back and forth to work then this is not the mod for you.
what should be the temps with only thermostat 90c
I'm not sure exactly as I didn't do a full study on it, but you should record your factory temps before you do the swap. With the t-stat and the oil cooler valve I literally have to sit and idle or do hard pulls for my oil temp to start climbing and then they never reach the overly high temps as they did before, but I drag race my car so unless you're doing that or live in a area where it's blazing hot all the time I would just do one or the other. Preferably the thermostat swap.
@@AutoLust i did the mods brother so t stat 90c and rad cap 1.4 bar temps before was 106 oil 106 water now i have 98-99 oil and water is 98-99 so really good
@@AutoLust i live in senegal the temp outside is always around 90f should i do the oil cooler valve?
@@dbz-tm2bz I would definitely do the cooler valve in that type of weather. You can always change it back when it's time to change the oil if the weather gets cold, but you should gain a lot of reliability from doing the cooler valve mod. Thanks for the support family 💯
Where can i buy one?
Thanks for supporting the channel fam. Here is the link n63intake.com/products/n63-n63tu-s63-s63tu-sport-oil-cooler-valve
What's with the gloves lol you talkin bout hot climate guy got gloves on😂
I wouldn't recommend anybody race without gloves with a gloss carbon fiber steering wheel, unless you want to end up in the woods with chipmunks twerking on your hood. Thanks for watching the video 🚀
@@AutoLust bruh just put some hand Lotion you know you got ashshy skin
@@mlif3813 That's the reason why I wear the gloves because I don't have ashy skin. If I had ashy skin it would grip the carbon fiber.
@@AutoLust what bout them feet
Can this be done to a 2015 x5?
As long as it's the 50i yes.
@@AutoLust So this won't apply to the N55?
@@ssaafur sorry, but its only for the N63/N63TU and S63/S63TU. If you already ordered the parts you can return them. The n55 has a super cooling option on bm3 once the engine is tuned
@@AutoLust thanks!.
How safe is this?
It depends on what you mean by "SAFE". As with any engine it's up to owners discretion and common Sense on whether the engine will last or not. This mod is meant to keep the oil cooler than factory saving engine components and extending engine life but you still have to let your oil heat up a little before you beat on the car. If you live in colder climates I wouldn't recommend this mod but just like any of my mods they are to be performed at your own risk but thousands of high-powered BMWs use this mod and I know a few of them personally that have been running it longer than I have 3 plus years without hiccups. it's a must if you plan on heavily modifying the engine or living in extremely hot climate like Florida and Texas etc. Thanks for supporting the channel 👨🏾🚀🚀🌌
