First and only RE film I saw in cinemas. For me this is where the series went downhill fast. The Games are not set in a post-apocalyptic world but for some reason Anderson felt like ripping of Day of the Dead. My biggest problem is the story just jumps-forward in time without ever explaining what happened to past characters like Jill and Angie or how the world got infected despite the second film showing Umbrella stopping infected people from leaving the city. There was a Novel tie-in that expanded on these very questions but in the end of the day I would rather see that story in film form then a book. There's also the whole filming problem this film encountered. Claire was originally Jill's role but the Actress decided to work on a crappy book adaptation movie instead of coming back for this which ended up being a mistake since her film flopped and this didn't. There's also the forced and stupid addition of Clones which is something that every film from here on out relies on despite the games not really dealing or having anything to do with that with some exceptions. Alice was also supposedly meant to be evil in this as she gets mind controlled and in the novel even kills Angie which is why she ended up leaving Carlos and LJ to begin with but the movie doesn't tell you this stuff. That said, the action is good and Ian Glen as the badguy Dr. Issacs is fun to watch. Also the actor who plays Wesker in this film, Jason O'Mara is awesome but he wasn't really given a chance to shine here and the next sequels replaced him with someone else which is a shame because from what he said (Met him at LFCC last year) he was planning to come back but never got the call from Anderson because Anderson thought he wasn't interested when infact he was but he'd already been recasted which is a tragic shame because he's generally a good actor when given the chance.

Then after that we get "you are my mommy aren't you?" "I am now", so fucking good, no spoilers you'll understand when you get there. I'm a huge fan of the games and still enjoy the movies for what they are, also isn't the actress that plays Claire also Andrea in the walking dead? (edit) The CG movies are amazing too but follow the game story line not the movie story line, they're definitely worth watching after you finish the live action movies.
I’m the same. I really have no connection to the games, but I’ve liked all the movies I’ve seen so far.
I think we're getting to my favorite, cant wait and those Zombie Dogs get a great upgrade but I'm not spoiling what that upgrade is.
You mentioned Alice being the only real main character. Funny thing is she's not even in the games, her character was created for the films.
There are several characters in the films that are actually main characters from the games though, but they're not exactly the same in both versions.
Won't mention names, will be a nice surprise for you if you decide to play through the games (reaction vids if you ever do, please)
This was the point where Anderson really screwed up with the movie series.
If you really love zombie films then DAWN OF THE DEAD 2004 remake is a must! Hands down one of the best zombie movies ever!!!
Why is the Eiffel tower and statue of Liberty in Las Vegas
Those are fake and they're just props for the whole Las Vegas "facade" LOL
I get it not good for chairman wasker to trash talk the doctor, but look at it from his POV, he chairman and his best and brightest mind who should have made some or any progress on fixing the issue has nothing to show for it and they undead are still causing issues so I can understand wasker vent his frustrations at the doctor.
It more you have one last chance before I call in someone else to solve this issue….doctor!
That more the tone I got from that scene
I love all of these movies. Maybe it's because I don't play the games. Thank you so much for reacting to these.
i like the hole movie series despite the redcons they are doing in later movies
I think the movie Resident Evil 4 has a couple elements from the game Resident Evil 5, but it mostly does its own thing. I think if you're a fan of the game characters it can be disappointing if you were expecting more focus on them. I still ended up enjoying the movies for the most part.
Should definitely watch Rec 1-4(Spanish horror, zombie-ish )
Claire is just as bad ass as Alice and pure human. The next movie proves that.
I suggest watching 'Children of Men'.You won't be disappointed.
They honestly forgot about her powers in the rest of the movies lol
It is crazy in the movie Alice is more important then Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliviera when in the game which I pay more attention to even though the movies are ace asf, it's vice versa yet Alice isn't even in that franchise haha
23:32 resident evil version of star wars the clone wars upcoming that's what's up :D
I liked the whole series but the tone of the movies do seem to change between each one which can make them feel a bit disjointed.
You think this is scary with the birds watch the movie The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock. It's so good and it's a older movie but it scary because birds are everywhere and so many types and species of birds .
This might be my favorite of the 6.
Three movies with three different directors, the story went too far away from the original idea Paul Anderson had, the guy came back to direct the fourth, and he said it was supposed to be the final one, but Sony pushed for more sequels, that's why the quality dropped bad and the movies started to get s lot of hate
Explains why each movie kept on retconning and ignoring the previous one.
@@xXSinForLifeXx not to spoil anything but if you've seen it, you know what happens in the end, he said it in the DVD comments, it was supposed to be an actual good ending, but Sony pushed him to "extend" the scene so they could make more movies.
I agree that might be why the other two felt so disconnected and so over the top they feel more like parodies of themselves
@@officialflikz Yeah I have seen then all I know what you mean. Although I didn't realise the 4th was mean to be the last.
It wasn't just the first few movies I meant when I said they retconned stuff it happens in almost every movie.
This one retcons the previous one, afterlife retcons parts of this movie, and final chapter retcons the final fight from retribution.
I don't remember if retribution retconned anything from afterlife but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
@@xXSinForLifeXx well afterlife definitely retcons this one, with the opening scene, I'm glad they kept part of the plot at least
Well.. i mean it's not the director's decision to make wether a movie sequel will be the last one or not...
Resident evil Extinction like this movie 🎥🍿🎥 was incredible.
Have you played the game before...?
I love most of this series!! All but one.
The next one is great, it's got more of a George A Romero vibe to it, which I love. And it gets back to that claustrophobic feeling from the first one. 5 I love as well cos it's just crazy. It's a kitchen sink movie.
6 sadly is the only one I can't stand, which is a shame, cos the story is actually pretty good and ties it all up nicely, but holy schnikies, the way they filmed it! I don't know what Paul WS Anderson was thinking, whether he wanted to try something different, and somehow thought it was a good idea, or he did it out of spite to get back at someone, or he just plan gave up at that point, but the movie is practically unwatchable. If I had a month to waste I'd like to take it and run it through After Effects and fix it, but it's just not worth it.
The movie is worth the first watch though, just to see how they wrap it up. Like I said, the story is actually pretty good.
The sixth movie annoyed the crap out of me. Anderson basically killed off all the characters from the game just to pull focus on his wife.
up until now the fight sequences in 6 always make my head hurt. i didn’t know why he had to do it. it’s almost unwatchable for me - *yeah i had to squint my eyes so I won’t nauseate*
i hope you caught the after credit scenes
3-4 are definetily my least favorite, but 5 is my absolute favorite one, I can't wait for you to get to that one.
YES!! MY FAVOURITE OUTTA ALL THE MOVIES, LETS DO THIS!
Yeah the movies definitely go downhill from here on out sorry to say
Best way to enjoy these movies is to completely disregard the games I love the games story and this one but to me there just 2 different universes.
After you watch all of these it would be awesome if you watched the animated resident evil movies I don't know if you like animated movies but I think the resident evil animated movies are worth watching
Bro you should watch Silent hill 2006 it’s the creepiest video game movie
I’ll keep it in mind!
@@ItsAPrimatee cool
You should definitely check out Army of the Dead on Netflix!
He asks so many questions only for them to be slightly answered in the next minute lol just watch and see and all or most will be answered..and if he doesn’t get it right by the end they were trying to replicate the OG Alice because she successfully bonded with the T-Virus giving her super strength..basically all the powers of captain America and more lol but all the clones of her at the beginning are failures since they don’t have the same insight and power levels or I should say bonding levels with the T-Virus……
I'm glad to watch reaction on the best zombie-franchise on your channel)
i recommend Tremors movie series
This movie is such a masterpeace but they did really bad with Carlos
Next one is my favorite one. Don’t ask me why. XD
