they did drop a new one its called resident evil welcome to raccoon city , they basically rebooted the series plus the new one is the closest one to the game

They had a great opportunity to make movies in parallel story with video games with these cast but instead they decided to use these characters as a minor. Now with the new movie "Welcome to Racoon City", they screwed all my hopes by mixing the race and ethnics of the characters. Especially making Leon an Indian is the biggest damage to their reboot. I bet because of these choices, the movie got bad critics and low box office.

Movie killed it with cinematography and score, and the different stages through out was fun to see. Many references to the videogames, from Ada to Las Plagas parasyte. Sadly this is the last guilty pleasure movie of the franchise.

Welcome To Raccoon City is a RE movie not connected to these, it was made to be more true to the games story as this franchise mostly took characters, bioweapons, and a few camera shots from the games and ran with its own story
There’s an old movie called Stay Alive you should watch. It’s a pretty good movie and it is literally based on a game. Don’t want to say too much so I’ll leave it at that.
Also I hope Primate checks out the other franchise that held action and comics lovers down before the big comic book movie Renaissance. That franchise is UNDERWORLD with Vampire Deathdealer Selene. UNDERWORLD and RESIDENT EVIL were the closest today's comics action films for a very long time. Milla Jovovich and Kate Beckinsdale were awesome in their roles and I loved their unique style and swagger

This movie... Was so good!! The cinematography and the scoring. Can we talk about hr scoring. It's so good. But Afterlife... The scoring for that Axeman scene was probably the hardest score I've heard. It gives me chills to this day.

Resident Evil: Retribution was such a outstanding and incredible sequel on so many levels. The story, performance's, music, action sequences, special effects, and cinematography was amazing and wonderful. Milla Jovovich did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Alice as she put tons of emotion and depth into her role. It was such a fun rollercoaster thrill ride. You have a good time with this movie. It was decent. To this day the ending still gives me chills and goosebumps 😱😰 and I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old.😍💯😎👍
And Paul WS Anderson is like "You know what would be even cooler than zombies? Zombies on motorcycles! WITH GUNS!!" But I'm not complaining. These movies are fun as hell.
When I first saw this movie, I had so many [justifiable] gripes with where they were representing the different virus strains and who was stuck dealing with them. I guess because back then, I was still comparing it to the games rather than taking the movies for what they were with the direction they were heading. Nowadays, it doesn't bother me -as much-. But seeing the Las Plagas in Russia still doesn't sit right with me when in the game, it takes hold mostly in Spain or some region similar, hence the name of the virus strain. Also, Michelle Rodriguez still kind of terrifies me. She's always had this "you so much as look at me wrong and I'll destroy your ass a hundred times over before you even know what happened" kind of vibe. Love her as an actress, but damn is she intimidating.
The Alice movies are standalone, set in an alternate reality, Welcome To Raccoon City is a prequel to RE2, live action and connected to the animated movie and tv series storylines that take place between other games from Code: Veronica to RE7.
It's a shame that the Alice and the group couldn't take control of the Umbrella Prime base and use it for the other survivors of the world. It's under water therefore safe from the dead and has city sized environments. Also despite the fact that humanity has been pushed to extinction levels, the Corporation isn't making any money or have builders and construction crews, Wesker and other Umbrella leaders apparently don't see destroying yet another useful and state of the art Umbrella facility as wasteful.
Primate, you DEFINITELY would have fun watching through the original X-Men trilogy (2000 - 2006)! Those movies are lost gems nowadays. Plus with all the rumors and confirmation around the upcoming Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness I'd say why not 🤷🏿♂ Keep up the great content as always!
I remember seeing this in theaters, hearing Michelle Rodriguez hype it up on social media. I was pretty excited. But being a fan of the games had me feeling negative about it. Leon Kennedy, Mr. Escort Mission, telling Alice to leave the girl? Barry's lame one kill trade death? I was kinda upset, they did the games characters just filthy. But I cannot deny that ending had me ready again.

Retribution is my favorite film in a series that is not particularly great. It's like Apocalypse on steroids. As many game references as they could cram in, homages to iconic elements of previous films, FINALLY establishing a clear direction to the narrative ... it really felt like the Anderson continuity was going to end on a high note if the next film kept up Retribution's momentum. Yeah.

I actually saw this in the theater despite not having seen any previous movies because of a girl I was crazy about. I had played the first 3 games, so I could kind of follow along 😅
Resident Evil: the Final Chapter's editor was on something strange. There are anywhere from 500-2,000 cuts. There is a seventh (though nothing to do with Alice's saga) movie made by one of the same production companies that is a more direct adaptation of the first two games. It's entertaining and has its moments.
Movies i like based on games. All the Mortal kombats, Doom, Warcraft, the first 2 Tomb Raiders, Street Fighter, Hitman, Max Payne, Need for Speed, Double Dragon, Super Mario Bros was pretty funny. Assassin's Creed. Sonic the Hedgehog
If this series never used RE references, different character names etc. it would have been good on its own, but as RE it really doesn't fit into the game storylines. It's like the Dawn of the Dead remake, it's not a Romero zombie movie, takes you out of his vision of zombies (Rule #1, Zombies are slow) but it's a good zombie movie without any connection to Romero's franchise.
There is another film that came out last year. It’s called Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. It’s based off of the the first two Resident Evil games. I love the Alice franchise but it was cool to finally get a live action film about the original game characters

Yo I watched these movies growing up and in the past 2 years I haven't watched the movies but I played the games. It took me until watching your reaction to notice that one of the dudes who came with Luther was Leon, one of the main character and repeating characters of the entire series. And it makes sense now why Ada and him were flirting a bit. I had no clue. he is the main character you play as in the second game. and Ada is also in the second game Ada shows up and they have a little thing.

The new Resident Evil movie that came out in November was a reboot and took a more accurate approach from the movies to the games and was a huge failure.
A new reboot was just released last year called *Welcome to Racoon city* Your not wrong there is a recent one but it's a reboot not part of the original series. I would still suggest reacting to it tho would like to see what you think.
No one wanted to see Michael Rodrighoe in this ..he died in the first one and bringing him back felt forced . Ada Wong is the reason for the season mofos.
My biggest issue with this franchise is not so much the differences in story direction but the fact they where killing off all my favorite resident evil capcom characters if i remember correctly u never see Criss again after the assault on the ship implying he was killed off in the attack but Clair shows in the last dont remember if she dies in that one though, and let’s not forget Leon Kenity in this movie. Arguably THE most important RE character in capcom to be killed off at the end as well in the white house attack and i presume Alices adopted daughter dies too since she also was not in the following movie. Well at least they spared Ada Wong Leon’s love interest from said games 😢

She didn't really get her powers back, that was Wesker lying, and we never got to see that badass battle because the next movie starts right after the battle is over and everyone except Alice and Wesker died
Interesting that you liked this, I was so dissapointed back then when I first watched it. The intro for the movie with the slow mo was cool and the ending was as well but... They got us hyped up with all these actors coming back in the teasers just to make them clones and kill them off a second later. The whole plot makes no sense at all, the facility stuff feels like a complete filler episode. Claire and Chris from Afterlife just dissapear offscreen which never gets mentioned again in these, they just brought Luther back to have him say a few lines and die, too. I see how people could like the action but it's just brainless special effects at this point. Even the zombies in this are ridiculous. When I saw the russian zombies holding guns and chainsaws I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Anyway... you almost made it to the end primate. I'm really curious to see your opinion on the last one.

the opening scene and the ending are the best of the movie, the scenes and the music is simply epic, it was glorious to see that in the cinema
Agreed. If you tell somebody that the opening is slo-mo and backwards and 3D it sounds like a gimmick, but in the theater it was amazing.

Resident Evil: the Final Chapter's editor was on something strange. There are anywhere from 500-2,000 cuts. There is a seventh (though nothing to do with Alice's saga) movie made by one of the same production companies that is a more direct adaptation of the first two games. It's entertaining and has its moments.
Movies i like based on games. All the Mortal kombats, Doom, Warcraft, the first 2 Tomb Raiders, Street Fighter, Hitman, Max Payne, Need for Speed, Double Dragon, Super Mario Bros was pretty funny. Assassin's Creed. Sonic the Hedgehog

You’re right! There’s a new Resident Evil that came out in 2021 called Welcome to Raccoon City
If this series never used RE references, different character names etc. it would have been good on its own, but as RE it really doesn't fit into the game storylines. It's like the Dawn of the Dead remake, it's not a Romero zombie movie, takes you out of his vision of zombies (Rule #1, Zombies are slow) but it's a good zombie movie without any connection to Romero's franchise.
There is another film that came out last year. It’s called Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. It’s based off of the the first two Resident Evil games. I love the Alice franchise but it was cool to finally get a live action film about the original game characters
this one had several elements from RE5! it wasnt as good as RE4 but was still worth checking out!

Yo I watched these movies growing up and in the past 2 years I haven't watched the movies but I played the games. It took me until watching your reaction to notice that one of the dudes who came with Luther was Leon, one of the main character and repeating characters of the entire series. And it makes sense now why Ada and him were flirting a bit. I had no clue. he is the main character you play as in the second game. and Ada is also in the second game Ada shows up and they have a little thing.

No one wanted to see Michael Rodrighoe in this ..he died in the first one and bringing him back felt forced . Ada Wong is the reason for the season mofos.
My biggest issue with this franchise is not so much the differences in story direction but the fact they where killing off all my favorite resident evil capcom characters if i remember correctly u never see Criss again after the assault on the ship implying he was killed off in the attack but Clair shows in the last dont remember if she dies in that one though, and let’s not forget Leon Kenity in this movie. Arguably THE most important RE character in capcom to be killed off at the end as well in the white house attack and i presume Alices adopted daughter dies too since she also was not in the following movie. Well at least they spared Ada Wong Leon’s love interest from said games 😢

Interesting that you liked this, I was so dissapointed back then when I first watched it.
The intro for the movie with the slow mo was cool and the ending was as well but...
They got us hyped up with all these actors coming back in the teasers just to make them clones and kill them off a second later. The whole plot makes no sense at all, the facility stuff feels like a complete filler episode. Claire and Chris from Afterlife just dissapear offscreen which never gets mentioned again in these, they just brought Luther back to have him say a few lines and die, too. I see how people could like the action but it's just brainless special effects at this point. Even the zombies in this are ridiculous. When I saw the russian zombies holding guns and chainsaws I didn't know if I should laugh or cry.
Anyway... you almost made it to the end primate. I'm really curious to see your opinion on the last one.
I would probably say this is the best of the franchise thus far, in my personal opinion. I enjoyed all of them though to be honest.

@@7_philk Racoon City is the second best of them all though. Never understand the hate for it. Seems like people bitched about it because it was a B-movie, but the RE games themselves were modeled after B-movies, so the backlash just makes no fucking sense.
