Illegal Immigration at the U.S. Border: Who's Behind It and Why with Dr. Chris Martenson

  • Chris Martenson, Ph.D., MBA is an economic researcher and futurist, and founder of PeakProsperity.com. His COVID video series garnered more than 40 million views and has helped millions better understand, adapt, and prepare for the Pandemic of 2020.
In addition to analysis and commentary, he writes for PeakProsperity.com, shares his insights on his social media and traditional media, and makes contributions to academic, civic, and private organizations around the world (the UN, the UK House of Commons, and U.S. State Legislatures).
This conversation starts with Chris detailing his experience with Bret Weinstein at migrant camps in Darién Province, Panama. One camp was filled with Chinese nationals, mostly military-age men. Chris details the arduous and often gruesome journey migrants take from Ecuador (a visa isn't required) to the US border. Interestingly, Chris reveals that migrants from around the world find out about the US's open border through social media, and they are often aided in their journey by organizations such as the UN, the Red Cross, and various Catholic charities.
In the second half of the conversation, Chris and Peter talk about the hypocrisy of Western governments by allowing illegal immigration to flourish and the cognitive dissonance progressives experience when voting for such policies. Finally, Chris and Peter illustrate how this crisis, amongst others, has led to major distrust in governmental institutions. The conversation ends on a hopeful note.

I've been a huge fan of yours for 7 or 8 years, Peter, but... my friend, how can you still think Trump is a lunatic when EVERYTHING he was pushing back against, on his own, has come to fruition.
Immigration emergency. New wars, economic issues, China, Fentanyl , Marxist bail reform, Soros judges, Israel, anti semitism, the Border, Wokeness in Schools, Propoganda in Schools, child mutilation, the UN.
What do you want from the guy Peter? I know you are one of the few with the intellectual honesty and enough ego in check to admit that the man may be uncouth, but Christ alive, has anyone been more right on more issues than him??

The situation in Panama is incredibly concerning. Not only the presence of very organised and apparently semi-secret Chinese groups, seemingly taking advantage of the flow of migrants, but uncontrolled migration from as far afield as Afghanistan and Iran being freely allowed to enter the US. It just seems mind boggling.
Add to that the complicity of international bodies aiding and abetting the flow. What the Hell is going on? Why is this happening? Why is there no opposition? Why is there no outcry?
Seriously, Peter, thanks for the content.

There's a lot of outcry, but it's like the farmer protests in the EU and the gender thing: the top media outlets and other institutions have decided to take the opposite side and then bury their opposition, and so politicians can pretend they just never heard about it and do nothing about it.

You need to sit with the questions you just asked.... we all do! The answer is there in front of our eyes, it is our brains having trouble letting go of our created false reality and adjusting to a new one based on truth. Once you open your mind, this all starts to add up. This will be the freeing of humanity, if we are willing to see truth.

@@drpeterboghossian I appreciate you investigating this subject, but there is a far simpler explanation which doesn't involve any conspiracy. Because of sex selective abortion, the UN estimated some years ago that there were at least 30 million women missing from Asia. By now the figure is probably far higher. We probably also have around 5-10% of people living here illegally, and immense efforts on the part of trafficking gangs to bring more people in to work in criminal enterprises. And the media is equally unwilling to face the problem, lying about the realities of people trafficking and the consequences of hundreds of hotels up and down the country being filled with bored men from regressive cultures.

The comment about Chinese military looking men with instructions on where to register at the dmv shook me a bit.
There’s a story from wwii about an American soldier who was in charge of some captured Germans towards the end of the war. One of the German prisoners approached the American and began asking him questions in flawless English, no German accent. This prisoner asked him where he was from- the American told him I’m from America. Where in America? The American told him from Connecticut. Where in Connecticut, and he told him the town.
“Oh yes”, he said. “That’s at the confluence of the saugatuck and nanautock streams.”
“How did you know that” the American asked.
The German told him that he had been in training to be one of the administrators of “the territories” (the US)
Hitler had trained an entire army of future bureaucrats to administer the US after Germany won.
I brought this up because our enemies are not like us. There are not a lot of George Washington’s and Abraham Lincoln’s out there in china.
They don’t give a fuck about our ideals or good intentions or how special we think we are. They want to rule us and if they can’t to destroy us.

Peter, Under what rock have you been living? Michael Yon has been reporting, with photos, on this invasion for several years. In the 1980’s I was one of the few citizens working the banquets at the Beverly Wiltshire Hotel in LA. My fellow waiters , mostly illegal, would compare their phony Social Security cards, one for welfare, one for work . Later I was privileged to work as a public defender in 2 counties bordering Mexico. I am personally aware of the most vicious injury people schooled in Cuban prisons, or Mexican jails, are capable of inflicting on helpless Americans. Our protected elites are more than happy to import slaves to serve them . And no, these are not jobs Americans won’t do, these are jobs Americans will not be hired to do. To work in the poshest restaurants and hotels one must be fluent in Spanish, have a personal connection and usually be willing to “kickback”.
You disparage Trump. Perhaps you could listen to a rally or two beginning to end , you would understand that Trump is a man of self-deprecating wit, humility, grace and gratitude, but also a steely determination to keep this country from becoming another Marxist hellhole where we serve our “betters”, keep our mouths shut, and live in fear. Why isn't Dr. Martenson bringing the reporters and journalist to these locations?

It's disturbing to know that our back door is revolving at this rate with no controls but it's no surprise. I live in a heavily impacted city and work in front-line healthcare there. We seem to be in a new global migration era similar to the Bronze Age Sea Peoples. It supports the right's view that "we can't let everyone in." But it also supports the moderate view that we can't control borders without federal employees to work in the offices that control the border. Meanwhile, on the liberal side, the lesson with the controlled front door -- or legal entry -- supports the idea that some sort of basic universal income works as a counterbalance to the income inequality and stagnant wages over the last several decades. Our new arrivals receive significant health, education, and housing benefits, usually make the most of them, share information and assets within families and communities, and build a ladder to the middle and even upper middle classes within a generation, while their long-time resident counterparts languish with the costs of -- healthcare, education, and housing.

The things that this man is explaining about chinese immigration in panama, il the same thing qith afrivan immigration to europe since a long time. There is no need of a government to have this organised road of immigration. African have done it since the 2000 to go to europe. When you are in Africa we all know someone who have done the road, there are whatsapp group, social network that describe differents route, technique to avoid be kill or losing money, place to go if you want money in every country. There are network of people to send money so that when y ou arrive the new country you meet those people they retrieve money and they take their part. There are multiple technique. This has nothing to do with a gouvernment in Africa. This is done by individual that has first done those road in the 90's. They have done it in multiple years. From one country to another, they stay there they work during multiple years, they get money they make connections and they go to another country till they reach europeans countries.
So with they get expertise of those roads after 10 years of struggling, and when they finally made it they start to think about haw to monetize they knowledge, and connections that they acquire on the road during multiple years of struggling. The government of those countries have nothing to do with it. That's why is difficult to tackle the issue, it's an organic process and you cannot point a gouvernement.
In mu country in Africa, gouvernment has put a taxe for people that what to travel abroad, it doesn't change anything people leave, they double the price of the passport, and nothing change, people leave country at a high rate! They add specific requirement to get a passport but people still getting their passports and flies. So I don't think China gouvernement have anything to do with that state of affair!
Another thing is that "economic migration" and the "we need to help those to improve their life in their country with private properties, laws ...": This is bullshit. People that take those risky travels today have money, they are middle class in their country so they are not poor. They usually in my country sell their property, or take a loan with their property ass warranty. They use the money to travel, another chunk is left to the family in the home country so that they can survive during the time they reach europe, and find a stable situation and start to send back money, another chunk to survive at they arrival in the new country in case they don't get help or jobs. Do do those travel you have to be well in shape, well feed. You don't travel that far in one weeks if you are not in shape. When you are poor, You have to stop multiple time and for long time to recover between steps resulting in years to reach the new country. So No those are not poor people that have no jobs, no money, no opportunities in their countries, at least most of them.
So if you go to those countries to help, most likely you are going to help in priority the poorest class of people there, but those don't travel. So the problem will stay the same.
The last think about foreign aids is that it's a double edge. It's a lot of time consist on you changing the culture of people you want to help and therefore making them illequip to life in there own country. The consequence is they will want to go to the foreign country. Let me give you an illustration: UN set up a camp in an African country. They bring food, water, drugs and other facilities for peoples. What do you think the foods they bring are? Rice, wheat, some manufactured food. None of those grow in africa. So the food regime of those people change drastically, afert a time they are not able to digest loacl food like macabo, yams, and so on. Even if you left them to they own devise they now need foreign food other wise they will have random diarrhea because they organism don't process very well local food wich are very nutritif and available. They don't want to farm those local plant anymore because they don't like it. Now the local gouvernment need to import foreign food if they want to satisfy this subset of its population. Those people start feeling inconfortable in their own environment, and they to think to immigrate to the precise countries of people that use to help them...
This is a simplified example just to show that you don't need gouvernment agenda to explain this new migration patern. And that foreign aid and all the suppossed help that people in the west always think they shoul give to other country are most of the time double edge.
The west have to start being very careful about their intervention in other places where they don't know a lot. And I know it's difficult to see bad things happen abroad and stay calm in your home (christian value and all that), but if you cannot do that then be sure that you can survive to the unpredictable other edge of the sword.

Quibble. A nation most certainly can exist without controlled, solid borders. Most nations throughout history have. I think what you mean to say is a state, or a nation state, requires solid borders.
Nations are simply defined as groups of people of homogenous culture, ethnicity and/or language. They don’t even have to be geographically connected. For example, Native American tribes in the US are individual nations. They are not states.
Red Cross encouraging this is abhorrent.

Well, I think the danger more has to do with welfare systems. If your welfare system is supported by tax payers (legal documented citizens in other words) and then goes to everyone who's inside your land regardless of if they're illegal or not - that can't be sustained.
For nations without welfare, replace it with common defense in this argument, I guess. Seeing as how that's what taxation was for originally.

It seems unlikely. I believe the reason to do it like this 'in secret' is to avoid a political escalation with a neighboring government who drives migrants to the border at their own expense. We've seen that specific thing going on with Belarus-Poland and also Russia-Finland borders recently, and the end result of THAT is that those borders get closed for everyone, and you can't slip in people anymore. Then all that's left for you is impotent rage, AND the bill you have to somehow pay for those migrants being left in your own hands.

  • @zg-it
    @zg-it 4 місяці тому

The idea of nation states is not something everyone in the world understands because they are nothing more than arbitrary lines drawn to dictate which groups get to extort resources from the people who live within those boundaries. There's nothing else to it, these boundaries are arbitrary at best sometimes geographically appropriate. But when it's all said and done, this idea of drawing lines and then calling one side land a and calling the other side land B and then determining that you can't extort resources from the citizens on the other side of the line is insanity
The death and destruction that the world's experienced ever since the idea that these lines were supposed to be drawn was created some time in the 20th and 19th century is the way the world should be is so stupid and so destructive. It's nothing more than a bunch of gangs with territories, Mafia boundaries. That's the system we live under, and the illusion that these nations have anything to do with the people other than extorting is why they're so effective, The Branding behind the flags, the songs, and then the rules. People come from parts of the world where one ethnic group has lived next to another ethnic group and they've never had a line drawn between them and their lives, but in the west we've accepted that these arbitrary lines are magical and that we all should pretend that the line we live behind is our special home land and the flag that it's under is something we should worship.

Americans do not share your desire for borderless fantacy world. We know it is being imposed on us.

What a load of bull. Even before these lines were drawn, tribes have had their symbols of unity and have been killing each other. It’s these lines and the acceptance of them which have brought some semblance of peace for 80 years in the west. Of course, I agree that with the advent of taxes and welfare and NGOs our gvts have become like mafia organisations. Convincing, no - forcing, us to hand over the fruits of our labour for protection against wars which they themselves either instigate in foreign lands or make us fear coming to us.

"Equity"... From a biological standpoint, the notion that social hierarchies can be turned upside-down or even eradicated somehow... Well... it isn't how nature works. Fairness and generosity are laudable goals, and they should be pursued vigorously... but those don't appear to be on the table with "equity" advocates; instead, they seek a system of wealth distribution that's based on something other than merit or contributions to society. Beyond the biology of it, when you look at "equity" in terms of wealth and actually do the math it turns out that (big surprise) western countries don't actually have the capacity to lift every struggling person in the world out of poverty. If you divided up all of the wealth that's been amassed in western countries and distributed it evenly, it wouldn't be enough to lift anyone out of poverty actually... Alternatively, you could raise the living standards of a small fraction of the global population, but ultimately, living standards are a function of limited resources: Limited recovery rates for renewable resources, and limited finite amounts of essential mineral resources, the quality of which declines over time due to the "best first" principle... but that's all academic... If you judge on the basis of actions rather than words, it can be very telling...and I guarantee you won't see any of those advocating for massive wealth redistribution, for "equity", volunteering any of their personal wealth toward the cause.

Why don't these Chinese migrants just buy a plane ticket and fly to Los Angeles - visa. They can not obtain a US visa but they can obtain visas to many other countries easily. I follow a UA-cam channel with interviews with lots of those migrants. Some of them are doing this to escape the way of life in China. They love USA. One of the interviewees migrated this way in order to join the navy so that one day he can be on the battle ground to fight the Chinese armies. He is currently in the navy. Some of them are just purely taking advantage of the border condition, come for work which are seriously dwindling in China. They might dispose USA but they know they can earn more money here. Even the migrants themselves have seen so much in the route and know some of them should never have been let into USA.

Also, migration doesn't benefit everyone, the countries these people leave are weaker for having lost a proportion of their self actualising citizenry.
And i think this issue, like many others that plague modern western societies, is a symptom of perceived guilt. People who are engaged in unscrupulous economic endeavours, which is everyone if you follow the edicts of the intersectionalists, proclaim their support for these and other self defeating policies in order to alleviate said guilt that they have either 'inherited' or personally earned.
