I was thinking this while listening to him speak. The "woke" as they refer to, do not think or analyze for themselves, and to engage in a conversation with them is useless because their response is reciting a narrative that they remembered to be true. There is no changing their attitude. Common sense doesn't work. I showed a video by Zach of Wolves and Finance on youtube about the Civil Trial in New York regarding Trump. Zach explains it like he is talking to a 6th grade classroom, and the LEFT response was Plausible Deniability. The comments weren't intelligent but childish bullying responses such as, "I dont trust Conservatives," or "Zach is lying." The LEFT likes the "herd" mentality as it fits their big government will take care of you agenda. I read a book, "Cynical Theories" by James Lindsay about how Activist Scholarships made everything about Race, Gender and Identity. It starts out with postmodernism and explains how our younger generations have been conditioned. Unfortunately, Im not as optimistic as this speaker. This Marxist Socialism appears to be taking over our Country.
I almost wanted to cry listening to his speech! I was a liberal, more so a conservative now, found my Catholic Latin roots, and have been Awake for awhile! I’m an RN that fought getting the jab and won! However, waking out of the matrix can be a lonely depressing place to be. However, there is no going back for me❤

You don't have to try to put labels on yourself or figure out which category you fit into. They do that so its easier to control you via the herd you identify with. Just keep thinking for yourself!
I think it's wonderful to wake up and realize so much of what they told you are lies. The Bible has more truth than all the science they say is true. Which one, we and this world were made by a loving God in his image, or the entire universe sprang from nothing 14 billion yrs ago, then life was created by lightning hitting some goo on a rock 4 billion yrs ago, and Adam was born out of a 4 ft high hairy half monkey. I can't believe this much truth is allowed in one video on UA-cam. Every person in this country needs to see this video. Too bad I have already parted ways with all the woke people that I knew and don't even have enough common ground to communicate let alone reason with. Just to see this many people listening to this man gives me hope.
Don't be fooled. It appears Mr Shellenberger does the same thing as the people he criticises, ie. Cherry-pick data to mislead. The data presented on global CO2 emissions is misleading and the conclusions incorrect. He uses “Our World in Data” for UK, France and USA CO2 emissions, however, he uses a graph from “Zeke Hausfather” for global emissions. Firstly the “Zeke Hausfather” graph is depicting land use emissions whereas the “Our World in Data” graphs are CO2 emissions due to fossil fuels and industry, totally different. If you use “Our World in Data” for global emissions you will see that total emissions has not peaked but continues to rise. The reason global emissions continue to rise is because China, India and numerous other countries emissions continue to increase. I stopped watching after the book plug as I didn’t want to commit to fact checking everything else.

It's not courageous anymore. That's why I'm not putting much trust in Shellenberger right now. It's called a Limited Hangout, Shellenberger posted things from the Twitter files which we already knew. It just looks courageous because he's prominent in public discourse right now. But I would remind everyone that Matt Taibbi has been all over this stuff for years. He doesn't get invited to lecture. Shellenberger has so much content just from the last 5 days that I have a hard time believing he is acting on his own. Or that he believes what he says. Why didn't he talk about UFOs for 15 minutes like he did on Rising yesterday. Especially if it's so "ontologically shocking" as he says. I think he's just like his father, in the CIA.

Absolutely.
It shouldn't be framed simply as "racial division and strife" which means becoming aware of history and how the world operates is somehow bad. Certain people should and need to become critically aware of how the modern world has been formed, not just from a north American context. This is not something which is passing or a fad or part of a fleeting movement. This is the history of the planet and it should inform how the planet is "reformed" almost going forward.
As always, the wet dream for particular people, and those who follow this man even if generally it is against their own people, is for there to be no races/no "other" people, that these people do not have a history, that they do and did not occupy the planet, if fact they do not exist, which is the actually complete opposite of what is actual truth an reality.

This is probably the most important speech given by anyone in the last 50 years. Yet sadly... half of the student audience seems to be entirely apathetic and ambivalent. I always advocated for my patients. It was the narcissism and power of the people I worked for that was disturbing. The patients were misguided by that and social media. The parents and clients were being "emotionally blackmailed." Speaking the truth was always a problem in that environment.

Wow! A whole month to come to this... Michael (and Matt also) has done a great job informing the public. The thing is that people are in denial.
I think too many people don't want to do some hard thinking. It's easier to just repeat the 30 second soundbites they hear from the Woke and other ill-informed people. I do think the tide is slowly starting to change regarding these subjects. But it needs more of us to call "Bull-Sh_t"!

This speech clarified and articulated the root of modern day rot better than anything I've come across since the stink set in. Shellenberger is a saviour. The best part is, I feel better suddenly . . . at least the problem is well identified now. This presentation needs to be shared widely.

Why do you feel better. This message has been there, the data has been there, as I have seen it many times. The people who need to be enlightened by the message have already rejected the data. They make up logic to discredit the message and call it biased and racist. All of us praising this message thinking, OMG yes!...is a temporary feel good as we are the only ones praising it because we already think this way.
This message only falls into the minds of those who already have this mindset.

Came across this outstanding lecture after listening to several videos debating the cancellation and de-monetizing of Russell Brand. Most people I know personally, are still asleep. When I open a conversation with them they do not want to know. It’s frustrating and stresses me out so not doing it anymore. I wish I had the calm demeanor and eloquence of Michael S. Maybe it would be easier.

I was terminated at my last job for having the audacity to listen to this during my lunch break (-the vast majority of which I diligently worked through during the time I was with this 'company').
No verbal or written warning, just instant dismissal about 90 mins after I'd finished listening...by a VERY uncomfortable line-manager who offered up the lamest 'reason' possible, and a HR manager who seemed to get a genuine charge out of what was going down. Class act.
The company is heavily woke-oriented and after my tenure there, I realised just how oppressive the atmosphere was; I felt like I had been released from a Gestapo jail or Stalin-era Soviet gulag. I'd NEVER expressed any non-woke views in any way, shape or form, but I guess the IT 'morality police' caught me.
This is WOKE culture at work - totally unconcerned about who they target and quite happy to fuck with someone's livelihood, if that's what it takes to feel good about themselves and their bullshit agendas.
Time to wake up people! This shit needs to be shut down before what's left of freedom of speech/thought/choice is lost forever.

He hardly spoke the truth, either. This was ideology and propaganda, gilded with the veneer of some studies or statistics, taken out of context to suit his agenda. He is no better than those he criticizes, he just hails from the Fox News camp of the right wing, rather than the Woke camp of the far left wing. The trouble with online censorship is that humanity seems to have lost all perspective as to what's fact vs what's opinion; what is debatable vs. what isn't. Scientific facts are not up for dispute, and dangerously promoting obvious mistruths during a time of pandemic when the cost of lying is deaths by the thousands on a daily basis, there is a moral consideration to remove those mistruths. On the other hand, many people consider their most certainly debatable opinions to be unquestionable fact, and use the excuse or the authority of science to censor other valid opinions.
I blame the breakdown of fact vs opinion squarely at social media, who originally blurred the lines between credible reporting and unreliable rants from random idiots online. Once that happened, the news itself reciprocated, and it too could not tell the difference between what should be reported as fact vs what is propaganda belonging in the OP-ed section.
In fact, shit's gotten so bad that most news articles today treat just about any low-life post as credible sources. It started as Tweets from politicians, then it devolved into Reddit posts, now even TikToks are considered newsworthy on NBC and NPR, and I generally regard the latter as a good publication otherwise.
Social media has been a blight on humanity, destroying the Pax Americana in just 1 short decade, I can only shudder in horror how much worse off we'll be by the year 2030, once "generative a.i." (read: plagiarism bots) kicks into higher gear.
Get rid of this dystopian nightmare by all means. However, don't forget that the biggest dystopian nightmare of the Western world was Christianity! Please don't re embrace the bible thumpers!

I fell to the floor when I realized a video this truthful was available on UA-cam or anywhere public for that matter. Thank God Mr Shellenberger is intelligent enough to question the norm and brave enough to continue sharing the truth, and that there are young people in higher education institutions who still think for themselves. There is hope!!!
